My root-canal appointment had to be cancelled a few times, as I waiting for the Canadian Dental Care Plan Card Enrollment to be evaluated and for the Card to arrive by mail. Sydney, the receptionist was extremely helpful by reassuring me that I was able to reschedule without issues. Dr. Ros was extremely professional and my root-canal was not painful.

He said we need to do a root canal now. So I made an appointment but I missed it due to a family emergency. So after taking the Antibiotic for a week, the pain came back after a month and I made an appointment to see him. I walked in the clinic, from his secretary to dental hygienist and the dentist himself were after me for missing the appointment and dr yu clearly said "I am not lecturing you but as business person I lost the sale and had to pay my staff. You should have given us 24 hr notice to cancel so I could have used that time and I lost so much money because of you guys....and you got the estimate for your daughters Invisalign and never got them done". We have been going to this dentist since 2002, we don't have any dental insurance and we have to pay each time from my pocket. For my daughter I paid whatever the consultation was but he quoted an amount that I couldn't afford at that moment so we never anything done from him or any others dentist. For my husband he said it will be cheaper if you just get filling done for now but you need a root canal as it would be cheaper to just have the filling done. He charged me 380 dollars and for root canal it would only be another 300. He didn't give me any price point if though I asked him twice. And now the pain I had gone through for about 2 weeks and now again I am in pain or a week. Who is accountable for the pain I am going through. He just cares for money that's it. He is just a business man not a dentist.

He identified issues that I had previous knowledge of from other dentists, but where he differed was he did not recommend any expensive procedures. It was refreshing sitting with a dentist and not feeling like I was getting sold something. Without mentioning the reception and hygienists by name all I will say is they were great. They were warm and welcoming. Going to the dentist is never at the top of my list of things to do, but my experience at Terra Nova Dental Centre is about as good as it gets. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

So when I developed an abscess today the pain out weighed my fear and I called Dr Wong's clinic. I explained my phobia and current dental issue and they assured me that they would take good care of me. At first I thought they were just luring me in to inflict pain upon me equal to listening to a person with tourettes read "40 Shades of Grey". I was wrong, the whole staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and not be ashamed of fear and state of dental care. They got me in on a busy day within 20 minutes of my mumbling phone call as well. While Dentists still freak me the hell out, Dr Wong is an exception, kind, laid back and not one to attempt to pad a bill. He made me feel like I did not have a phobia at all. However, recently, I had an amazingly positive experience receiving treatment from Dr. Stepanian at Reach Clinic. I needed 4 fillings, three of them in difficult to access locations. Dr. Stepanian did an amazing job of helping me to be comfortable with minimal pain, while working confidently and efficiently with her assistant to get the job done efficiently and with care and attention. I felt the knowledge, strength and experience in her hands as she worked on fixing my teeth. Thank you to Dr. Stepanian, her assistant, and the Reach Dental Clinic team for making my experience smooth and even pleasant! I never thought I would say that about a visit to the dentist. Upon my insisting to speak to the dentist who did the extraction they called him after arguing with me for a while. The dentist corrected the charge, however the receptionist still billed the wrong charge to my insurance, and only after me contacting my insurance providers and me sending them the printed proofs of this the insurance company corrected the charges. After experiencing this, I checked the history of my billings, only to find that they did same thing in 2023. In short - they are cheats.

They even offered me a cold beverage and gave me a short shoulder massage before starting my cleaning. My teeth feel great and Dr. Clease was so nice! Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. Staff always remember me by asking about small details of my personal life that we converse about. The doctors and hygienists have good communication walking through what they are doing during the procedure. I've also once had to cancel my appointment last minute due to falling ill, however there was miscommunication so my cancellation never got through. The Front Desk staff never blamed or gave me grief, but replied professionally and positively - which is very hard to come by these days! Another example of great customer service was that I had a procedure done which had a complication so it was referred to a specialist. Without even asking, they offered to waive the procedural charges on Fraserview Densit's end completely. Going to the dentist can be a daunting experience, but you are in good hands with these well trained staff!
