We've dined here a few times now and they operate very efficiently and the waitlist process is very organized. Be aware though that the wait times can get pretty long during peak lunch hours so I would suggest you go early (they have limited resys for lunch time). The food menu is huge and per the manager they've taken inspiration from various parts of south India and put it together and while they also have a North Indian section, you go here for what the name says "South". Dosas are excellent, the thali is very creative and the chutneys are so fun. Staff is polite and always on point. Keep up the great work team!

If you want to feel a family atmosphere with healthy authentic Indian food, this is your place! I enjoyed the Ghee Cashew Khara Ven Pongal and Masala Dosa. It's simply delicious and comforting. Usha was our server, and she was great!

The customer service was unwelcoming and cold! I wanted to buy a chai latte but I guess that wasn't enough business for them.

You can tell the ingredients are quality and the food is made with intention -- flavorful, satisfying, and not overly processed, which I really appreciate. The menu has a nice variety, whether you're fully plant-based or just looking to eat cleaner. Portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh rather than heavy or gimmicky. Service was friendly, and the vibe feels community-minded -- the kind of place you want to see succeed in Frisco. A few small refinements could take it to the next level, but overall it's a great option when you want good vegan food that feels nourishing. I'm glad to have a plant-based spot like this locally, and I'll definitely be back. Supporting businesses that prioritize fresh, plant-based eating matters.

Listen! there are vegan restaurants, and then there's Chopping Roots. What I experienced here…read morewasn't just good for vegan food... it was culinary excellence, period. This place is cooking with purpose, flavor, and a boldness that puts even the most seasoned soul food spots on notice. Let's talk about that Fried Chick'n. I've eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life real, seasoned, Southern, bone-in, boneless, you name it. And not one has made me stop mid-bite and say, "Wait... this is vegan?" The outer crisp was perfection golden, light, and just enough crunch to command attention. But the inside? Soft, juicy, meaty. They didn't just imitate chicken. They improved it. Fool me any day if this is the standard. But I didn't stop there. I went full Sunday plate on a Saturday: Cornbread dressing: Moist, savory, and nostalgic in the best way. Yams: Like dessert, but not overly sweet. Silky smooth and soul-warming. Collard greens: Seasoned like somebody's auntie who don't measure nothing but knows exactly what she's doing. Mac and cheese: Creamy, rich, layered, no shortcuts, no weird vegan aftertaste, just yes. Everything on that plate was so good my foodie partner had to physically stop me from diving in face-first. Had they not pulled me back, I would've left with nothing but crumbs, a smear of yam glaze, and regrets for not documenting the magic. The space itself at the Frisco Fresh Market is welcoming laid-back but intentional. The service and energy is grounded in community, flavor, and something sacred that goes beyond food. This isn't just about being plant-based, it's about being rooted. Chopping Roots is proof that vegan soul food doesn't have to compromise. It just has to be done right. And they absolutely did it right. Frisco, you've been blessed. Don't sleep on this spot. #HayiaSophiaFaves #ChoppingRoots #VeganSoulDoneRight #FlavorOverEverything

Had to put this on Yelp to get the word out! I got the vegan fried chicken (Southern fried oyster mushrooms on the menu). Yum! The texture was so realistic that my non-vegan mom was sure it was actually chicken. And as a plant based eater of 8+ years I was sort of worried like I did when Impossible burger came out! Very real. Almost too real, haha! I took some home and ate it with some vegan mashed potatoes and gravy. It was HEAVEN. I will definitely be back for vegan fried chicken and vegan mac and cheese next time!

This carnivore was very pleasantly surprised. I was along for the ride so I honestly don't know…read morewhat was ordered. What I can say is that this place was happening. I've never seen so many brown people in my life in Dallas so you know it's legit. The wait was clearly an indicator of the popularity of this place and I could not believe how it went on and on inside. I should've counted how many people were working! The little chips were fun to munch on and I admit that I definitely had fun putting them on my fingers. I thought this was going to be healthy but no- the oil and the butter was insane. Between the roti and the crepe thing and all of the dipping sauces, just delicious. Will absolutely come back! Last thing, be careful as the floor is a bit slippery.

As someone who is always on the lookout for authentic Indian food, especially the kind that reminds…read moreyou of home, Bharat Bhavan had been on my radar for a while. A place that promises a mix of South Indian classics along with Indo-Chinese favorites always piques my curiosity. So we decided to stop by and give it a try. Located in Frisco, Texas it is fairly easy to find. Parking was also manageable, which is always a plus. The place has a casual and welcoming vibe, nothing overly fancy, but comfortable and inviting. Even on a Tuesday, the place was packed. Fortunately, we had called and reserved a place. The décor leans toward a traditional Indian restaurant feel with a simple setup that keeps the focus on the food. We were soon seated and provided with Fryums, which we finished within a minute. The server wad happy to answer questions about the menu. We decided to explore a variety of items from different sections of the menu and the food came out at a reasonable pace. We ordered: 1 Mushroom ghee roast 1 Baby corn manchurian 1 Onion chilli uttapam 1 Benne dosa 1 Chole bhature 1 Set dosa with salna 1 Jackfruit biryani The 'Mushroom ghee roast', was truly excellent with great flavors. The mushrooms were nicely coated in the rich, spicy ghee roast masala, delivering that bold South Indian punch. Next came the 'Baby corn Manchurian',, a classic Indo-Chinese favorite. The baby corn had a good crunch and the sauce had that familiar tangy-spicy flavor you associate with hakka cuisine. For the dosa section, we tried the 'benne dosa', which had a nice buttery flavor and crisp texture- simple yet satisfying. The 'Set dosa with Salna' was soft and fluffy, and the salna added a nice aromatic gravy element to the dish. The 'Onion chilli uttapam' was thick, soft, and generously topped with brown onions, making it a comforting bite. All the above South Indian dishes were great but what blew us away was the 3 chutneys: Tamarind, Spicy Tomato Chilli and Green Peanut. They were absolutely delicious and took the food to another level. The Sambhar however was decent but not that great. Moving to the North Indian side, the 'Chole bhature' came with fluffy bhature and well-spiced chole. We absolutely loved the depth of flavor. Finally, the 'Jackfruit biryani' was an interesting and enjoyable dish. The jackfruit worked surprisingly well as a meat substitute, absorbing the biryani spices nicely and adding a unique texture. However, some of us found it to be bit more on the tangy side. To Foodies: If you enjoy exploring a wide range of Indian flavors, from South Indian breakfast classics to Indo-Chinese appetizers and hearty North Indian dishes, this place is worth checking out. The menu offers variety, and it's a good spot if you want to try multiple styles of Indian cuisine in one sitting. To Management: You have a solid and diverse menu that covers many Indian favorites. Continuing to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation will go a long way. A few standout dishes highlighted on the menu or recommendations from staff could also help first-time visitors navigate the wide selection. Overall Rating: 8.4 / 10 Signing off: Rahul V.S. aka CanIndian Foodie
