I paid Simpson Sheet Metal $40k for two minisplit systems, and they helped with Sonoma Clean Power rebates. The second system had a power failure, and they deflected blame to my electrician, who eventually found a loose wire in Simpson's own equipment that caused the problem and cost $500 to diagnose. I advised Simpson it was their mistake, but they have not made an apology or response. Good job overall, but poor accountability and customer service. Today I repeated to John that my review was all true. I submitted the invoice to SCP for a SCP rebate. Simpson was not involved beyond giving me the invoice. John did not apologize for accusing my electrician for Simpson's faulty shutoff box. I was speaking calmly to John, but he hung up on me. read more

Simpson installed a second HVAC unit in my home for the prior owner. Installation included incomplete intake ducting that pulls in air from the attic instead of conditioned space being serviced!. Shame on Simpson who markets themselves at top notch. I will be paying to correct this rip off of the prior owner. read more

Very professional and productive. Able to manage servicing my heater on a cold almost winter day. Thorough and efficient! I would definitely recommend! read more

Last August we got a new furnace 95% efficient model. We got a carrier and were able to finance it with zero interest for 12 months which made the price manageable. We relocated the furnace to the attic. Which free'd up a ton of space in our laundry room. To say I'm pleased with the results would be an understatement. Our heat and air has never worked better!! Our installer was Leo, he and his apprentice killed it on our job!!!! John the manager came out a couple of times to estimate and review our job. John ensured our permits and rebates were all properly taken care of. And the whole project flowed smoothly. Upon the completion I had a few things that I wasn't pleased with. And they came back a few times to clear up / fix my concerns. I'm not the easiest customer to deal with when it comes to these kinds of things. I have OCD and I want things 100% perfect. Which I am happy to say they worked with my OCD and made the job 100% perfect. I highly recommend this company for any of your HVAC needs!!! read more

We could not be more happy with our decision to buy a new heat pump for our cabin from Simpson Sheet Metal. John R was prompt and professional. He listened to our unique installation needs and recommended 2 potential solutions. He even came back a second time to help us firm up our decision. The quote was competitive and included the units complete installation and electrical costs. When they say no hidden fees or charges they mean it. John educated us on potential rebates & tax credits and provided all necessary documentation for us to apply for them. It was also a relief that they took care of the entire permit process. Simpson was also able to fulfill our request for the indoor unit to be painted. White was just not going to work in our antique knotty pine cabin. All we had to do was talk to their painting contractor, pick a color and they did all the rest. The unit arrived perfectly & professionally painted in Acorn and we are thrilled with the look. The installation was flawless. Jeromie & Javi were awesome. Very professional, personable and kept us updated to their progress. It made all the difference to us that they had the mechanical & technical skills of trained union professionals. The unit has been running perfectly as advertised. It will save us time and money rather than relying completely on our wood stove every winter. We also look forward to the cooling aspect of the unit for the rare but sometimes brutal heat of Sonoma County summers. Thank you to everyone at Simpson Sheet Metal! read more

Great service! easy to make an appointmnet on the phone. Jose the technician wa super friendly and helpful, waited for us to find some roof access keys, no extra fee. He found the issue and fixed it on the spot. I will use them again. read more

John did an excellent job planning and designing the job. He was always honest and up front with me and gave me fantastic craftsmen to do my job. Jeromie, Jose and Javier were awesome. All were very responsive and worked through any issues that caused me concern. I feel lucky to have picked Simpson to do my job as I think they are a remarkable company. I have worked with their company now for 45 years for different jobs, and I have never been disappointed. read more

Less than one star if I could! All union shop?? Your install of a new HVAC system lasted three years! A bit too much plumbers putty on the gas fitting nearest the gas shut off valve and "no heat"! The warranty is only honored when you do the repair. Guess you don't care how long the customer has to wait, in the cold! Just put off the warranty work as long as you can! I wouldn't let you idiots change a furnace filter after what I've been through! read more

Just recently had a pretty complete Simpson Sheet Metal experience and except for a couple of miscues on diagnosing our underperforming, older AC unit, their overall performance was great. Once the decision was made to replace older AC unit and Coil, we worked with John on scope of work, price and installation date. On that date, technician Troy, showed up on time, was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, respectful of our property, answered questions, took care of businesses and left us with a new, working Carrier AC unit and Coil. The new system has been working just fine, passed the permit inspection, couldn't be happier. Also, positive experience working with Sarah and Abigail in the office. Dan Miller Santa Rosa read more

