Just scheduling has been a total nightmare. You speak to a call center and can barely understand them. They call and text you to the point of harassment to get you to schedule. None of their online services will work for me because they have an incorrect birthdate for me, even after I have supposedly had them fix it twice. They texted and told me I had to reschedule my appointment. When I called to do so (because I can't do it online) I had to wait then give all the info I already just gave when scheduling the first time like insurance info and so forth. Then they tried to schedule me in the wrong city, 2 hours away. They could not give me an answer as to why my appointment wasn't able to be honored at the date and time I originally scheduled it. The woman was unfriendly and hard to understand. I hope that the experience in the office, whenever that ever happens, is better than what I have experienced so far. read more

I had a very frustrating experience at this imaging center. My doctor sent me with a work order for X-rays, but the technician did not complete all of the imaging that was listed on the doctor's order. After I left, they later told me that they had made a mistake. When I returned to have the remaining X-rays done, they couldn't even find the original order in their system, and my doctor had to send a completely new order. Today when I came back again, I was told that X-rays are walk-in only. Despite that, I waited for over an hour and a half. While I was still waiting, they took another patient who arrived about 40 minutes after I did. When I brought this to their attention and complained about the situation, the staff showed very little concern and did not seem to care about resolving the issue. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Not completing the doctor's order the first time, losing the paperwork, and then making patients wait excessively while taking others ahead of them is extremely frustrating. I hope the facility improves its organization and patient care so others don't have to go through the same experience. read more

I went in today to the wilmot location. My doctor ordered me to get an ultrasound "STAT", the receptionist at the front named Ysenia told me I could not be seen until I made an appt. I told her it was ordered STAT by my doctor and it was faxed over yesterday. She said her copy did not specify that luckily I had my own copy showing it stated that. Then she asked for mine and made a copy but never came back with my copy and proceed to ask for my insurance. I told her I had insurance and i would like my copy back then disappeared. she came back a few moments later with my copy and I left. She scheduled me an appt without me agreeing to it which I had to cancel. I drove across town and wasted gas and my time to be told I could not be seen. Going to the hospital was faster. the technician was very kind and so was the person at the front desk. everyone i talked to over the phone was kind and patient with me, and they took my insurance even though it wasn't listed on their website. the tech did diagnose my boyfriend as "your husband" so i guess i'm married now! lol :) they only got four stars because there was some sort of mix up where i could only get one of the tests done, even though my receipt said i should be having both. i still am not sure if they charged me for both, but i'm looking into it and it doesn't seem like they did... but then why put it on the receipt? besides this though, good experience in a comfortable environment read more

The brand staff does not know how to properly check insurance benefits. They want to collect a different amount each time for a service that is covered 100% by insurance. The location manager then would rather argue with you and suggest you seek services at a competitor instead of listening to the patient and letting the billing department handle billing. Out of one side of their mouth that claim to not be insurance experts, out of the other they insist they have the correct info from the insurance and must collect payment because that is what the insurance says. I even took in the last explanation of benefits and a copy of my insurance benefits to show they cover 100%. Called the compliance department the first time this occurred. It has been two and a half months waiting to hear back. Seems like most companies that claim to be customer (patient) focused have some of the worst customer service. read more

They went thru my insurance and told me the total I would have to pay is $500 after checking with the insurance provider. Later they sent me a bill for another $225. In addition to that, I scheduled an appointment for 3 MRI images I needed. However when I showed up the MRI tech told me he could see the orders from my doctor was for 3 images, but I was only scheduled for 1. I had to take time away from work for this appointment and I do not live in town, so it isn't convenient anyway. But I planned this appointment for a time that was scheduled around work. I had to plan it 4 weeks out due to my work schedule. Now I have to book another appointment so I remain in pain without knowing what's going on in my body. I'll be scheduling with another provider when I can get the time worked into my schedule for my next appointment. read more

If I could put a -5 star review I would! Staff is rude and horrible. They have 3 different address listed on their website for the Tucson location, we used the directions on their website which directed us to a dirt lot by Park Mall. My husband was a few minutes late for his appointment and they started he would have to reschedule and that everyone else is able to find the address. They kept telling him to use the website, which we did. Your customer service is terrible and not worth a reschedule! I see why you all have so many complaints and lawsuits. read more

Bottom line up front: Simon Med waited until the day before my appointment to inform me that they do not perform myelograms. This was very disappointing since I am a school teacher and wanted to get the imaging done during Spring Break. Even more disappointing are the number of communications I had with Simon Med since November (two appointments had to be rescheduled and I talked to them the week before this latest appointment.) After all of this interaction with my imaging order for 4 months, you would expect someone to actually read the order. Had they informed my PCP upon receipt of the order that they don't do myelograms, I could have had it done by now with another imaging center. read more

I had an MRI done at the St Mary's location on Oct 10, 2024. Presented my primary and secondary insurance info to the receptionist. She copied everything and put it in my file. Since that date I have been billed x3 for any $80 co-pay which my secondary, CHAMPVA pays. I contacted CHAMPVA in Jan, 2025 and was advised Simon Med had never submitted a claim. Simon Med has threatened to send me to collections despite numerous letters re; CHAMPVA and what needs to be done so they are paid. I just received another bill today! read more

