I've never been a fan of thin crust pizza, so this was never gonna be a great review for me. They make small pizza, and if you order 2 you get a free plain pie. They don't pack the pizza in pizza boxes, it comes sandwiched between 4 thick plates, which doesn't do much to keep a crisp on the crust. The pizza itself wasn't terrible. I'd describe the flavor as buttery. Toppings were good. I wish they offered more that just a paneer tikka pizza, like a chicken tikka pizza, because I hate paneer cheese but like Indian flavored pizza. I didn't order that so I can't comment on it. Bummer. There are a lot of pizzeria's locally, but recalling fond memories of the original Singas Pizza location off Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens (sadly it closed a few years ago), I decided to give this Singas a try. It's nice to see they still have the buy two get one free deal, which was around back in my Queens' days. So obviously I ordered two pies: one mushroom, one sausage, and for the free pie I chose a plain (which for pizza taste testing standards offered up a nice control specimen LOL). While my taste buds have certainly advanced since my last Singas pizza, it was to my pleasant surprise how much it tasted like I remembered! The crust had a really crisp bite, more like a crunch really, which I recalled right at my first bite. I also noticed the flavor of the crust, particularly the bottom, with it's buttery (almost peanut oil like flavor). The cheese, sauce, and crust ratio was just as I recalled with the crust being the predominant component, followed by an equal proportion of sauce and cheese. The sauce's flavor was a balance between sweet and tangy, offering a solid, albeit commonplace taste. Cheese was like the sauce; solid and wholly familiar. In the same ilk as above, both the mushrooms and sausage were standard pizza fare, but still tasted good. The Italian sausage was particularly tasty with a hint of sweet and also spice. Yes Singas is not the best pizza around, but it's very solid, and offers (for me) a welcome factor of nostalgia. read more

I used to come here close to 10 years ago when it first opened. Back then I thought that the pizza was good and price was great. The pizza only come in one size. It's a small size compared to traditional pizzeria offerings - maybe 10 inches in diameter. Used to get 2 pizzas and get a free plain, and it would run around $11 for three pies. Today the deal remains, but prices around $1 more per pie. I was in the area yesterday and thought it'll be a good idea to try Singas again. We're glad we did. They only serve pizza, and it's as I remembered it. It's served hot, the crust is medium thickness and imparts a slight crunch. The sauce is neutral in flavor - not too sweet or too tangy, and the gooey cheese has a mild flavor that stays attached to the slice. What Singas gives you is a solid pizza, and good value. You can get a variety of pizza for around $6-$7 a pie. Each variety has a different price. The slices are a perfect size for kids. You don't have to cut it smaller. Now the negatives. This place is a dive. Plastic bags are covering the ceilings because of water damage. Some light fixtures are missing or cooked. Lots of wear and tear. If you just turned off the lights in this place, you'd think this place was abandoned, except there's a working pizza oven. My family just sat at the best booth away from the water damage. The tables were clean enough. It's cash only and there's a non working atm. The owner or employee was friendly. There are pizza condiments at the ordering counter. I wouldn't mind coming back for take out. My family likes Singas pizza. read more

This place is nice and Pizza was Good. I went their on a weeknight and ordered to go pizzas. There was only 1 kid working. He was doing everything from taking orders, making pizzas and packing them. He was working quickly, but accurately. He wasn't making any mistakes and he definitely put a lot of toppings on each of the pies. Definitely worth ordering from here. read more

To go review - While at jersey at a friend's place, got a couple of pizzas to go... had 3 pizzas in the boxes, they were still hot when reached home. All three were veggie pizzas. Pizza was delicious and flavorful. The sauce was just right and the ingredients couldn't get any fresher than this. They have one in NY as well but glad they deliver to my location!. The delivery service was quick and I even got a complimentary water bottle ;) Manager even called me to confirm that they didn't have one of the ingredient I wanted so I substituted for sweet sausage. The three pizzas I ordered came still hot and I live 4.3 miles away. Great job guys, will order from here again, maybe tmrw ;) read more

Anyone that has had the original Singas in Queens, NY knows that this place has a lot of work to do. I always ask for my pizza to be cooked well done, but it is never as crisp as I like. The delivery staff is very friendly though, and the pizza is pretty inexpensive. I would recommend this if you are local, but I hope they step their game up to the level and quality of the original Singas Famous pizza. read more

