I've been calling and emailing back and forth trying I finalize a cake and give a deposit. It's been ongoing for almost a month. I work and have not been able to drop in...wanted to finalize everything over the phone, but no one has been responsive. I dropped in today to place the order because I was told to come in person, and I have to say every single person I dealt with at this bakery was negative, rude, and unhelpful. They didn't acknowledge the lack of communication in the least and were very defensive...After driving out there and bejng so poorly received I would not order from them anyway. Driving like a maniac around a car accident, cutting off other drivers, driving on the wrong side of the road, and endangered the emergency workers on the side of the road. I purchased the cupcake sampler box. The cupcakes tasted old however, they were pretty. It was pretty pricey for what it was. I ordered two macarons while I waited. The guava one was tasty and the correct size. The vanilla macaron was about the size of a quarter and the lady still charged me $1.60 for it even after I mentioned how small it was. It was not only small, but tasteless. I tried the oreo cupcake and did not love it. It is not my favorite cupcake place. =( read more

When ever I am by my parents house and have a sweet tooth, I head on over to this place. They make their cupcakes fresh and have wonderful flavors. They are tasty but I think a little over priced. The staff is friendly but can be a little slow. I did have an event where I ordered from them and they did a good job. Tasty and they looked good. read more

I don't recommend them at all, then they defend there employee, the one that messed up my design and don't offer to re do it. I love Simply Cakes. Their service is impressive, and the quality of their products is simply amazing. I went to them with an idea of the cake I wanted for my baby shower and they went overboard in the design and the execution. They incorporated my husband's ideas as well, which were a lot different of what I had in mind, and the result was a fantastic, fun cake. And yummy! We also ordered their cupcakes in different flavors and different designs. They came up as the cutest cupcakes I have ever seen. All flavors were delicious, they were a hit in the baby shower. Marisa and her sister even made us a dummy cupcake as a keepsake for our son. Isn't that sweet? Our baby's first year is coming up, and of course we'll be getting the cake from them. If you do not want to read the full review, here is the most important thing you should know. They are VERY rude and do NOT believe in customer service nor care about what you order. They will make w/e filling they feel like. (Please see posted photos) I ordered some cake pops for my niece's 2nd bday party, it was mermaid themed so I ordered VANILLA mermaid cake pops which they charged $3.99 a pop because of all the "detail"...I picked up my order the day of the bday party and, I cannot lie, they looked beautiful, but when we finally decided to sing happy birthday that evening and start eating the cake pops, I was surprised to find that they were NOT vanilla. We couldn't even tell what they were, they tasted like some kind of spiced cake and they did not taste good. Naturally, I was pretty mad because I paid $160 for 40 cake pops for them to not have given me VANILLA...so much money for the "detail" and they messed up the biggest detail of all. I attempted to contact them that day. No answer. I contacted them that following Monday and the "co-owner" Marisa could not do anything for me because I had to talk to the other "co-owner" Mabel on Thursday. I called back again on Thursday and Mabel was very rude! She tried to tell that there was no specification on the receipt (that THEY wrote up) about what flavor; therefore, I never specified what flavor I wanted...I advised her that I had mentioned I wanted Vanilla. Her response was that if one does not specify what they want, they automatically add dulce de leche to their vanilla cake pops because that is "THEIR vanilla". (PAUSE: In what world does VANILLA = Dulce de Leche?) I again told her that that is not what I wanted, I asked for Vanilla. She then tried to tell me that they only have 2 flavor cake pops, the vanilla with Dulce de Leche and Chocolate with chocolate ganache...this was a lie because this is not the first time I buy from them. I know for a fact that they have Vanilla Rum Cake, Dulce de Leche, Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Oreo. She then tried telling me that if I wanted vanilla rum cake pops with buttercream that I needed to specify. I basically went off and told her that 1. Most people, when they order VANILLA, they expect to get VANILLA! NOT Dulce de Leche and 2. if they had any