We were vacationing on Jekyll Island, and the rear camera and light on my wife's iPhone 12 stopped working. We realized that there were only two days left on the warranty. We needed to get it repaired immediately to avoid paying out of pocket. She attempted to call the nearest Apple Store in Jacksonville to confirm parts availability before we drove the hour and a half each way, but could only reach the Apple call center. After a periods on hold and being transferred around, they could not confirm that the part was in stock. She then called Simply Mac in St. Simons. She immediately reached someone in the store who confirmed that the part that was most likely needed was in stock. We drove the 30 minutes from Jekyll. After a brief wait while they finished up with other customers, they looked at her phone and confirmed which part was needed and that they did indeed have it in stock. They said that it would be ready in a couple of hours. We took the opportunity to grab lunch down by the pier and walked around a bit. True to their word, they called my phone about an hour and a half after dropping it off to inform us that her phone was ready. Her phone has been working flawlessly for the last few weeks. Rudeness and INCOMPETENCE have a new name...Simply Mac 26 Market Street Suite 116, St Simons, GA 31522 Yesterday, I spent 4 hours with APPLE Support and they could not fix my MAC. They recommend I go to a location for further review. The Apple store was a 3 day wait or I could drive 1.5 from my house in Jacksonville to Simply Mac and would be seen the following day. Apple scheduled the appointment for me. Upon arrival, I waited 30 minutes to be helped. At that point I knew I was interrupting Hunter and his managers' day. They could not find my account Business Apple Care. They finally check in my machine and they told me it would not be ready for 7-14 days. WHAT are you Kidding Me! I drove an hour and half and this is what you have to offer! The apple store always fixes equipment the same day. I told the SIMPLY MAC Rude person that Apple scheduled the appointment and they did not tell me that. He said I should have called. Is that how this works now? Apple schedules the appointment and I have to call to find out how incompetent SIMPLY MAC is? At this point he is belligerent and mumbling something about they are not APPLE and why it was ok and they had other customers. A momentary bright spot. He offered me expedited service for $50. I am in so deep, I would have gladly paid the money. He said they would diagnose it. I asked if he would then fix it. A sneer and, "no it will be 7-14 days". I did just tell you APPLE Support Diagnosed it yesterday for 4 hours and I detailed what is wrong with it. 3 senior citizen ladies needed help at an Apple store so we stopped in at Simply Mac. Having had bad experiences at other Apple stores, we were pleasantly surprised. We were waited on immediately by Ryan. He was simply The Best!! All 3 of us had questions on an iPad and the I-watch and car chargers. Although their inventory didn't allow us to buy right there at that time an iPad or I-watch, Ryan spent much time explaining all the kinds and differences in the various models of both. He was great!!! I bought an I-watch band and a car charger from him. What a joy it was to get so much info. from such a knowledgeable young man. This is the letter I just wrote to Peachmac: Darryl, A few things you should know about from a recent customer's experience at one of your stores. 1. Employees are quoting customers higher prices than the actual cost for products still covered by Applecare. I was quoted $199 to fix my iPod when I should have been quoted the actual cost of $135. When I asked why it was so much higher than what Apple said it would be, I was told to wait while he went in the back to "check". When he returned I was told he would "match Apple's price". If you're an authorized repair center and an item is covered by Applecare, the price should be the same. That's dishonest. 2. When I went on Yelp to check out the store after this experience I noticed there was a single review. The person who posted it is the manager of the store, though she doesn't disclose that fact. Again, that's dishonest. Your employees at this store are taking advantage of its customers. When I gave this feedback to Leigh Anne, the manager, I said most of her customers probably thought Peachmac was an Apple store, which she affirmed. Knowing that people think you're an Apple store and then up-charging them on covered products is dishonest and, quite frankly, theft. I'm not sure what your agreement is with Apple, but you should review it and review these practices with your managers. UPDATE: After giving Leigh Anne this same feedback in the store, she changed her 'review' to indicate she is an employee. Kudos to being responsive. read more

For being an apple authorized retailer they know little about Apple products. The salesmen know little about Apple and there seems to be one over worked tech in the back that has all the knowledge. Any time I asked a question they had to run to the back to ask the tech. Also I was quoted 5-7 business days for an upgrade to my MacBook Pro that takes 20 minutes max to accomplish. I would rather drive and hour and a half to Jacksonville and deal with an Apple Store then go back here. The store does have a good selection of cases and accessories, just know what you need because they will not be able to help. read more