Singa's Pizza isn't exactly NY style pizza, but it'll do. They do personal size pizzas. Buy 2 get 1 plain for free (toppings extra). Their pizzas are tasty but not anything to write home about. An Indian friend who knows that I like a taste of the exotic recommended that I try Indian-style Pizza. Now before somebody suggests that it is a ridiculous idea to have Indian pizza rather than Italian, I should point out that nearly every country that has adopted pizza has their own touches for making it. The Scots seem to like ham and pineapple pizza, though you rarely find it in the US. You do find it at Singas. I think the Greeks have a teardrop shaped pizza. By the way the Baltic Republics have excellent herring pizza. I like things exotic. I asked my friend what made Indian pizza different from, say, American pizza. He was sort of at a loss to put it into words, making me all the more anxious to try it. Well, based on three pies (I will explain why three later on) I would say that it is not a lot different. The toppings are not particularly exotic sounding. But at least at Singas is piles a lot of toppings on a pizza. Back when I was first ordering pizza I seem to remember that American pizza was made with a lot of toppings, but then pizza parlors started playing the same game that the auto companies did. They make a basic model that is very basic and then they over-charge for lots of options or in this case toppings. Singas loaded the lots of toppings on. They did that a little more for their vegetarian pizzas than for the pepperoni and mushroom, but it wasn't bad. Then there are the condiments. There is the grated Parmesan and the pepper flakes. They are also just like the US. But they also had bottles of Start Hot Curry Sauce. (Did I mention I like exotic flavors?) Good stuff and it does lend an Indian flavor to the pizza. In Parlin of you like the Start sauce you can find it just a few feet away at Patel Grocery. The North Brunswick Singas is also right next to an Indian grocery, I think. Singas is a chain, and they there are several in New Jersey. A large pizza will serve people, but they have a deal that if you buy two large pizzas you get a free smaller pizza. That means that I will be eating pizza for breakfast for a long time to come. Side note: the best way to reheat pizza is not in an oven but in a covered fry pan at medium heat. No oil. Check it every two or three minutes to see when the cheese gets soft. The lower crust gets crispy. The toppings rejuvenate just fine. The result rivals fresh pizza. read more

We got to the place and the guy behind the counter starts scrambling when we told him our order number. Manager comes out and immediately blames Kumar and his family for taking the wrong order. They got into it and started shouting across the restaurant. Eventually he tells us we're going to have to wait for our order after slamming his hands down on the counter. We left immediately. I've been going to Singas for over 25 years. Pretty much as far back as I can remember. Primarily the Edison location. But often the jersey city and queens locations as well. I've also had the Franklin park Singas a few times as well. All identical. It's my favorite food in the world. This should in no way shape or form be called Singas pizza. The sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. Singas has a distinct sauce taste. The dough wasn't proofed properly, actually it was par-uncooked and the pizza was made by two 16 year old kids playing around in the store while customers were dining. It was a mess. Dear Mr Singas owner. Please fix this. It's a disgrace to the Singas name. It's worse than the knockoff Gualpa place up the road from two edison location. read more

I was desperately craving pizza but I didn't want the classic, cardboard-tasting slice. They have a tiny parking lot outside. This is also a cash-only store. They do have an ATM however it wasn't working when I was there. I wanted to try the Alfredo pie but they didn't have any. Ended up going with a chicken and bacon pie. Also, if you order two pies, you get a third, plain pie for free. The chicken pie was pretty basic with no great flavors going on. Although I did like that they made their chicken pieces nice and small so you get chicken in every bite. The bacon pie though was awesome..probably because of the bacon itself. The plain pie was basic, nothing special. If I was to come back, it would probably be for the bacon pie. The staff working there were okay. They do have a bathroom for customers. Terrible night time manager. They gave me the wrong pizzas and when I didn't fuss about it they blamed me for screwing up their orders. Short guy with glasses who seemed to be the manager. started yelling at me calling me a stupid customer cause I'm eating what I didn't order. I screamed back and got into a big shouting match. Another customer started yelling at the manager for being so arrogant and got yelled at and threatened by the manager. Pizza is over all not as good as other singas but never had a problem like this in my entire life eating out. Hope the owner does the right thing and tosses this guy. After years of going there never going back and will convey that to all my friends and family in the area.
