I called a few other places, but didn't sounded friendly or accommodating. Until I called here. The woman on the phone was so friendly and gracious, I made an appointment here based on that. Of course, I knew I was taking a chance not knowing any of the stylists, but what a great decision it turned out to be. Franklyn was amazing. He spent an hour and a half meticulously cutting and blowing out my hair. When I arrived at my stepson's rehearsal dinner slightly late, I explained I why. He looked at my hair and said, "Well, it was worth it!" I wished I lived in the area, because I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I went in for a bang trim and told her I hadn't gone to a stylist for three months and actually took a xanax because I was so worried about too much being taken off. I joked that I know it's crazy to be so scared and she said "right, it's hair. it will grow back." I should have jumped out of the chair then. I made a big deal of taking as little as possible off. She cut the bangs to above my eyebrows. I ALWAYS have my bangs below them and closer to my eyes. Not only that, but I have a shag cut, and she cut some of the side pieces , that are NOT part of the bangs, they blend with the shag. I didn't' notice how bad it was until I got home and looked in the mirror. I even washed it again thinking I just needed to style it better. Nope. I went to an emergency hair appointment this morning to see if it could be blended. I showed her a photo taken three days ago to compare to after the bang cut, and she agreed that those side pieces should never have been touched, and it will be another five or so months to get that length back and there was nothing I could do. She also pointed out that the right side was shorter than the left. I was sooo honest about just wanting the tiniest trim to clean up the bangs. It was horrible. I was very , very honest and adamant about taking off a little as possible. She should have used clips to hold back the side pieces that are part of the shag. And she should have taken just a tiny bit off and asked if that was good. It's easier to take too little off and take off more than to do a big chop. Now have to start ALL over again. PS...I NEVER leave bad reviews. If you check my profile I LOVE giving good reviews and supporting business in the area. I feel bad about leaving this one. But I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Yes like the stylist said "it's just hair". But for many of that it's a HUGE part of our identity and confidence.

I went here on a whim for my annual haircut (exaggerating? I wish.) I just so happened to park in…read morefront of the place. My dead ends frantically called out to the hairdresser who was looking around on the sidewalk. So I went in, found out they had an opening, and decided to tame the mane then and there. The salon is very simple and inviting. They had the door propped open so there was a good breeze and I got to do a lot of people watching. My hairdresser was an older lady with a thick accent - European? - and she was very sweet. She didn't force any conversation which made my inner introvert sag in relief. When she did talk, it was in a soothing mutter and I found myself laughing because she was so motherly and made me feel comfortable. She was not afraid to dig in and squat near my lap, crank my head to the side in interesting ways, and fuss over tiny hairs that defied her. She had her work cut out for her, because I arrived with a rain forest on my head, but she took charge and gently straightened out the chaos. She complimented my hair a bunch, too, which was nice. She made sure to cut my hair to my specifications, and was a perfectionist about making it look good. And she succeeded! She civilized my hair and took off half its weight. The cut cost me $37 which seemed very fair. She didn't try to sell me products or push me to schedule an appointment (you don't know just how much that impresses me, when business people don't do anything to try to get more of your money) but she didn't need to; I had such a good and relaxing time that I'm sure I'll be back.

I was getting prices and scheduling for salons in the area, and to get my hair cut last minute for an event I was attending. I couldn't find anything for that day or the next, so feeling defeated, I started making my way home. I passed Hair Decor, and they were open, so I walked in. I was greeted by Jane, one of the two hair dressers that work there. I asked her I needed to get in soon (this was maybe between 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 I think?) and she said, "Well, I have a hair dye coming in soon, so how's 1:30?" Sold. I warned her in advance that my hair is complicated, and she assured me that she was fine with it. The first appointment she took a lot of time to go over with me what I wanted. The cut came out exactly how I wanted it and the prices were reasonable. You can expect to pay anywhere from $25.00 to $35.00 for a haircut here (adult woman's) or $6.00 - $18.00 (children and men's), as opposed to spending up to $55.00 just one block down the street. I've been going to this hair dresser since May of last year, and I let no one else touch my hair. I always get compliments on how it comes out, and have never had to come back to have her fix anything. Jane is also a sweetheart. She works very well with kids, including "special needs" (I hate that term) children, and she cut my nephew's hair for his first hair cut. I always am baffled when she has openings the day I call for an appointment. I nominated her for hair dresser of the year for the Hippo, and would do that again in a heartbeat!

Made an appointment at 11:30AM 1/2/2026, arrive at 11:27AM and was not sat in a chair until…read more12:15PM. Hanna got me back into her chair and started on my manicure, she roughly filed down my pre-existing regular nail polish and after I explained I wanted to keep the length of my nails regardless of the uneven appearance as I had a nail break and wanted to keep the other long while it grew. She proceeded to argue with me that the uneven length looks bad and that I should do a round shape. After explaining that is not what I wanted she insisted it would just "look better" and what I wanted wouldn't look good- my nails were not drastically different heights, one nail simply was broken and all the others were similar lengths. She then continued to insult my nails while rushing through her work and being sloppy, inevitably covering me in the nail polish she was carelessly removing then blaming it on me saying it was "too thick" - I put two thin layers of color on my nail then a top coat. She then proceeded to use the electronic file and gouge my nails, will update when I remove this material as I saw deep cuts into my nail from her heavy handed filing. She then proceeded to start laying the builder gel without any cuticle prep when there was still old nail polish all around my nails. While doing the color she continues to rush through it carelessly and gets color and builder gel all over my hands, proceeding to blame the other staff saying they don't put the colors away correctly even though the mess was due to her rushing and swiping the brush all over my hands. As you can see in the photos on the day it was done it already looks a week overgrown from rushed work with no attention to detail. All the nails are different shapes as well from carelessness. My cuticles are not done and you can still see the pink old nail polish leftover all around the sides and cuticles. Extremely disappointed for the money I paid. Went with my mother and she was also extremely disappointed in her nails.
