Cannoli cake
Liz P.

This place was great. My husband and I were looking for somewhere nice to go for our first wedding anniversary and some friends suggested Single Barrel Social. Our anniversary fell on a Monday this year and I figured it wouldn't be very busy, we also have a 4-week-old newborn so we wanted to treat ourselves. I started with the mango seasonal drink and it was superb; my husband got one of the smoked Old Fashioneds. I also tried the blueberry seasonal drink and it was good but I liked the mango better. We got the mini cornbread as an appetizer, and for my entree, I had the filet, with Lyonnaise potatoes as a side. My husband got the wagyu flatiron steak with Brussels sprouts as a side, which were fabulous - they had some sort of cherry sauce on them. For dessert we had the cannoli cake - it didn't really taste like cannoli to me but more like a lava cake, and it was tasty. Waitservice was also very good and timely. I would definitely return here - it's a little pricey (entrees are like $25+, I forget how much their burgers were) but you get what you pay for, as the quality was very good. The building itself was very unique too, and a nice atmosphere.

Loads of character in this dining room.

We wanted a try a place we hadn't been before and SBS was just what we were looking for. I made a reservation for Saturday at 5p because their instagram was fire and there was a highlight for happy hour. I clicked on those pics and SBS boasted a Friday and Saturday happy hour 4-6p! Glad I called. Apparently those are old posts and they don't have a happy hour at all anymore. Bummer and I almost looked elsewhere. This is just down the street from the social district. The parking is much easier but they were still busy. The building is incredible. This is a very cool spot. Great for a date night and to meet friends. Lots of glass, metal and light. The dining room itself is very dark and intimate. I don't believe you will find quiet anywhere in this place. It's lively. It's also pricy. It's great that they are a scratch kitchen and the menu is fantastic. The plates going to other tables looked and smelled incredible and definitely influenced my choices. The Malbec by the glass is delicious but not the A-typical Malbec. Deep, rich and off dry. Not sweet but not mouth-tacking dry either. If I knew it was so good I may have simply ordered the bottle but now knowing that's it's about $10 for the bottle and they have it listed for $42, glad I didn't. We started with charcuterie. Iberrico ham, prosciutto, and chorizo. Goat milk Gouda, triple cream Brie and a red cheddar. Toast slices, jam, almonds and mustard. Everything was good but it was incongruent. None of the meats go with the cheeses but they were delicious on their own. Hubs had the pasta and I had fried rice. The pasta was a lovely al dente. Good portion and tasty. The rice was beautiful and piping hot! All elements were perfectly cooked. The salmon, the beans, the shrimp; all were great. The vegetable wonton was a big egg roll cut in half but it was not good. The wet soggy cabbage made the wrapper soggy too. The sweet sauce with the egg roll was odd and spicy. Not bad but not great either. The waitress was fine. Nice and just the right amount of attentive. The place was getting busy. We skipped dessert and paid the $100 bill and headed to Blank Slate for a scoop.

Single Barrel never disappoints! We came here for Sweetest Day Dinner and it was amazing! We tried the Surf and Turf for two! It was absolutely delicious!

Food & Service were spectacular. Delia was a fantastic server. I highly recommend this restaurant. Best steak I've had out in a very long time. Best wedge salad, Best roasted carrots, lyonnaise potato & horseradish crema. The calamari & lobster with artichoke dip was outstanding. The desserts & drinks were unique, creative & so delicious we all had to share. Wow. I'm definitely going back.

Absolutely loved this place! Stopped for a cap after dinner.. and will definitely be back. Great service, delicious drinks, and divine appetizers and dessert. Absolutely will be back for some of their steaks that I couldn't take my eyes off of.

Filet mignon with zip sauce and side veggie

This is my new favorite restaurant in the Brighton area! It is very trendy and has a lot of interesting things on the menu. The food was all really good! I ordered the filet mignon with a side of veggies and zip sauce and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. I love the crisp texture of the charred meat. They do use a decent amount of pepper, which I would ask them to leave off next time. The steak comes with your choice of side and I would recommend the whipped potatoes (what my fiancée ordered). We also tried the bread & butter, Guadalupe salad and whitefish croquettes- all delicious. I did not love the duck fat potatoes- just found them to be a little bland. The service was good & we're happy to share recommendations with us. They get pretty busy on the weekends so I would recommend making a reservation. There is also bar seating if you have a small group. The food is on the expensive side but worth it!

