After paying the $2,500 assessment fee Darryl recommended two tax strategies, both of which raised significant concerns: 1) GFX Trading - a complex Series LLC foreign currency structure. This strategy was presented as a way to generate large tax deductions through foreign currency trading. When I asked for written explanations of how the strategy worked, what the economic substance was, and how it would hold up under IRS scrutiny, the answers were incomplete and at times inaccurate. When I declined to proceed, he called me immediately, insisting "everyone is doing this," and became defensive. I later understood that his affiliated company receives commissions from this arrangement, which was not disclosed before he recommended it. 2) DNA Harmony - involving the purchase of gift certificates for Jazz Band Splash red-light therapy. This was presented as a deductible expense through a separate Series LLC structure. Again, I requested information in writing about the IRS basis for deducting these types of purchases, but the responses did not address compliance, valuation, or audit exposure. When I decided not to move forward with either strategy based on the lack of clear documentation and concerns about risk, I requested a refund of my $2,500 fee. The request was denied. My experience did not meet the level of professionalism I expect from a tax advisor. I would not return nor recommend Darryl Hale and will be filing a complaint with the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility and notifying the California Franchise Tax Board.

Starting with the most extreme offense; they're now **using AI on client artwork to extend image borders and more, and they're doing it WITHOUT telling the clients.** They attempted to do this with my product, as well. This is not an assumption, this is something the staff have told me over the phone, and they say they've "done it for numerous other clients and the clients didn't notice", meaning, they didn't tell them either. Additionally, the website was reworked, but multiple features as well as my entire order history have vanished from the site. Finally, the wait times have also dramatically increased due to multiple mishaps on their end with the provided artwork for products. If you don't want your artwork being affected or altered by AI, and you don't want to wait weeks for a job that other print shops can get done in 24 hours, I would search for a new print shop.

He is funny and also quite brilliant. He knows codes and rules and strategies and can recite them to you from memory. I use him for my personal and business tax filings. He has told me some amazing stories about his days in the IRS (28 years!), stuff you will never here elsewhere. NOTE: HE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE!!! You can't be Mr. Cheap and pay him a bargain rate because he is experienced and he knows what he is doing. Use him if the IRS is going after you or you are in serious hot water. HE WILL SAVE YOUR ASS. But understand that his time is valuable, he has a waiting list of people to see him. His Yelp page says he gives free consultations, so you can at least find out what he's all about. Bottom line: if you want to make sure your taxes are flied correctly, nay, to perfection, then you can trust this man. Call him and talk to him, you will see right away what I'm saying.
