Top dedbolt has not external key

I have the following SimpliSafe items: *This whole system is 100% reliant on Wi-Fi to function - Doorbell Issues: The app needs to have a setting that will automatically open when the bell is rang and allow me to communicate with whoever is at my door. This is very slow and does not open where it needs to when the doorbell is rang - Alarm Keypad Issues: This needs to have a rechargeable battery and the ability to remain plugged in. It also needs to have bluetooth capability to function with nearby locks & the base station in case of power or Wi-Fi outage. - Base Station Base Station needs to be bluetooth and have a backup battery that can provide temporary protection in case of power or Wi-Fi outage. - Smart Locks Smart locks need to habve bluetooth connectivity to the keypad and to the mobile app in case of Wi-Fi outage. * I have two smart locks on my front door, one has an entry key the other does not so if I am not home the apt complex needs to request entry (there is no key for this lock) My power glitched so the Wi-Fi cycled and of the two smart locs the one with no external key did not reconnect so I was locked out!! SimpliSafe support kept telling me to call a locksmith to get in and could not get it through her head that there was no lock for a lock smith to open or a way for maintenance to open the door which was the point of the lock in the first place. The 100% reliance on Wi-Fi is a huge problem - outdoor wireless cameras Issues: The zoom capability is lacking clarity, the night vision leaves a lot to be desired. The angle of rotation settings do not allow for camera placement and algle correction only has 0 and 180 degree setting it needs to increment at 15 degrees to get a wide range of viewing options - Smart Alarm Wireless Cameras Issues: Only plug in, they need internal batteries to provide protection in case of power outage and they need bluetooth capability in case of Wi-Fi outage and a micro storage card to function in case of connectivity loss that can sunc to everything once connectivity is re-established This camera is more expensive than the others and does not have the same wide angle capabilities - Indoor Cameras Issues: Only plug in, they need internal batteries to provide protection in case of power outage and they need bluetooth capability in case of Wi-Fi outage and a micro storage card to function in case of connectivity loss that can sunc to everything once connectivity is re-established There is a lack of connectivity with other smart applications It needs to connect iwth smart bulps so hey can all blink when an alarm goes off to bring attention The alarm volume is too low I purchased an additional wiren which is also not loud

WORST OUTDOOR CAMERAS IN TGE WORLD! They don't work at all in semi dark so I kept adding more outdoor lights and the backyard is pitch black on the camera but in real life there is decent light! It doesn't catch my motion tests 90 percent of the time and when it does record it's only when I'm within 5 feet. beyond that it's pitch black! I've spent so many hours calling and trying new things and nothing works! Don't waste your time or money with this company!!!!! So today I added just one ring cam and it works brilliantly in the dark over a huge area!!! I wish I could add photos to show the difference but I don't want to post photos of my yard. It's unbelievable!!! Literally night and day difference!!!!! AND the biggest online shopping company in the world (which I'm not allowed to post the name of here due to rules of this site) WON'T PUBLISH MY REVIEW! MAKES ME WONDER IF ANY OF THE RATINGS AND REVIEWS ARE BELIEVABLE. I SUBMITTED MY REVIEW OVER AND OVER AND THEY NEVER PUBLISH IT!!

After about a couple weeks we're very pleased with what is a replacement system. Here are the new features that we appreciate: 1. Integration of components. During the install we discovered that our old smoke detector had failed. Now we have a smoke and CO2 detector that is monitored by Simpli Safe. We'll be safer going forward. 2. Comprehensive internal monitoring. We previously had a combination of our old Comcast and older Bay Alarm systems and while installing Simpli Safe we realized that several of the old sensors were no longer working. We also added a 'break glass' sensor to several 'motion' sensors to enhance our system with a capability we've never had before (Pictured). 3. Smart Phone apps for her iPhone and my Android. Both of the apps work easily and well. They are intuitive and do pretty well as controller keypad units although we did nevertheless install two of them for convenience (pictured). 4. Simple set-up. It was very easy to do a self-installation the hardest aspect of the process was removing old and now obsolete devices. Even the packaging showed a lot of though about making it easy for self-installers to succeed. 5. Integration in our home. The base station (pictured) easily synched-up to our household WiFi and to our Alexia devices. It's not yet as easy to interact with via Alexia as it should be (three interactions to turn on the system) but it's still good on occasion to be able to set the alarm without getting up. BOTTOM LINE For a one time investment of just under $400 we reduced our monthly monitoring fee from $45 to $29 and we have a significantly more capable and secure system. One pre-sale call to Simpli Safe tool 45 min. on holed but did get our question answered.

HORRIBLE! They keep waking me up with urgent alarms for a previous address. Since I can't "validate" with current safe word they can't do anything. I had police sent over for a welfare check at the previous address and they said the owner claimed that they were not paying for SimpliSafe Monitoring. Yet I continue to get audible beeping on my phone when alarms go off when I'm sick & sleeping and during performances where my phone is silenced. I spent most of game 4 of the World Series chatting with SimpliSafe and they will do nothing since I can't validate the safe word for the email address of new owner. They flat out refused to contact the new owner to try to resolve this. Yet if I want to return my current system from my new address, I can do that until 12 PM midnight tonight. I've been woken up 3x by emergency alarms from old address when my phone was silenced in the last two days. I've been a customer for 4 years, but this is enough for me

Our old security system isn't very good at home security.

    Ask the Community - Simplisafe

Can an older generation of alarm/siren work with a new system?

As far as I know the answer is no. We had gen1 system and wanted doorbell camera and smart locks so we had to upgrade

We will eventually add the carbon monoxide and smoke detector to the system and the water sensor and possibly another siren.
