Let me start by saying that I have been a long time customer of Clay's. I have purchased a zero…read moreturn mower & numerous pieces of Stihl equipment, as well as utilizing their service department. But my recent experience for the repair of a Stihl Kombi hedge trimmer was vert disappointing. On my call ahead and at drop off, there was no mention of needing the head unit to service. I run several other attachments, so I needed it to be in service while I waited for repair (quoted as 2 weeks). The next day I received a text that a Stihl dealer had no way of attaching it to a unit. So, I made my second trip there in 3 days to deliver the unit. I received a text to pick up the equipment and my request for blade sharpening was not "noted on the ticket" or performed. And to top it off, upon attaching the unit at home, the head is on almost backwards. I reached out to the general manager via text, Mr. Mack McCorkle, and there was no accountability taken, instead telling me that I did not review my service ticket & the head was brought in that way. At the end of the day, the head adjustment is simple, but what's really disappointing is the lack of accountability or customer focused service and offers to rectify the situation. I will certainly look elsewhere for my next service and purchase.

The emails I've received are always terse, spartan of any seeming customer service experience and nobody knows anything about anything. I think maybe they are just a place that sells these things. Like how you can also get a pack of gum at a gas station. I don't expect the gas station guy to know much about Wrigley's products. Which is bad because a lot of what these mowers need start at the store. They were supposed to supply me with a pin code to begin installation - never happened. They told me to call Husqvarna. They were supposed to update the firmware BEFORE selling this thing to anyone. The lack of a pin code means they didn't. So, when I'm done handling their business by myself, I'll need the firmware updated...AT THE SHOP WHERE I BOUGHT IT. And there's a 100% chance they don't know how. Okay bye.

Honestly, here is what I found: The…read morestaff is friendly and helpful and the showroom is clean and well planned, the store hours are decent and the repair services are excellent although I think mostly done off site. I did have a little trouble when I arrived to pick up my mower because all the doors were locked and the open sign was still on the door so I just ate lunch at Charlie's next door and came back and it was re-opened by then. I figured it was a one man shop that day and hey, you gotta get some lunch. The place did some warranty work for me and did an excellent job, however, I can tell the mower must have sat in the rain somewhere because there were a few signs of spots and where there were a few scratches, rusty and the key ring was rusty, which was weird because I keep the mower inside the shed. Anyway, I did not come all the way out to Wake Forest to eat but it was delicious so I'm glad it rolled that way. Btw, the mower runs great now thank you!
