We stopped by this place based off of other yelp reviews, and I am so glad we did! I was bit skeptical as we first walked in, the atmosphere was nothing special. But as soon as we tasted the Foul (a bean dip appetizer that we dipped with fresh pita bread) I knew we were in for a treat. I ended up ordering the gyro sandwich which was by far the most moist, and delicious cut of lamb I've had in a gyro. And my husband ordered a three meat platter that was just as amazing. WOW! came for lunch a week ago after a friend recommended this place to me. Best Mediterranean food in town by far! The hummus and baba ghanoush are perfectly seasoned with tahini and garlic! Tried the combo plate so I can have a little of everything and it was fabulous! The gyro was perfectly cooked, the shish tawook is a chicken marinated in a curry sauce and it was the best chicken I've ever had, and the kafta is beef that has spiced, parsley, and onions mixed in it and it was unlike anything I've had before. The rice is probably the best part, it is to die for! Never had rice that good before anywhere. I was served by Erick who had excellent service! I love this place. Cozy booths that can easily accommodate a family of 5. I felt very comfortable there. The waiter/ cashier was very kind and attentive. I started off with an Arabic Tea which was refreshing. I ordered the Combo Plate that everyone keeps talking about. It comes with either rice ot salad. The waiter recommend the rice so i got thatnand decided to add the Arabic Salad as well for a little over two bucks. I also ordered another one to-go for the wife since she was at home and I also ordered a Gyro and an Order of Chicken Tandoori for dinner since it was early afternoon and neither the wife or I was in the mood to cook. The waiter asked if I wanted to have them start on the to-go orders now or when I was close to finishing my meal. I told him he can start them now, not realizing that the orders don't take very long to make which I was very happy about because I was starving. So the waiter brings my Combo Plate and it looked amazing and smelled even better. I couldn't wait to dig in but I had to take a pic of it and post it to my Facebook because it looked so good. As I was typing the waiter described the meats to me. I believe he said the first one was ground beef, second was lamb (Gyro Meat), and the last was curry boneless chicken. So I took a taste of all three meats and it was amazing. Then I tasted the rice and I was in heaven. The salad was very good too and had so hood spices on it. The sauces o rovided were yummy. One I believe he said was a yogurt sauce and the other was a jalapeño spice. The jalapeños were diced or crushed into fine bits and some spices were added. It was very spicy which I like. The yogurt Sauder was seasoned very well. Normally I don't like it from other places because.its usually plain but this was tasty. I found myself not being able to stop eating. I got a phone call and ignored it...lol. I really enjoyed that dish. Later that evening I ate the Gyro and the Chief Tandoori it was very good. My wife also love her Combo Plate. She shared it with my kids and everyone loved it. I am happy I found this place. I'll be back for sure. It's one of those places you have to go. You will crave it. Enjoy. Where do I start... Sinbad's has some of the best Mediterranean food in the city. I ordered food to go and they were fast and ready by the time I got there. The portions are pretty big. We had the sample platter-- AMAZING! My boyfriend was feeling pretty hungry so good thing we got an extra dish. The mixture of spices and the way the meat is cooked is on point. It's juicy and flavorful. I opted to get a salad and the dressing was really good... it has parsley for those who don't like that strong flavor which I do. Get the rice if you can, it goes well with the any of their meat options. The sauces they give you are especially good and add even more flavor to the food. The green one is spicy and has kick-- again AMAZING! It's not overpowering and really complemented the sample platter. We will definitely go again. It's the perfect spot near the university so you can go and then maybe catch a game or concert. read more

Being a Middle Eastern food fanatic, I had to try Sinbad. It is well named: A SIN to call it a restaurant and BAD for the unaccomodating attitude of the cook. I wanted the Kibbe Platter which comes with a salad. I asked if instead of the Arabian salad i could have tabboule. I was curtly informed that they made no substitutes on their menu. I left. This is my favorite place to eat in El Paso. I have tried a few other Mediterranean restaurants in El Paso but none are as tasty as Sinbad. I am big fan of the Chicken Fatoosh, Hummus, Babganoosh and Gyro. I highly recommend them all. If you've never been here before the rice is amazing! The staff has always been great. I used to go so often that one of the waiters knew my order by heart, he used to jokingly ask me if I really needed a menu and bring out the Hummus he knew I was going to order shortly after I sat down. I loved that relationship and it would probably be the same with the new waiter if I came as often now. The service is always good, the location is usually quiet. I come all the way from Las Cruces to eat here. A great spot for Arabic food, and I am saying that as someone of Lebanese descent who has been desperate for some great Middle Eastern food.