Scheduled an MRI, had to wait two weeks out. The day before I get an automated message that since they hadn't received confirmation from my insurance company, they were postponing my appointment. I called 30 minutes after receiving the message (to say that I'd pay out of pocket), and they'd already given my time slot away! And that the next appt was another two weeks out!!! Office experience is great. Problem is Simon Med gives priority to MRIs and CT Scans versus X-rays. I have a job and waiting 90 minutes for an X-ray. If I did this often I would lose my job. I am very stressed! I think this is a poor policy and based purely on profit. read more

I went to the Wilmot location recently and was beyond impressed with the customer service I received. Izzy is the epitome of world class customer service: she helped enormously with an insurance problem, kept me updated about a minor delay then came out to the parking lot to bring me the disk with the MRI results that I had requested and then forgotten in their office. Her obvious devotion to customer service and her warm, outgoing personality are second to none. She belongs in the C-suite and I have no doubt that she will get there. read more

Simon med Imaging is demanding $996.00 prior to a DAT scan. They spent over an hour on the phone with me and my FedBC/BS rep, yesterday and a billing rep agreed to $50.00 payment. I arrived at the office this AM and they demanded $776.00, stating that that amount was 15% of $996.00 . A gentleman in the lobby said, "someone didn't pay attention in math class". The office manager Stephanie, bless her heart, stood by her math. She refused to call my insurance company. She stated she was cancelling the test and would notify my Dr that I didn't want the test done. The tech then called me into the back and tried to start the test, thus trapping me into owing them $996.00. I offered to pay $135.00 which is 15% of the $776.00. Stephanie refused to accept that amount and threatened to have me removed from the office, because I used the word "crap". If there were negative stars Simon Med Imaging certainly earned them. read more

I am still waiting for the results of an ultrasound done 12 days ago- ordered "stat". The ordering facility has requested them. They do not answer their phone- or drop the call. I have been on the phone now 35 minutes. And still holding! The tech said they would be read that day and I should hear later that day or the next. If I could give them a 0, I would. Not that I know how good the radiologists are - I never got in to seem them. I made an appointment for DEXA online, filling out all my insurance info, etc, only to discover at the end that I still had to call them to "confirm." I did so, answering the same info all other again. The Friday before my Tuesday appointment, I got a call, asking me if I wasn't going to confirm my online appointment. Told them I had; they said they didn't have a record so I set another appointment. Basically, I should have had 2 appointments - one at 1:45 and one at 2:00 on the same day if they had their stuff together. I show up on Tuesday and I check in, giving them my Dr's order. I sit there a few minutes. The woman at the desk calls me up and says they are behind and can she reset the appointment for 2 hours later. I was very pleasant about it (things do happen) and said, okay. So I had an appointment for about 2 hours and 15 minutes later. Since I live on the other side of town and didn't have enough time to really get home and do something in between, I disrupted my day and piddled around at near by shops. I come back in time for my appointment. I check in and sit down for a bit. I'm called to the desk again and asked if they can reset the appointment for 2 hours later. Believe it or not, I am still pleasant. I tell the woman I have to be somewhere else and won't have time that day. She resets my appointment for the next Tuesday and says, "I'll just keep the doctor's order here in your file." The following Monday, I receive a call to remind me of the appointment. I say I'll be there. Then the woman on the phone says, "Also, we never received your doctor's order." I'm afraid I wasn't pleasant that time. I told them the story and said, "just forget it. I'll get my doctor to write another order and go somewhere else." No response. I realize there are people there getting tests and probably radiation treatment that is more serious than a my DEXA. But seriously? I've already arranged to have the scan elsewhere. read more

