My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in El Paso. I drive 30 minutes out for it. The BEST!

    Luis S.

I was craving good food and so took a drive to come out here. We made reservations because we had a large group. I asked for chicken Tikka masala, which comes with rice. The spice level was medium, and it was super light but still delicious. I ordered samosas, however, I am ashamed to say I ate them without taking a picture. To drink I got the Indian tea (chai) and I shared a mango lassi with my wife. The service was very friendly. They did take a little while to bring out the food, but we did order A LOT. So I can't blame them on that. Will continue to come here.

We don't have so many Indian options in El Paso and India Palace is a solid one! In an intimate warm decor with smoothing music you are reminded that India offers a welcoming culture with rich spiritual dimensions. The Cuisine of India is full of spices, rich, creamy and complex. Service is slow, as there is only one waiter. So patience is King at India Palace! Try the vegetable samosas, their Mulgatwani soup. The Karachichicken tikka Buhna the favorite of our host (Amros). The wait is justified as everything is freshly prepared and delicious. Unfortunately after Covid they stopped their Indian Buffet which was always a great option. Portions are copious so you definitely share dishes with several guests. But patience will make grateful for experiencing the delights of India. Jai Hind or "Long live India!"

Five Stars for taste and 2.5 for service. I have been here twice on different days and hours (I did not have their buffet), and both times I experienced slow service also did not have the most attentive servers, but India Palace's food is worth the wait. I highly enjoyed their assorted vegetable appetizer, specifically their deep-fried onions. I enjoyed their chicken and lamb curry, especially when I asked for mild and hot, and both were just right. Yet, you may consider visiting if you are in a time crunch. India Palace has a calm ambiance. Currently, El Paso doesn't have many places for Indian Food, and India Palace is 1 of 2; their parking may be tight because they are located at a mini-mall. They accept apple pay.

Came in to try this place out. Amazing Indian food that is presented very well. The place looked closed when we pulled up but luckily it was open. I got one of the complete dinner plates and my husband got one of the other ones. For all the food we got, it was very filling and nicely priced.

We were the only family in the restaurant , but the food was still good and it was nice to not feel rushed. Good portion sizes and lots to choose from.

Pre-COVID. I have the absolute BEST memories of this place. When I was stationed at Ft. Bliss this was our go-to! This was my first experience with Indian food and I was hooked. They have AWESOME tandoori chicken and their chai is on point. I always loved their buffet. Might be a while before they can do buffets again, but I highly recommend getting food from here! You will not regret it.

And the drinks which we ordered first came out later, and after the food came out. They did drop off a caraf of water at the table, so we weren't thirsty. Liz ordered a mango margarita, and she enjoyed it. My mom ordered a mojito, but it also came out later and tasted more lemony than a mojito should. I ordered and Irani Chao Tea, and it was very cream and cardamom-y tasting drink...but even the large was very small. The foods were delicious. They came out slowly, but I guess it was worth the wait, maybe? Lol. Liz ordered a seasoned fried cashew chicken. We also ordered a paneer, a butter chicken, and a another roasted tomato and chicken dish that were all good. I also, ordered a medium spicy chickpeas dish that came after the rest of the food after I reminded our server. The naan was tasty but thin and kinda crispy. I guess maybe I prefer it a bit thicker and soft, but the flavor of the butter and garlic naan were good. The ambiance was very chill. They had indoor and outdoor seating. It was interesting as I thought it was pretty kid friendly, but this one customer shhh'd a kid. There is a small play area outside the shared area. Parking in the area could be tight If I return I'd like to taste their mango llasi, and some other dishes we didn't think the kids would enjoy, but I would

Likewise, the rice served alongside was high quality, long-grained and well seasoned with whole spices. That said, the atmosphere and organization were quite chaotic. Missing ingredients, confusion over what dishes had been served and to whom, a reservation system that seemed tailor made for disgruntled customers, and (I suspect) a lone server to doesn't actually know or understand the menu. The pricing overall is reasonable if a bit inflated because of the downtown location. A few odd things - water is served on clear plastic cups, not cutesy, not demure, not sustainable... Two bread options - Naan and parotta. If you know anything about Indian breads, these look, taste and are prepared very differently. Things had already been going awry, so I ate my "parotta" that was absolutely garlic naan. I DO appreciate the variety of dishes from the South of India, something that we don't always have ready access to in El Paso. India Palace's South Indian menu is limited at best - though there are no dosas available here the night I went, so I hesitate to suggest or recommend them. All said, they need stronger management and organization if they are going to survive. It's a very new establishment and I look forward to potentially updating my review if I go back.

My friend and I decided to try the new Curry Bowl Indian Bistro in Downtown El Paso for lunch. I…read morehad heard from a couple of Indian families at my school that the food was delicious and authentic. First, a word of caution: parking is a challenge. With road closures and construction, it took me about 20 minutes to find a metered spot. I'd recommend parking in a garage and enjoying a beautiful walk downtown. The architecture is worth appreciating. When we arrived, the bistro was nearly empty, which gave us a chance to take in the nice, cozy ambiance, complete with fancy gold chairs and well-designed signage. The staff was friendly and explained the menu options, including the difference between plates and bowls. Bottled water is available and reasonably priced. We opted for the lunch special, which included an appetizer, a curry bowl, and a drink. They informed us that there was an extra charge for my friend's choice of curry goat, which was transparent and appreciated, unlike a complaint I read in a review. My friend ordered a samosa and curry goat bowl, while I went with a fried chicken 65 appetizer and butter chicken curry bowl. We both chose mango lassis, which were delicious--creamy, smooth, and with a slight yogurt tang. One unique aspect was that the cook, served us our mango lassis personally. However, I found it odd that he handed us the straws with his bare hands. Wrapped straws would have been more sanitary. When our food arrived, it was served in small meal prep containers, which felt out of place in such a nicely decorated bistro. The portions were also surprisingly small; the appetizer and main course were the same size. Despite this, the food was excellent. The rice was flavorful, and both the butter chicken and fried chicken were well-seasoned. The curry goat was rich and meaty. However, I wish we had been given an option for spice levels; my friend would have preferred less spice, while I, accustomed to El Paso's spicier flavors, would have liked more heat. The bistro got busier as the lunch crowd arrived, mostly workers from nearby offices. The meal prep containers made sense for to-go orders, but they felt a bit cheap given the restaurant's atmosphere. If you're considering this place for a nice date, it might not be the best choice. Our experience was somewhat marred by a person repeatedly entering and demanding money from us, then cursing us when we didn't have cash. A greater police presence would have made me feel safer, especially in the middle of the day. I'm glad this authentic curry place exists in El Paso, although the hours are a bit limited: they're open from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and until 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. It's great to see more diverse food options in the area, and I hope people come out to support it.-TODOELPASO

Unfortunately, the chicken was extremely over-salted (I had to remove the skin), the rice was mushy, the salad had no dressing, and the hummus had a very odd, overly smooth texture that was off-putting.
