I was having migraines, and upon removal was told some spots had irritated my scalp causing it to be red, irritated and bloody..The issue I was really concerned over was I was struggling to sleep as a few parts of the weft had unsown (again nothing against Cheyenne as this was a training for her to learn) but what left a poor taste in my mouth was when I called the salon after experiencing some pain and discomfort due to the extensions the owner responded with "oh you need a color correction." Granted she wasn't wrong, we tried to color match over the phone so my real growth and extensions were visibly different in color, and I was willing to pay for anyone else to remove them until Cheyenne returned to possibly try again in the future as maybe the placements were possibly too high as I was later told the crown has the most nerve endings and can cause certain people more discomfort than others. Truthfully I was Unsure as I was new to extensions as a whole, but when I eventually had to reach out to the kindest Ms. Marina to assist me in this issue -she was able to remove them and utilize this experience as a training moment. Two extremely upsetting experiences back-to-back have led me to share my experience…read more On Friday, January 16, I went in for a bob haircut. I brought reference photos and had a detailed consultation. I was very clear that I did not want a super short bob and specifically asked the stylist to be careful, as a previous haircut elsewhere had been cut too short and I wanted to avoid that again. I also confirmed at the time of booking that the stylist had experience cutting bobs. Unfortunately, I left the salon with a haircut that was much shorter than discussed, the right side was shorter than the left side, the cut was uneven, and poorly finished. It was my birthday and I had dinner plans with my family, and there was absolutely no way I could attend looking the way I left the salon. I was extremely distressed and contacted the salon immediately. I spoke with the manager Jessie, and we agreed that I would return the following day to have it fixed. Once I got home and washed and styled my hair myself, the issues became even more obvious -- the cut was inconsistent, uneven around the perimeter, and had stray pieces sticking out. On Saturday, I returned expecting the cut to be lightly texturized to reduce excess volume in the back and correct the unevenness -- not to be redesigned. Instead, the attempted "fix" by Jessie completely changed the style of my haircut. Hair was cut from the top of my head, altering the structure entirely and creating a visible gap/"hole" where I part my hair, something that did not exist after my appointment on Friday. The result is no longer a bob and looks nothing like what I originally requested. I am now left with a haircut reminiscent of the late 1990s/early 2000s, which is not my style at all. No refund was offered, nor did I ask for one at the time. I did not fully realize how severe the damage was until I got in my car and truly saw how much the style had been altered. At that point, I was once again in tears. Please refer to the photos to fully understand the outcome. I am now having to contact my former hairstylist in Coral Gables -- miles away -- to assess the damage and create a plan to fix it. At this point, I honestly don't know what to do. My hair is very important to me, and this look is not only terrible, but it is also not a style I would ever choose for myself. I am frustrated beyond belief. This is not an easy fix -- time will be my only real solution as my hair grows out. Unfortunately, the back was cut extremely short and will likely take 5-6 months to grow enough to match the rest of my hair. This has been truly upsetting. I chose Black Sheep Salon because I recently moved to the area and, based on reviews, it appeared comparable to the salon I trusted back home. I gave the salon an opportunity to make things right, but the second visit made the situation significantly worse. I would strongly caution anyone seeking a precise haircut -- especially a bob -- to proceed with extreme care.

Some of these negative reviews are honestly difficult to take seriously because they reflect unrealistic expectations and a lack of understanding about the time, labor, and skill involved in professional hair services. If you are asking for balayage, extensive color correction, highlights, extensions, or multi hour services, then yes, you are paying for the stylist's expertise, time, product, and precision. That is how professional salons work. Expecting several hours of skilled labor while simultaneously acting offended about pricing is not a reflection of the salon. It is a reflection of the customer's expectations. The complaints about blow drying especially made me roll my eyes. People are acting shocked that salons charge for additional styling services. Even basic chain haircut places charge for upgrades now. Stylists are professionals, not magicians volunteering unpaid labor because someone believes the world revolves around them for an afternoon. Human entitlement remains at staggering levels apparently. Kristen herself is extremely knowledgeable, direct, efficient, and very good at what she does. She listens carefully, gives honest feedback, and delivers exactly what is discussed. Frankly, I appreciate that she does not waste time with performative customer service nonsense. She is professional, intelligent, and highly competent. She is the ONLY stylist locally that has ever instructed me on blow drying techniques at home to help me achieve the same style she achieves during my appointment. I also want to mention Alysia at the front desk because she has always been kind, organized, responsive, and professional every time I have interacted with her. Overall, Couture Hair has been one of the few salons where I consistently leave happy with the results. If you want quality work from people who actually know what they are doing, this is the place. If you want to demand luxury level labor while arguing about paying professionals for their time, that sounds like a personal issue, not a salon issue.