Even SimonMed main office in Phoenix can't get through to Tucson, 301 N Wilmot office. Their Phoenix office tried 3 times today to reach Briana in the Tucson office at 301 N Wilmot Rd, Tucson, since she apparently is the ONLY person that can schedule, confirm, cancel or reschedule my appointment. I wasn't going to do this but I changed my mind. On August 9, 2022, I had a mammogram scheduled at your Wilmot location in Tucson, AZ. It was supposed to be a 3D mammogram and a breast ultrasound, but for some reason, a company whose entire existence is diagnostic imaging does not have a single location where a breast ultrasound could be conducted. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment time so I could fill out paperwork. While there, I witnessed two people turned away FROM SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS because you did not have an MRI machine. For their scheduled appointments. After filling out the repetitive paperwork, I was called back by Deena, the tech who was to perform my mammogram. She was rude and short from the word "Hello." She told me I'd forgotten to complete a section. I said no, I didn't forget. I didn't fill it out because I wasn't there for symptoms of anything but because my doctor ordered the mammogram. She shoved the paper into my hands and told me I had to complete it. So, I turned to the nearest surface to complete it. She walked out. I hesitated a second and then followed, jogging a bit to catch up. I told her it was hard to fill out paperwork while I was walking. She turned to me with literal FURY in her eyes. "I THOUGHT you would fill it out in here, obviously." I cannot express how angry and disgusted she sounded. I asked her if she was the person who was going to complete my exam. She said yes. I said I didn't want anyone so clearly angry with me to touch me. She raised her voice and said her boss expected the forms to be filled out and told me to stop yelling at her. At no time did I raise my voice. I was in too much shock at being treated so harshly by a healthcare provider who had, up to that point, been in my presence for less than 1 minute and had yet to utter even one polite word to me. I gave her back the paper and left. I then thought for a moment and decided this horrible woman was not going to keep me from getting the healthcare I needed. So, I went back to reception where she was with yet another patient whose scheduled appointment was for an MRI and sending him to another location. After 5-10 minutes, they finally finished and it was my turn. I explained that I wanted a different mammogram tech and the receptionist was very solicitous. Of course, your organization is garbage because somehow, you had no other employees who could give me a mammogram and she wanted to send me to another location. I left. I have a job - like most people - and it doesn't afford me the luxury of driving all over Tucson looking for a SimonMed that is professionally run. And now I place this review everywhere and post it to your site. I doubt anything will change, but people deserve to know that, if they need healthcare, SimonMed is NOT the place to receive it. read more

I had the best experience having. Datscan ever! Carlos is fantastic. He was extremely thorough and kind. Received my results the next day.

The receptionist was fantastic; friendly, helpful, patient; an excellent rep for any business. Also, the woman who conducted my x-ray, and the gentleman who administered my MRI/MRA were professional and courteous. However, despite having shown up 45min prior to my appointment time (15min more than they requested for new patients), I still wasn't seen until nearly an hour after my appointment time. As I had to take time off of work for this appointment and scheduled meetings around it, it was inconvenient that I was there more than an hour later than they advised it would take. Also, in calling to confirm my faxed request for a CD copy of my results/imaging was received and was being processed I selected the options regarding records and it just gave instructions for the request and then disconnected me. Redtech walking around incoherently talking to himself for 30 minutes before finally calling me back a half hour late, refuse to allow me to wear headphones during a spinal MRI which red limited always provides, gave me ear plugs which I couldn't put in so tech install them and I notified him they fell out halfway through the procedure but after telling me I had to wear them it was too loud he surprisingly responded it'll be okay there's just a minute left, 10 minutes later he pulled me out and I still can't hear right out of my left ear months later. Furthermore the radiologist was lazy and didn't follow the industry standard or my doctor's order to compare my MRI to the previous because he would have had to look in the red limited portal and chose just to submit my report with the same findings not including the comparison of changes in the last 13 years which was the sole reason for ordering this. their X-ray hours are all over the place. the Doctor sent me to the orange grove site last Friday after my doctor visit only to find out after waiting in line that they do not do X-rays on that day? so I went to the Simon Med off Wilmont a couple days ago only to find out they stop X-rays after 10am? today I had an 8:30 reservation only to find out it's not really a reservation as they do CT, X-rays etc on a first come first serve basis. what was the reservation for? I will use East Side imaging from now on if possible. read more

I recently received a Pet Scan at this location. The test itself was fine, but the shady billing practices others have mentioned is REAL. I scheduled the scan and was told my co-pay would be $304. At the day of the test, they asked for the $304 which I paid. Done, right? Nope. Weeks later here comes another bill for almost $1100. WTF? This is what they call "Bait & Switch". They know if they give you a co-pay that is transparent, you may not get the test. So, they didn't tell me verbally on the 2 occasions I was told the co-pay was $304, but I found out later it is hidden in the fine print in the paperwork you have to sign the day of the test that it is an estimate. Now, I doubt anyone reads that at the bottom of the page in tiny print and they are counting on that. But, even if I had read that the co-pay is an estimate, I wouldn't have expected a total co-pay 5 times the quoted co-pay. Yes, 5 times! I have called them twice and filed a complaint with BBB and they refuse to listen. I am proceeding with other avenues of protest and will not quit. BE VERY CAREFUL if you have any tests done with SimonMed Imaging. If they can't manage to give you you a reasonable quote of your co-pay...remember, they want 5 times the quote, then how can you trust their scans? read more

Billing practices need improvement. Had x-rays taken about a year ago The office wanted me to pay an estimated out of pocket amount, instead of the billing the insurance first. I paid what they asked for, upfront. When I got the explanation of benefits from my insurance, I found out that I overpaid simonmed . To date, simonmed has not refunded me the overpayment. I contacted them several months after the visit about it, but still have not received my refund. I am due for more chest x-rays, but if they want my repeat buisness, they better refund what I am owed, first, and not never do it again. read more

I had a DaT Scan on 06/12/2019 at the Wilmot location. This was a rather daunting experience, as I knew only what I had read on line. The procedure was very succinctly out lined by the specialist, Carlos. He is totally professional and personable, very patient in dealing with those of us who are super-aged. The process is lengthy, but every step was started precisely on time. Any apprehension was dispelled by Carlos's professionalism. The facility is very comfortable.
