When we walked in, I can't tell you how excited we were to see it in the cooler. The top book was chocolate and the bottom layer was lemon blueberry. It was easy to separate the two flavors for serving. The lemon blueberry layer was absolutely fantastic (I was too full for chocolate after!), great lemon flavor and a generous filling of a blueberry preserve. I enjoyed both the colored fondant and the butter cream frosting, and it was just the right amount. They helped us load and were super friendly during pick up. Everybody at the party asked about the cake and we all loved it!

The only thing more amazing than the attention to detail and creativity is the cake itself! Cakes To You has made so many cakes, cookie trays, and desserts for our family functions over the years and they always receive rave reviews, so it was a no brainer to go to them for our wedding cake too. The selection of unique flavors, from champagne to butter pecan, made choosing our cake so hard. Luckily, we were able to make each layer a different flavor! We especially loved the champagne and vanilla almond. The final product was a work of art and absolutely blew us and our guests away.

Sam made our wedding cake and it was BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS!…read more Which would already earn her a 5 star review. But on top of that, she was a dream to work with. Very responsive, helpful and accommodating. Picking vendors during COVID-19 can be very challenging. We were unable to do a tasting in-person, so Sam got creative with a cake tasting to-go box for us to pick-up and taste on our own. She packaged it up really cute and helped us not feel like we were missing out on a step of fun wedding planning. As a Bride, when you're balancing a million vendors to have someone who is kind and super on top of it to alleviate some stress, it's huge! She dropped off the cake on time and even worked with our florist to bring all the elements all together for us so I could mentally check it off my list. I can't thank her enough. It was so beautiful! I would highly recommend her to anyone!

We mentioned that we had visited before under the original owner, but the prices had kept us from going back. She practically attacked us by saying that food is expensive and she was going to be doing things exactly the same way as they had been done before! We kept our cool and politely asked about some of the muffins. But her Aggressive Rudeness was such a turn off, that no one in our group wanted to buy anything!! When this bakery was under the ownership of Kevin, they had a Dessert Jar in a nice Glass cup for $8 This new owner now sells the same thing but has downgraded to a Plastic cup for $9- a dollar more! So disappointed that this Chardon bakery will NOT be a place for any of us!!! But Mavalee... you better remember that customer service can make or Break a business... We will continue to give our patronage to The Coffee Post in Chesterland! The staff is so nice and actually act like they want our business!!! AND the prices are reasonable with delicious food and coffee We hope a good bakery with great food and friendly service will come to Chardon one day. But Mavalees Bakery is NOT it.

Let me start by saying that the Hudson, OH area is fortunate to have a true cake artist like Karin…read moreof "Cakes by Karin". My wife grew up in the area and we returned not just for the holiday season but for the 1st Bday of our daughter. 1st Bday's should be special and we were happy to be able to celebrate it among family. We of course wanted to buy an nice cake for her bday and found "Cakes by Karin" on Yelp. My daughters theme animal throughout her first year of life is a sloth and we wanted to incorporate that theme into her Bday cake. So we found some pics on-line, of what we wanted the cake to look like based on her theme. What we chose was something of a "fantasy" cake...as in no one can possibly do this right? Ultimately reached out to Karin with a pic and the question, "can you make a cake to look like this?" Not living in the Hudson, OH area our communications with Karin were via email or txt. She said yes and gave us a price...we settled on the pick up date and paid on line. "Easy peasy lemon squeeze" as my 15 yr old would say. I have to admit I was nervous the day we scheduled to pick up the cake. My wife talked about a show called "Nailed it ", and how this cake (for our daughters first bday) could go the way of the cakes on the show...in other words badly...we were both nervous. Like a true professional the cake was in an amazing box wrapped with ribbon and a candle...the cake looked so amazing we almost cried. Of course it tasted perfect. Everything about the cake was impressive...everyone who attend the party was impressed lots of o's and ah's to go around...for the cake. My daughter is not going to remember this specific bdabut the pics prove that went the extra mile for her first bday...it was all helped along by Karin at "cakes by Karin". As far as I'm concerned she a treasure and if you have a "fantasy " cake you want realized...I doubt anyone in the area can to a better job!

Beyond expectation. This is one of those special graces that you feel like only you know about…read more In 2021, Veronica and I started planning our May 2022 wedding. When it came time to try the cakes, we selected around 5 top rated cake places to try in the area. Frosted Cake Art was one of them. Mind you, before I review the cakes, know that Seema (Frosted Cake Art) is a home based business going up against long standing bakers, and the wedding venue itself which has over a dozen fine dining restaurants. We cannot complain about the other venues we sampled, however Seema's cakes were an obvious cut above the rest. "The Cake Tasting" itself was a beautiful experience, trying several frostings, cake types, and many fillings. Elegant and organized "The cakes" are consistently moist while still keeping their interior structure. We like to headline that point. Rare "The frostings" are ALL good. no alkaline taste, no granules, no empty taste, not hard like cold butter, nor are they too light and whippy. Smoothest texture you have ever experienced. Rare "The fillings" are exceptional. We wanted to use everyone of them. Even the more dramatic flavors we considered, although we didn't come in to the tasting thinking we would. All-in-all, for a small 75 person wedding, we decided to go with a multi flavored, 5 layer behemoth of a cake because we just wanted everyone to experience greatness. Greatness, folks Seema is a true professional. Seamless Seema. Aside from being a good baker, she has an excellent format of execution that sees the job through from beginning to end. She is patient and literally listens and applies all the details. She uses digital and actual templates throughout the process, willing to change and offer advice. Some fancy decorations we used....One was a "floating" top layer, giving a great effect. Another was a false cake layer where there was a statue of the bride and groom in a tunnel. She molded the bride and groom to spec. Seema used a picture of us both, plus a picture of the wedding dress. It was spot on and we plan on preserving this for life. God bless you, Seema. Add to that the size cake they say feeds 30 people caused us to have to buy a grocery store cake just to have enough. They should clarify that. I prefer guests to have more than a shaving size slice of cake. The grocery store cake actually was eaten quicker. Also the writing on the cake was embarrassing to present. It was not professional at all, I was shocked and pink and blue icing for a man? Nope, don't trust their judgement . Shameful for the cost . All in all, approx $180 for a cake that didn't 't go around and 2 dozen cup cakes. The cupcakes were pretty enough to look at , but also sickeningly sweet. (All the flavors of the day. ) Suffice it to say, the amount left over and put in the trash by the guests said everything to me. I expected way more . Never again ! We've given them two tries. They failed big time!