After the terrible 2-week heat wave in September we knew we could no longer use the excuse of nature's AC; so we decided to look into having AC installed in our home. With all the supply chain issues I figured if we called in September, we might have it installed before next summer. I called only Simpson as they installed our Carrier gas furnace 8 years ago and we have had no problems with it. Jonatan came out promptly and patiently listened to my requests for three separate estimates; adding AC to the existing gas furnace, installing heat pump hybrid or installing all new electric heat/AC unit. Within days the three estimates arrived. After we mulled over the pros and cons we decided on the hybrid heat pump unit. Jonatan quickly followed up notifying us that there was a backorder on the unit, and kept us advised of the progress. Within a couple weeks, we'd set a date for installation. The installation and conversion took place seamlessly and promptly. All of the guys who work for Simpson were kind, gracious, efficient, and patient with my questions. Bernie and I handled the ethernet switch and wifi setup seamlessly. And we were up and running by the end of yet another hot day. I have nothing but great things to say about Simpson Sheet Metal; not the least of which is they do what they say they will do, at the price they say they will do it. And they cleaned up after themselves!! They do not ghost you when you call. They show up when they say they will. Simpson Sheet Metal is such an incredibly refreshing experience in this age of zero customer service! read more

Found out we needed a replacement gas furnace and needed to install by January 1. Called Simpson and other vendors. Jonatan with Simpson responded professionally and gave us a bid that was the lowest price. And he was the most professional. Scheduled installation just before Xmas. Jeremey and Bernie showed up on time. Installed in a day and a half. Very professional. No messes. And explained how to work the system. A very good experience. read more

Would highly recommend this company! Replaced a furnace and added air conditioning. Simpsons provided excellent service and were on time with quotes, insurance info and installation. They walked me through the whole install process and how to operate the new system. I could not ask for better service and price. A special shout out to Jonatan Villasenor for promptly answering all questions and making sure everything was done professionally. read more

SIMPSON SHEET METAL is the Best. My experience started with a job walk with Jonatan who was very professional and articulate. We agreed on a price which was very fair and we proceeded to installation. We started on the project June 5th and was completed June 6th. The project consisted of a new furnace and AC unit. The installers arrived on a Monday at 8:00 AM. The crew who consisted of Bernie and Javier who were amazing and very knowledgeable on demo and installation. The units were energized and worked perfectly. I would recommend Simpson Sheet Metal a Union Shop to anyone thinking of a upgrade to there HVAC systems. read more

John and Troy were wonderful to work with in the install of my new HVAC system. It was a complicated case as we were remediating for toxic mold inside the old system but John was responsive, communicated and reliable, taking a very stressful situation and helping to make it so much easier. Troy and his team were communicative, timely and professional. They handled all the paperwork wonderfully, clearly explaining warranty and operation of the system to me and providing all documentation I needed. I highly recommend Simpson. :) read more

It was a great experience working with the team with our new furnace. John was our main point of contact and he was super responsive and reliable. We had a clear understanding of the different options and what to expect before the work started. For the furnace installation, we have Bernie and Nick. The job is high quality and thorough. Bernie was very patient at answering our questions. We needed to replace the wire, and the follow up was seamless as the first. Bernie came in on time and set everything in place nicely. He even vacuumed the entire working space so our house is clean! I can't recommend a better pro than Bernie. He really cared about us. read more

Start to finish, this was the BEST home improvement experience we've had locally. In late May we decided to get an estimate to put air conditioning in our home. By June 9, the equipment was installed! The bid was comprehensive and included the permits, equipment, installation and required CA testing. No surprises or add-ons. They didn't try to oversell. The staff was professional, on time, and a pleasure to deal with. When the grille for the newly installed air return didn't match the grille on the existing one, the team noticed immediately and offered to replace the existing one with one that matched. Since it was an unusual size they had to special order and return to install. I hope that we won't need any HVAC work in the near future, but if we did, we wouldn't hesitate to call them. Jonatan, Troy, Jeremy and Bernie were fantastic and the process was seamless. We give Simpson our highest recommendation. read more

We are very pleased we decided to go with Simpson HVAC for our new system. We had a new furnace, A/C and ducting put in the attic and they coordinated for all the old equipment and ducting under the house to be removed. Very professional and very accommodating to our busy household as we had to corral dogs around them and have a baby. They respected all our requests and were still VERY efficient in their work. Even the estimate was very quick and easy and they are among the best priced in the area. Immediately our house air quality feels so much cleaner and fresher. We are very pleased. We will undoubtedly recommend them to anyone who asks and save them the time of getting multiple quotes like we did. Simpson is the best. 6 Stars if I could. read more

