The cutest beaded summer bag with 2 lemons and bamboo handles caught my attention. Unlike some of the gaudier bags in this style, this particular bag was subtle, with just two lemons on a sand colored, beaded background. it's sophisticated and perfect for an upcoming trip to Italy in the fall, but no way I could wait until them I ripped the tags off in the parking lot and used it that night! My friends, the waitress, and another person at the restaurant complimented it! The bag is unique, stylish, and quite the "find" for $49. The clothing racks were full of many newer spring styles And I spent a lot of time in the dressing room trying on various outfits. So many of them worked, but I had to do a catch and release on a few because I have been buying a lot of clothes lately. I bought a beautiful white boho cropped spring sweater and a pair of wide legged pants, in a fun, beachy print, to go with. Found a two piece set in a light caramel color, perfect to wear in several seasons. The pants are fitted up top, but looser in the legs and paired perfectly with the crocheted knit top in the identical color. This outfit and the purse with lemons are definitely coming on my trip! Also bought a pretty pink athletic jacket and wore it immediately on my walk the next evening. The woman who was managing the dressing room was friendly and super helpful when I needed other sizes. It's such a pain to get dressed and go back out on the floor, so when she offered to bring me a different size, I was so grateful. My only complaint was they had a selection of maxi dresses hung on a low rack so all the bottoms were filthy. I'm not buying anything that is dirty and I'm unsure if it will wash clean. Definitely an area of improvement for the management. They didn't have as many food items as usual, and area I like to peruse for pantry items, but the housewares was completely stocked, as was the bedding and bath area. Lots of fabulous finds! Oh, and I guarded my cart because a friend told me that when she went to use the restroom, her cart went missing and she and the staff never found it. LOL. I Think a worker probably put the items back thinking it was abandoned, but I wasn't taking any chances!

We also found this activity table and again we were able to look and compare and see which one caught his interest. We got an activity table when he was around 8 months and learning to stand and he's almost one and still loves it! Great affordable clothing too with frequent sales. I love how they have sections with themes too! The Halloween selection was huge and the Christmas section is huge too. My son is recently into Barney so I went to find a Barney book, not the new weird Barney, the 90's Barney and I was so excited when I found one! A friend told me about Bates Lavender Farm, which I had never heard of, surprisingly, since I'm in the Gorge all the time. Located in Corbett, it's just 30 minutes from Portland and a breathtaking ride. On a bright blue sky day, the purple lavender and surrounding lush green forest, makes for a picture perfect afternoon. The scent is intoxicating, and the hum of the bees doing their pollinating, provides a zen like background buzz. As most of these farms do, Bates sells products made from lavender. They have the largest assortment of products of any farm I visited thus far. They have soaps, essential oils, hand cream, scented room spritzers, lip balm, bath oil, sachets, a grinder of lavender infused salt (get this) and honey, too! The variety of soaps is both creative and impressive. Not just the requisite lavender, they offer lavender lemon, rosemary lavender (fabulous), lilac lavender, lavender-aloe-avocado, rose lavender, mountain mint, citrus, vanilla lavender, and my favorite, lemongrass basil. The spritz comes in similar fragrances. These make wonderful gifts for teachers, friends, hostess gifts - or for yourself! The owners are lovely, the fields beautiful, and you can make a day of it by stopping at The Women's Forum to take in the best view of Crown Point and the magnificent Columbia River. Grocery items all seemed to be of questionable origin, freshness, and quality, and their prices didn't really seem to be any lower on most of them than what one would find at a conventional grocery store. I was amused by the "hardware" section. The tools were of laughably poor quality (far worse than Harbor Freight fare), and the prices were far too high for their (complete lack of) quality. Their apparel section has among the strangest fashions I've ever seen, and I suspect that none of them will actually ever sell. One curiosity, though, was a selection of rugs. If you're in Vancouver, and need a rug, this may be worth a visit.

I can't say enough good about this place so I'll try to give a good rundown…read more My skin concerns: I suffer from pretty severe acne, and dry, ultra sensitive skin. The acne was mostly hormonal so it wouldn't have been fully fixed with topical treatments, but because of the severity it leaves my skin barrier extremely damaged; even more sensitive and prone to more surface level breakouts. I have tried just about everything my dermatologist suggested. I also have the skin condition Keratosis on my upper arms. Not necessarily damaging, but not great to have either. What I bought: Delicate Facial Bar ($5.95), Delicate Facial Cream ($14) for face and African Shea Soap ($5.95) for body. I have used the Shea Soap for about 4 months now; it's greatly lessened the Keratosis. Not completely gone, but it's a very thorough (and fragrance free ) soap that doesn't strip your skin. I did have greater success after using it and using a shea butter heavy moisturizer right after showering. But solely with the soap, I find it a good enough improvement to keep buying. I have used the Delicate Bar and Cream for about 2 months. The bar is SUCH a good purchase. It cleans the skin super well, and of course leaves a bit of a dryer feeling since it doesn't have whatever store bought soap adds to 'wash away' easier, but it isn't at all stripping or irritating, it just feels clean. Then facial cream is extremely moisturizing, calming, sinks into the skin quite quickly, and doesn't leave you feeling oily or sticky. Within a month, my skin barrier felt healthier and on a good recovery path, and at the end of two months, my skin has its glow back and I am so happy with it. Side note: the full bottle of facial cream is $14 and the travel sized is $4, I used the travel sized and it's lasted me near two months, so if you just want to test it it's a great option. Second Section: Along with skin sensitivity on my face, I have sensitive skin everywhere and the usual laundry soap started to irritate it. Their bulk soap is wonderful, smells like a dream but isn't overpowering; and it doesn't leave clothes all crunchy and stiff like a normal handmade soap would. When you pair it with the wool balls, it acts as a top-notch fabric softener. ($16.00 and $4.50 respectively.) Also bought: Soap Sock; it's held together well and I would also recommend The owner and the employees/partners working have always been very kind and helpful as well. Idk how to describe, but it doesn't have that small business awkward atmosphere of Entering, and Then Feeling the Owner Stare At You as You Navigate a Small Room and Feel Guilty if You Don't Buy Anything. They answer your questions, recommend some products, but otherwise create a very comfortable and helpful atmosphere. All this to say, I have NO complaints and this is a small business worth supporting.