The squad was on a shred sesh, since it's one of those "it's been a while moment." We decided to go out for some drinks and grub of course. So we let my friend decide where to go and we ended up here. Nicely decorated, it has two bars and plenty of seating everywhere. Lighting and ambiance was on point. The booth we were on was adorned in ostrich leather, which was something I was partial to. Thumbs up to the decorator. I love the appeal. Now to the food... Oysters - of course we ordered a dozen. Half west coast and half east coast. Delightful of course. Steak Tartare - 5 stars on the plating. Also 5 stars on the flavors. Love the plantain chips. Perfect accompaniment to the raw beef. Don't like raw beef? I don't care what you think. Let's keep it moving shall we. Bone Marrow - As you've seen from my reels, I'm partial to this dish as well. These guys are superb. Spread a proper amount on the toast. Top it with the caramelized onions and prepare to melt your life away. Oh, you don't like that too?? Don't care, more for me. Let's keep it moving. Delmonico Steak - I make amazing steaks, and my friends usually compare mines to other restaurants. Yes, this cut of cooked beef passes with honors. Medium Rare was spot on and the roasted root veggies were phenomenal. Service was dialed in. Our server did not skip a beat. We were taken cared of every step of the way. I would definitely come back here and smash again. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Single Barrel Social is decorated in the fancy gastropub style that a lot of trendy Michigan eateries seem to follow. As soon as you enter, your nose is smacked with the delicious aroma of wood & meat. Reservations are definitely recommended, as this place is really popular. They offer an extensive drink menu. Their food is elevated versions of familiar dishes. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The prices are kinda high, but you're paying for quality.

This is an amazing restaurant!!! Be prepared to spend some money but well worth every penny!! It has a beautiful view and I appreciated that the tables are not on top of each other. There are 2 bars. Mike was our server and he was amazing!!! Took time with us and had a great sense of humor. The sommelier was knowledgeable and very helpful. And the food was to die for!!! We started with the charcuterie board (which was perfectly sized for 5 of us) and lobster artichoke dip (never tasted anything like it... it was a table fave). We had seafood fried rice, strip steak, and the halibut. The halibut came with lemon risotto which was a phenomenal way to add the hint of citrus to the fish. We got mushrooms as our side with the steaks and they were tasty and not overcooked. The steak was perfectly done and flavorful. We got the zip sauce and horseradish cream with them and could not decide which was better! The seafood fried rice was unique and something we would definitely get again!!! We will definitely be coming back!!!

Having said that, if it had come with pickles it definitely would have amped up the flavor profile of this burger and made for a better sandwich in my opinion. Possibly something to keep in min d and ask for if you go the Burger route. Aside form the burger, I ordered an Old Fashioned with Makers Mark Bourbon as the base for my cocktail. The drink was well made and quite tasty and a deal at $11 in my opinion. Aside from the burger there were an assortment of food options that I would classify as Elevated Bar food bordering on a Bistro style Menu that looked very interesting. Nice! The bar itself has a dark vibe to it to go along with the Western accents making for a nice ambiance to enjoy your drink/food. Plenty of tables running along side their massive bar and numerous TV's scattered about to allow you to watch the big game. Staff is quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal. Overall a nice place to enjoy a well made drink and grab a bite to it. Its central location in the business district is also another huge plus if you want to make an evening of it in downtown Brighton.

One suggestion, have you ever considered any kind of sound dampening drapes or pads in the restaurant? We always have great meals but sometimes when you're at full capacity, it can be hard to hear the group or the server without multiple requests to repeat themselves, or a hand wave and a "we'll talk when we're at the car". Thank you Bourbons for giving my husband a fantastic and memorable birthday dinner!! We will definitely be back for more special meals!!!

Located just outside of the main downtown area, the Canopy Lounge is hidden in the back of a parking lot. It's a well-kept secret, but one worth sharing. The ambiance is like a cozy sports bar with a rustic twist. There are several options for seating (high top tables, bar in the back, and a lounge-type area up front with a sofa and some easy chairs. We decided to sit in the lounge type area and took advantage of the happy hour specials. We did an order of mussels and fries for the adults, macaroni and cheese for the kiddos (one order split 2 ways, which was more than enough for them). Food was tasty and the happy hour drinks hit the spot all the way around. Our server did a fantastic job of making sure that our waters stayed filled and of bringing our food promptly. There were a number of interesting options on the menu, including venison chili and backstrap, as well as Korean BBQ duck. We bookmarked those to try for next time!

Our party of 6 arrived about 130 pm. The outdoor seating area was open and bustling. The indoor space was less than half full and we had no wait to get a seat except that no one was at the hostess station. The bartender did greet us and another group relatively quickly but this was the only thing that was quick this visit. Without going into great detail, we were seated for about 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. We ordered drinks and it took almost 20 minutes for them to start to arrive and 30 minutes to get all 6 drinks. It took over an hour to get food and the entire visit was almost 2 1/2 hours. Mind you this is an upscale bar not a multicourse fine dining establishment. We were told that they were understaffed due to people not showing up but from what I could see they had 2 servers and a bar tender for about 15 active tables. Our waitress, while nice, was inattentive, often leaving us with empty drinks. The food was as good as we have come to expect as were the drinks when we could get them. I will say the chicken tenders my son ordered were over cooked but still tasty. Normally, I would rate this location as 4 stars but not this trip. Again, I hope this was just an off day but service like this again will result in losing our business going forward.