Simpson Sheet Metal installed a mini split unit in my home and they were great to deal with. Communication was easy and they answered all my questions thoroughly and with patience. They also coordinated work with the electrician. It made the whole process hassle free. Additionally, Bernie was the one that came out and installed the unit. He was friendly and so respectful of my space. Drop cloths were placed on the floors where the work was being done and on the path taken throughout the house. Before he left, he patiently walked me though how to use the thermostat and program the system. I would not hesitate to hire Simpson Sheet Metal again for work at my house or to recommend them to others. It was a great experience overall. read more

For any heat pump installation (mini-splits, whole house heating/cooling, etc) consider the team from Simpson Sheet Metal. There is a difference between professionals and the others. I've worked on construction sites from Cincinnati in the east to Del Webb's Kuilima Resort on the windward side of Oahu in the west. I'm pretty sure that I've seen every level of tradesperson imaginable. Our home project with Simpson Sheet Metal easily matched the highest level of workmanship and coordination that I've encountered anywhere. The initial visit was by John Roncone who analyzed our needs and provided very clear quotes and answered all our questions. Simpson gave us a date for the install and they kept us updated as the date approached. A journeyman installer and his apprentice did the install. They were on time, worked steadily and did a top rate installation. The job site was left as clean as they had found it. This time it was for a mini-split in our detached guest room to replace the terribly inefficient baseboard heaters. When we can, we'll definitely have them back to replace our main furnace and air conditioner. read more

Installed the heating & A/C system in my relatively new house. The air intake for the system is a large, odd sized rectangle. Can't find air filters in the size at any Home Depot, Lowe's etc. Only Simpson carries the size air filter. And the price is premium. But the staff are always friendly and helpful. I had a crew come to my house to balance the internal ducts for more even flow through the house. The crew arrived on time, did the job pronto. Honest business, good service & great people. read more

The experience I had with Simpson Sheet Metal was amazing in getting our Mitsubishi ducted mini-split HVAC (to replace our wall furnace & wall shaker A/C) installed last week! This week was the first real test of the A/C performance and I'm thrilled to say the system performed flawlessly and easily kept our home at a max 71 degrees while the outside was a 95+ degree sauna! One fear I had beforehand in adding HVAC was noise pollution, and this system is whisper quiet inside and barely audible outside! In particular every employee I directly worked with was top notch. John was wonderful through the quoting process despite me being a difficult prospective customer. As an engineer by trade, I put about 80 hours of research into this before reaching out to Simpson and John happily answered all of my technical questions and concerns. On the install side, Jeromie and Bernie were awesome, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. In particular I appreciated that they handled things like moving furniture out of the way and removing picture frames, dust/debris control, etc...I had taken off work the first day of install assuming I would be responsible for that part and then I ended up with a bonus/easy day off which was a pleasant surprise!  The reason I chose Simpson is during my HVAC research process I settled on the Mitsubishi system (the highest quality system on the market), and when I saw Simpson's Diamond Preferred Status in addition to being on the Press Democrat's "Best of 2019" list I figured I was in good hands. Of course I wanted a lower price, but after seeing the quality of materials and workmanship I am comforted to know we have a quality high performance system instead of a cheap system or one with inferior workmanship or less skilled/experienced installers (HVAC install work is so tedious, experienced/trained installers are critical!). The quality of materials was evident and in no place did I see cutting corners...from the sound dampening built into the return or the better R8 ducts, everywhere I looked I saw "the good stuff" being used and installed in the highest quality way. I am very appreciative of this high quality materials, workmanship, and experience! read more

I replaced my natural gas furnace with a heat pump system. After a thorough search of options on new heat pump systems, I chose the Carrier Infinity system for it's great efficiency rating. I then started the process of getting bids. I went with Simpson Sheet metal for their fair pricing and great reputation. Working closely with Jonathan and Bernie and crew I can say without reserve that you'd be hard press to find a better business to work with. It only took the 2 days to remove the old system and install the new one. Jonatan came several times to make sure all was going well but due to the competence of Bernie and crew all went smoothly. High marks!! read more