doubt about what I wanted they should have called me. (Btw, while i was talking. She was childishly saying "But were they not pretty? But were they not pretty") and I told her "Yes they were beautiful but they were not the flavor I ordered and if you had any doubts, you should have called me" Her response? "We had no doubts, you didn't specify what Vanilla so we made our standard cake pops" (PAUSE: Again, in what world does VANILLA = Dulce de leche?) She then went on saying that they couldnt reimburse me any money because the cake pops were consumed already (PAUSE: I'm sorry...? Am I supposed to stop 30+ people from taking bites out their cake pops? Did you want me to return half eaten cake pops?) I then advised her that if they have "2 different Vanillas" then they should advise the customers of it when they place an order so that they can specify. We went back and forward for a while before I started to become so impatient and I basically asked what the solution was going to be. She then told me that she could only reimburse me $30...I was so insulted! I paid $160 for 40 cake pops that weren't the flavor I ordered and she wanted to reimburse me $30...I told her I wanted at least 50% of my money back and she told me that she could not do that because of all of the time that went into them. They spent "all that time" making the wrong flavor. She then asked me again, "were they not pretty?" Yes they were beautiful, I'll give them that but the looks, to me, is really only 20% of what I care about, I really only care about how they taste! And I wanted VANILLA! We went back and forward again before I cut her off and said this "I stop in and buy single items from you all the time and the one time that I place a big order, you guys messed it up (she cut me off to say "we didn't mess it up") this will be the last time I purchase from you guys and I plan on leaving a horrible review. Her response? "Oh I'm trembling". That is when I hung up. She then tried calling me back and left a message basically saying how she is upset because she feels that I insulted HER and that the most she could do is return $50 to me and that I can stop by the shop to end things on good terms because we are all "adults"...I know I am, but I can't say much about her. Ordered a cake from here for my son's 3rd Birthday. His name is Danny. My husband picks up the cake and doesn't check it . Gets home and I open it to see it says "Danni". We live 25 mins away. We call and the lady who apparently is the owner wasn't even apologetic. She was like "bring it back we'll fix it". Do you even double check your work? She says she doesn't even make them herself. She has the staff doing and even then, as the owner, don't you check out the final product? The invoice which she hand wrote has the correct spelling. So of course, my husband has to drive all the way back so they can put a "y". He brings it back and the Y is slapped on. Doesn't even blend in. Needless to say, I was very angry as we couldn't really take a pic of the cake. I took it from the other angle as to not capture the Y in the pics. The cake tastes ok. Just like any other 1000s of cake from any cake shop in Miami. Do yourself a favor and spend your $150 plus elsewhere. read more

Maritza and Mabel are amazing as far as customer service is, and the quality of their cakes not only is a piece of art but also the best taste. I went to this place based on positive reviews and referrals. Amazing customer service, I heard so I went with high hopes. But, today, they decided to break their good customer service record and chose me for it. I wanted a simple cake for 25 guests that was to be for my husband and dad's birthday. To make a distinction b/t the two men, I asked if she can keep the same color buttercream cake, but just the piping or shell around it to put one half one color and the other half a diff. one. That's it. She explained to me how difficult it was and how much work I was adding on to them! Then she had to go to the back to "consult" this elaborate cake with another lady just as annoying as her. Marissa and Mabel are beyond sweet! They are helpful and definitely not out to "take your money". This is the second cake order I have placed with them. I was looking for a baby shower cake for 50 people but did not want to break the bank. When they quoted the price, I shared that this was outside of the party budget. Marissa suggested I make the center cake for 30 people, which is still large and could include the decor we wanted and make a sheet cake for 20 people with no elaborate decoration to cut in the kitchen. The flavors here are delicious -- I usually go for plain vanilla cake, buttercream frosting and dulce de leche filling. Their dulce de leche is homemade and absolutely exquisite!
