The prices were on the higher side, but that's understandable since many of the items are handmade or custom made. One thing we thought was really cool was that they offer free arrowheads, which was a fun and unexpected touch. We didn't end up purchasing anything ourselves, but we still enjoyed stopping in and looking around. If you love crystals, handcrafted pieces, or just discovering unusual local shops, this is definitely worth a visit.

Maiden Voyage is owned by a young lady who goes to yard sales, estate sales and the like in Ketchikan and the neighboring areas and gets items to sell at her store. The pleasant clerk that chatted with us explained this. So many strange and interesting things in this store. From gorgeous oil paintings of the harbor to vintage jewelry to tin signs to a skull necklace to rocking chairs to chest of drawers to the American flag art made with shells to books to plates, this shop sells you Ketchikan. Many nautically themed things are for sale here like shells, glass floats, ship paintings, earrings that look like Mermaid jewelry - no idea what kind of metal but no other way to describe it, see pictures. We didn't buy anything but we're not required to. At the back of the store there serving food, we were surprised we didn't know there was food we asked and they told us it was free. We got some food ate it and my friend continued to look around while I went out to eat my food so I wasn't just standing in the way. Two more of my friend come out and join me while we wait for my other friends to finish looking. The OWNER (I'll include a picture of her lol tell me if that's the owner) came and told us (we're all black by the way) they weren't just giving free food and this was about art. I replied that we did look at the art pieces. I was really shocked because we spend a least 10-15 minutes looking at the art. We made sure the food was free before we took any and I went out side to eat to be respectful just in case I dropped anything on some art pieces. We were the only ones she said this to. It our first time in Ketchikan so to experience this in our first weeks here was so upsetting.

This is one of the larger shops at the south end of the port area, just north of the Xmas store. Their children's section prices here are pretty standard. You may get lucky and catch a sale. When there are six ships in port, this store might be a congested nightmare but we were there with only one ship that holds 2000 people so shopping here was a breeze with no waiting to pay for everything.