I manage ten units of rental properties. When a furnace needs maintenance, repair or replacement, I call John Roncone at Simpson Sheet Metal, (SSM). SSM prices are competitive, but with an advantage that helped me feel in good hands. Some years ago I asked John "why" Simpson Sheet Metal is a better choice for furnace installation. It comes down to a distinction that most folks would never consider, that is, Simpson Sheet Metal employees are, among other things, continually trained in installation technique, evolving technologies, and that SSM employees are paid their worth; a good living wage in the demanding jobs they perform. To point: John explained how easily a furnace can be installed incorrectly, right down to how its seated and calibrated, which, if done incorrectly, can account for call-back repairs. These distinctions and the fact that Simpson has been in operation a long time, coupled with great customer service is what makes me feel confident when I'm making such investments on furnace equipment. read more

When I ran our furnace during the smokey filled bad air days from the "Camp Fire" the venting seemed to pull some of the smoke inside. Since we purchased our furnace from Simpson Sheet Metal, I called for some advice on what to do to minimize this problem. The person who answered sounded concerned but had no answer so she said she would have someone call me back. In 10 minutes a tech person at Simpson called and he helped me work out a fix as I described the model of the furnace and where it was installed in our home. He didn't say, "Oh you must make a service appointment" or "Sorry, can't help you", just sussed out the problem and came up with a solution! To me that is great customer service! read more

Positive Experience All Around. After installing roof-top solar, we made the commitment to change out our 30+ year old propane heater for a clean-energy heat pump. Living in the country, we were fortunate to get bids from several HVAC companies. John Roncone of Simpson Sheet Metal gave us an estimate after we had received some proposals from other companies with eye-popping costs. He investigated our existing duct work and system as the others had. He felt that our duct work, while not modern, would work, and we could change it later if we felt a need. The estimate we got a day later, just before Thanksgiving, was considerably lower than other estimates for similar systems. A rebate from the sheet metal union was a plus. We chose the Simpson proposal and their great crew of workers: Bernie, Nate and Ryan (electrician) came the next Thursday to remove the old and install the new system. They were jovial with each other and pleasant and informative in their interactions with my husband and me. Equipment under the house and outside were set up efficiently and cleanly by midafternoon. The lights and outlets Ryan installed in the crawl space helped the crew and will aid future maintenance. Our new Mitsubishi heat pump warms our coastal house well, although we need a bit of patience on those mornings below 40 degrees. Simpson contracts with Archon Energy for the permitting, Title 24 HERS test, and final system inspection from Marin County. That all went smoothly. It was a most pleasant experience working with Simpson Sheet Metal. read more

Simpson Sheet Metal way outbid the HVAC companies for the mini split they just installed in our granny unit. They also installed the ducting for our range hood. Excellent service from my phone call through the invoice. I called for a furnace check up and asked about duct cleaning. Though they don't offer that service they were quick with a recommendation and phone number. The tech notion (Emilio, I believe) was very kind and professional. Asked if I had questions and described in detail the tasks he was going to perform. He asked how often I changed the air filters, about the carbon monoxide detector and recommended a second detector due to our multi level house. The service was within the 1 1/2 hour time window given during my initial call and his checkup was done within the timeframe given. I was able to see the invoice on his computer and pay by credit card with the receipt either emailed or texted. Great service that I would definitely use again read more

Tried calling them 2 weeks ago and left a voicemail regarding needing a new chimney cap (small job) never received a call back. Tried calling again today and told the girl who answered the phone about never receiving a call back. She said the person I needed to talk to was out of the office for the moment but would call me back when he returned. Never received a call back. Poor customer service. I realize everyone is short staffed and are busy but providing good customer service (returning calls) is important if you want good reviews and future business. Being a business owner myself I know how important customers are. Even if we can't provide service to customers that call, we still get right back to them so they can move on to the next company that can provide the service they need. It used to be whether a job was big or small companies were happy to provide service. Is this how the new generation operates??? read more

Simpson Sheet Metal HVAC was recommended by a friend who had just had a heat pump and mini-split system installed and raved about the company and the individuals to me. I had already gotten three quotes from other area companies (I was in need of replacing ancient and malfunctioning baseboards and had been using a Quadrafire wood stove to heat my house), but decided to get a quote from Simpson and it turned out to be the lowest, with the best warranty terms, and the most "hand-holding" in terms of permit, rebates and payment. I also love the fact that it's a union shop because that means a well-educated and well-treated employee. Lead installer Jose and assistant Chino did a fabulous job, and as others have said, they left everything perfectly clean and also answered my many questions with patience and good humor. John Roncone managed the job and designed the system, and has been an amazing communicator as well. Nothing but raves for Simpson! What a relief! read more
