The bowling nights were supposed to be social events but it was at times very difficult to hear the people we were trying to chat with (and I'm pretty sure my watch gave me at least one "it's too loud and that's bad for your ears" warning). I'd enjoy that volume way more if we were there to dance. I'm more comfortable in the restaurant so it's on our list of options when planning to go out for breakfast or dinner. They usually have some good beer options (menu available on untappd) and I've enjoyed their cocktails and mocktails. They do a good job with Bloody Mary garnishes. The downsides: - Take-out sometimes takes a super long time (even if you order online well in advance). - They recently took steak off their menu. We were bummed because it's one of the easiest things to get for my husband (food allergies) and on our most recent visit the whole reason we came was because a friend wanted steak (and eggs). - When you order fish & chips they normally ask which side you'd like and I usually pick coleslaw. This means I'm expecting fish & chips with coleslaw. What they deliver instead is fish & coleslaw. Sometimes I'm glad for the lighter meal but sometimes I really am craving some fries so it's annoying. I think I tried to talk to a waitress about it once but the conversation didn't go anywhere. I don't know if I'll order it a third time but I might be tempted to just because I'm curious to see what will arrive next time I ask for "fish & chips with coleslaw." We haven't explored their arcade yet. They used to also have a casino/card room but it closed in about 2025.

Nothing boring about Nintendos and a chalkboard to draw on in each room, a cozy fire pit, & the World's longest oatmeal bar (vegan-friendly, and you can ask for gluten-free oats, too)! The staff are all friendly and communicative via text, email, or phone! They will text you a door code if you arrive too late to check-in in person. Definitely stay here if you have dogs because this is one of the rare hotels that do not charge extra for dogs unless damage occurs! And while most hotels limit you to two dogs, we were okay with three (and we told them ahead of time)! The fire pit was a nice place to hang out with our group and doggos, and we met some nice people who were visiting with their dogs as well. You also get a free drink token upon arrival, and there are events on select nights. If you don't want to hang out at the hotel, downtown Pullman is just across the street! The hotel is on a main road, so you can hear the street starting around 6:30am, but the nights were very quiet. Because this is more of motel, there isn't daily cleaning by default and no iron or coffee amenities in each room, so just be mindful of that when planning. Parking in the main area can be a bit tight in the evenings but there is a another lot on the other side that remained mostly empty. We were even able to slow charge our EV in one of the spots. Proximity to the U of I is just across the street near Walmart and an Applebees. Compared to the other hotels on the block the La Quinta appears to offer ideal pricing. All rooms are accessed inside through the lobby. The lobby opens into a seating area and everything appears clean and well managed. Just beyond the lobby is an enclosed indoor pool. We could smell the chlorine as we walked in the front doors. Check in was very easy and the employees were all very friendly. Our room was on the second floor, and it was easy to access via the staircase or the elevators. We booked a king room. The room had a lot of floor space next to the bed near the window. The room came with a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. Everything appeared to be surface clean. The bed was very comfortable and also was visibly clean. They provided five very nice pillows on the king bed. The temperature in the room was perfect for a comfortable night sleep. The bathroom was sufficient. I like that they provided Dove toiletries. I would say that the rooms are pretty quiet as the hotel is set pretty far back from the street and there is a hill behind the property so you really won't hear any outside noise. Our room had a locked adjoining door to our neighbors and we could loudly hear their TV and their voices a bit later into the evening than we would've liked. Once they went to bed we had a very quiet night sleep. I found this super annoying but normal for hotels. Breakfast in the morning was a very simple spread. Fortunately, they provided hot options like eggs and sausage and they had a single waffle maker, which was very very popular. For the price of the room and the included breakfast, I would definitely stay at this location again . This was a very good value.

They respected our "do not disturb" sign and let us check out one hour later One thing we do not like is soft water and it was very soft so of course that makes you feel like you can never get the soap entirely off your body. But then for a few hours it was randomly hard water but then returned to soft water. So I'm not sure what was going on It was great for the price that we paid

The table was dirty and then I went to check the cleanliness of the bathroom (that was our previous problem). When I turned on the faucet, the water was BROWN! With the strong smell and nasty water, we decided to check out after maybe 20 mins. We were NOT given a refund or any compensation. Will not be back. My husband was convinced the smell was trying to coverup a problem somewhere.
