Saturday afternoon lunch
Blair C.

I had the Emerald Thai and Beth had the Red Curry with Thai salad. Excellent Thai egg rolls and the best crab Rangoon I have had in years! We can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! Medium was mild for me, so next time I'll go for spicy!

Simply Siam this is how busy the restaurant was.

Decent ambiance. Fried rice is good and spice level is as we ordered. Service was ok.

Excellent Thai food. The egg rolls are perfect and the Paneng Curry is one of my favorite soups on this planet.

Jaruwan Thai Cuisine Former Siam Cuisine - Vegetable spring rolls

Siam Cuisine used to be the top spot in the Omaha area to get Thai Cuisine; they were strong in the…read morecultural flavors that I expect and enjoy from Thai food but now it seems that they have changed ownership and have americanized their entire menu. Before a spice level 2 on a meal was reasonably warm but now it is almost sickly sweet with no actual flavor. Their pho is bland; their Pad Thai is too sweat with not enough unique flavor and honestly it is just severely disappointing compared to what I remember. The service is quick and courteous and the ambiance inside is peaceful but overall this was just a disappointment to return to this restaurant after so many years.

I had lunch at Siam on a Friday. I came in at 1:45. The woman who greeted me was the owner I…read morebelieve. She asked if I was there for the buffet because it would be ending at 2. I said no, I can order from the menu. She and the gentleman server just kind of looked at me so I asked, "Do I seat myself?" It was my first visit so I didn't know. The gentleman said "Yes, sit wherever you'd like." I sat down at a table for 2. The interior is a bit small but as it was later in the afternoon there were plenty of seating options. Thai music videos were playing on a television and there were Thai photos and artwork on the walls. The gentleman who greeted me took my drink and appetizer order. When he brought my iced tea, he took my entree order. I have had Pad Thai two other places and got 5/10 heat rating both times. Both were spicy, but not overly so. When I got my spring rolls, I was excited to try them. I dipped them in the peanut sauce and took a bite. They were good but something didn't taste quite right. I finished one roll and started on a second one, trying to figure out why they tasted a little off to me. After a couple bites, a piece of cilantro came out of the roll onto my plate. That explained it. I'm one of those people for whom cilantro tastes bad/soapy. So the rolls are probably good, as long as you like cilantro! When my pork Pad Thai came out, it looked amazing! It tasted really good, too--I ate the entire plate full! It was much spicier/hotter than the two I had tried at other restaurants, but I liked it spicy. The only drawback was that I finished my glass of iced tea pretty quickly, given the spiciness, and did not get a refill until about ten minutes later. The gentleman who served me was taking down the buffet and wiping down tables, which is fine, but he didn't come check on the two tables that were still in the restaurant. The woman came in from the front entry area after about ten minutes and refilled my glass with water. I drank it, and was not offered another refill until a different server came with my check, another ten-fifteen minutes later. Over all, the Pad Thai was excellent, the spring rolls were probably good for cilantro people, but I do wish I'd been able to get more to drink.

I think what brings me back to this place is the beautiful interior and the affordable dishes. The flavor in the dish I had most recently, pad see eiw, had a rich flavor and delicious veggies that I enjoyed. The server who helped me was also very patient, kind, and had a vibrant personality. Lovely place!

Oh Tasty Thai, you've broken my heart…read more I've been going to the Platte Woods location for years, and like many longtime customers, I adored Dom and his wife. Their retirement is well deserved, but their touch is definitely missed. I believe a family member has taken over the Liberty location, and unfortunately, the taste, portions, and overall quality just aren't the same. I was so disappointed when I got home to eat. The pho lacked flavor, the meat was well-done instead of tender, and there weren't even any jalapeños included. The crab rangoon was even more disappointing. It used to be creamy, flavorful, and generously filled -- something I genuinely loved. This time, it felt like I was eating a fried wonton with the faintest hint of something resembling cheese. Barely any filling at all. It's 100% changed. The staff was very pleasant, which made it harder to write this review. I truly hope they can bring back the quality and consistency that made this place special -- especially in Liberty, where customers know good food and expect it. I'm rooting for them, but this visit really missed the mark.

Stopped by Mercy Thai Restaurant and had a really solid meal…read more Started with the fresh spring rolls -- super crisp veggies, fresh herbs, and perfectly cooked shrimp. The dipping sauce had a nice sweet and tangy balance that tied it all together. You can tell everything was made fresh. The soup was just what I wanted too. Light but really flavorful broth, plenty of herbs and green onions, and comforting without feeling heavy. Service was friendly, food came out quick, and the overall vibe was relaxed and easy. Great local spot when you're in the mood for fresh, flavorful Thai food. Would definitely come back.

Honestly I was really disappointed with Mercy Thai…read more The chicken wings were completely flavorless. They literally just seemed battered in panko and fried with no seasoning at all. 0/10. The crab rangoons sounded good from the description -- cream cheese, crab pieces, onion, and carrots -- but they were WAY too sweet for my taste. Not to mention there were none of the ingredients described inside?! Seems like it was only cream cheese and sugar. Then the sweet chili sauce that came with them was super watery and just made it worse. 2/10 overall. I also tried my boyfriend's drunken noodles and... mid at best Definitely not something I'd come back for. Maybe other menu items are better, but based on what I tried, I personally wouldn't recommend it.