Every time I have been to the store (about six visits), I have received great service. They are polite and proactive in their assistance I am older and need a lot of patient explanation and the young men are very considerate. I've been to peach Mac twice now once with water spilled on a laptop! They opened it up, wiped it out and gave it back to me it right away: there was no charge and it recovered. This week I took an old iMac in for help getting an update and they worked with me immediately and charged me only $15. While I was there I observed some attentive service and pleasant atmosphere. Hey all, don't know what is going on with this outfit but they don't seem to have much for product. Wanted to buy an Xs phone and an iPad with cellular. I told them immediately what I wanted and the young man suggested something else. More expensive of course. I said no I wanted an iPad not an iPad Pro. He then told me they didn't have any with cellular. Ok, going thru Apple for that. So on to the Xs. I had told them we were with ATT (they had an ATT sign up). They bring out a 64 and a 256. I told them I wanted the 256 with the AppleCare+. They then told me I would have to take it down to ATT to have it activated. What? I asked why because I had just bought my phone a few weeks earlier at this same store. They told me ATT had cancelled their contract. So what's the deal with the sign I asked the clerk? He fumbled with words saying that was "false.... uh they should take that sign down". Another clerk came up and said they could put the old SIM card in the new phone and that would activate it. Why would you use an old card that could be faulty in a new phone? Ok fine. They couldn't help us so we said we wanted to return it. We never touched the box much less the phone. So the refund was processed at 11:23. The original transaction was at 10:59. Full disclosure the clerk opened the box. Because of that they charged a $45 restocking fee. We asked to speak to a manager and he told us that was the way it was because "people like cellophane, that's why they buy Apple". Well I don't know about anyone else, but that cellophane goes in the trash, I buy Apple because of the quality and the security they provide. Needless to say, it will be a long time before we go back. By the way, while my husband was waiting to speak to the manager, I was on the phone with the Apple Store in Jacksonville and had our phone and iPad ordered, paid for and ready for us to pick up. Definitely worth the drive for the customer service and getting the products you want, not just what they have in stock. One star is generous. read more

Wish I could give a review without a star rating. I drove 5 hours straight to get to the this place. I was told that if a repair could not be made, I would be able to get a replacement based on inventory. Well this store was not able to service my iPhone and I was told that it would be sent to Apple and when Apple repaired it replaced it I would receive my phone back. This was August 8th! They sent my phone to Apple and Apple didn't get it until the 12th.. on the 19th Apple shipped the phone back to Simply Mac; through this whole process I have not been able to get clear communication from this place and finally I reached someone on the phone today and I'm being told that it will be another 3-7 days before I receive my phone once they receive it from Apple. My problem with them is communication of how the process should flow and the realistic timeframes. All of this as supposed to be a week process and no one told me that Apple wasn't shipping it back to me directly. My advice to anyone that needs service; Stay away from this place if you value your time. read more

I will NEVER step foot in these doors again. I'm not sure they could have done worse if they tried. First off, they are completely incompetent and have no idea how to help you. Then they told me I could have my MacBook done and back by "Thursday or Friday morning at latest" which was crucial because I made it VERY clear that I needed it by Friday. Well of course they completely blew it. Not only did they not finish it on time, THEY HADNT EVEN TOUCHED MY MACBOOK BY FRIDAY MORNING. once they finally decided to finish my MacBook and called me I came to pick it up. They blew the estimate COMPLETELY out of the water. I understand a different from $60 to $80 or so, but a jump from $60 to $180?!!!! Seriously?! I have no clue how they are in business. They're manager is about to GET IT. oh and I forgot to say that they completely lied to me saying that the drive that I bought was compatible with Windows. I hope they get robbed of every penny. I have had mostly good experiences here however my past experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth to ever return. I brought in a hard drive for them to look at. I was told that it would cost nothing unless they could open it up and transfer the data to a new drive which I was happy to do., If they couldn't I was told it would cost me nothing. To my surprise when I came to pick it up they were charging $70 for them to look at it..... I don't mind spending the money, but being lied to is complete garbage. I was speechless and felt Cheated. Don't bother. Just go to the Jacksonville Apple store. The tech here is minimally useful, uncommunicative & misdiagnosed the problem. Took 1 week to figure this out. Ended up just ordering a new machine & still when they supplied the back-up from the hard drive, it contained virtually none of the data. read more

My experience with Simply Mac on St. Simons Island was simply wonderful! My iPhone 6 died on a Sunday. I arrived at Simply Mac at 10am the next day. Steve Applegate greeted me warmly and addressed my problems quickly. By 2pm that day, I had a new phone in-hand with all my data restored. And since it was under warranty, there was no charge. The Simply Mac team was welcoming, techno-savy and, most importantly, passionate about solving my problem. I'm happy we have such a talented and customer-centered operation here on SSI.
