Had to register online which was a nightmare itself. Appointment was for 1:00 we arrived at 12:30. All paperwork was done before we arrived. Did not go back for MRI until 2:00. A 20 minute MRI should not be a 3 hour event. Very frustrating experience. I have never had this trouble at Banner Imaging. read more

I went into SimonMed for my annual mammogram. Well, they called my name and as I started to go back, Toni, who was my tech asked if my insurance was new. I said that it is the same as it has been. She explained that insurance companies will not pay if the mammo is even 1 day less than 1 year prior. I didn't know this. I was so impressed that they cared enough to check to see when my last mammo was, even though it was at a different facility. Before I left they scheduled my mammogram and said that they were open on Saturdays! I've got to say that I was so impressed and grateful for them looking out for me in this way! Don't go there I had an appointment on a Monday and on Friday they called and said need to reschedule it cause didn't have a doctor in the building that day and my doctor ordered MRI with contrast . So I go on the following Thursday and the tech is looking at a clip board with papers on it and tells me this test doesn't need contrast . Stupid me I was not feeling well I believed him. I go see my doctor a week later and he said they should of done contrast. I have been calling them they never return my calls even corporate office 8 messages and no return call back But worst part about this is the tech named Brett S. Lied and put in the computer PATIENT RE FUSED CONTRAST a down right lie . The tech was running late and didn't want to take the time to start an IV for the contrast I am thinking about getting a lawyer. read more

Charged me for a for a mammogram. When I questioned the lady about it she told me my insurance didn't cover it. Had to have my insurance company call them to get a refund for which they replied it would take 30-45 days to receive. What a bunch of crooks! Regretably I had to make a follow up appointment. I keep being told to arrive 30 mins prior to my appointment. But I don't understand why when I stand in line for 10 mins and they write my arrival time as late when in reality they made me late. Then the next day I arrive 10 mins late for my appointment and wait 20 mins just for them to call the area I'm supposed to go to. My appointment was scheduled on 11/10/2021, for today at 7am (received both email and text confirmation and reminders up until this morning. Big Surprise!!!! I showed up at 6:45am and was told that I didn't have an appointment. I tried showing the lady my email and text confirmation, but she didn't even look at them. I went there because I heard their prices are reasonable. I guess we get what we pay for. Banner might cost a little more, but patients are treated like people and get service for their money. Called billing department several times asking for a copy of the info sent to my insurance company. First person was rude and said she was going to email me a copy at the same time sending out an updated form to the insurance company. I never received the email. Called again today and got a much nicer person. However, the information I received and was sent to the insurance company is still not correct. It doesn't include all of the information required by insurance companies like Tax ID etc. Thankfully, the call wait was only10 minutes. read more

At 27 I felt a lump which was stressful enough. Every female in my family has had breast cancer (as young as 30) so I am always very cautious. Went to my dr and they ordered me a mammogram and ultrasound since I do have increased risk... I made an appointment and still waited an hour and a half to be seen. The staff was horribly rude telling me to come back when I'm 30 not knowing my risks or symptoms. She kept saying I didn't need a mammogram. I insisted and told them no I did and that's what my doctor had ordered. It came back abnormal and then was sent to ultrasound. This clinics staff is unprofessional and rude. Would rate 0 stars if I could. Do not come here if you care about your health. read more

Arrived as per the directions, 30 minutes early. Upon check-in told they were running 45 minutes late. In reality they were running an hour and a half late. After waiting almost two hours, I am prepared and get in the machine. I asked the tech- "Can you check, it doesn't look like my head is going to fit this way". He assures me it's fine, slides the tray in and proceeds to clock my head on the top of the tube. He then rearranges me and tells me to tuck my chin into my chest on top of a pillow. I tell him there is no way I can even breath let alone hold this position for 30 minutes. He tells me I need to reschedule on a "broad" machine. I made the appointment as a back up, and instead, I went to SMILE where upon, I was put into the same exact machine, without any issues and they didn't hit me in the head. To make matters even more irritating, I tried calling to cancel my rescheduled appointment with SimonMed, waited on hold for 30 minutes, and the system automatically hung up on me. Avoid this joke of an office and wait the extra time required to schedule at SMILE. read more

As of right now there are 9 people in the office all with appointments that are no good. Worst MRI company I've ever considered using. I gave them my insurance and all my information, they said it was all approved. I go there two weeks later and all the sudden it's nothing at all is approved and everything is out of pocket. This company preys on the elderly with this pathetic scheme. It is so obvious for these poor elderly folks. Don't waste your time or anyones you care about. there's a reason this place has the worst reviews in Arizona. Wish I would or read up on them first. I was sent to this office because of my work schedule. I was told at one of the Scottsdale offices that this one and one in Glendale are the only ones who will do x-ray appointments after 4:45pm. Not wanting to drive to Glendale, I went here. I walked in the door at about 5:25-5:30pm. I was handed paperwork. I told the front desk woman that this was going through my attorney so I got another form. Then she asked me for my insurance card, I reminded her that I was not going through insurance, I was going through an attorney. I filled out the papers, then when I turned them in she asked again for me to fill out the insurance information, so I reminded her again. She informed me that the wait time was 45 minutes. Not having any other options, I waited. And waited. And waited. Several people were called back who came into the office after I did but were also there for x-rays (we chit chatted a bit), but I have no idea why. Finally, they called back everyone in the lobby (about 5 people including myself) at the same time at 6:40pm. We were all shuffled into dressing rooms and told to come back out to the hallway once we were in a gown and shorts and wait. That was uncomfortable and left everyone with zero privacy, standing around in the hall halfway naked while they moved through the line. Once I got into the actual x-ray, everything was fine. The tech was efficient and kind. I would beg to go somewhere else for imaging in the future though and might consider changing doctors if this was the only place they could send me. Or I would just go to another office on my day off and see if I have better luck. read more

After receiving no fewer than 7 confirmation emails (5 of them telling me that I should expect to make a payment), plus a text on the day of the appointment asking me to check in, I arrived at SimonMed only to be told they couldn't see me that day because a doctor wasn't on property. Not what you want to hear after fasting for 8 hours, taking time off work, and getting someone to drive you to/from the appointment. They could only reschedule to a location 30 miles farther away three weeks later -- barely in time for my scheduled surgery. Their appointment system is horrible. The customer service (appointment schedulers) are not well trained. I know the labor shortage has impacted this industry -- but there has to be a better option. read more

Take off that star...What medical facility did I just walk into? The moment I stepped in the doors , I felt a sense of dread. I felt like I walked into a county facility. The decor, depressing, the receptionist's absolutely no professionalism what's so ever and their dress code needs to fit a medical establishment. Sitting here waiting for my 12:45 appointment with a check in 15 minutes prior, we'll it's now 1:30! I have seen one tech the entire time. I'm upset, anxious and rethinking my decision to come to Simon Med. My brain talking here... "I should have gone to Southwest Medical Imagining" but Simon Meds office called me with the referral from my doctor and they were able to get me an appointment right away. So, here I am feeling uneasy, rethink Ming my decision. Now for what's truly wrong here! Besides the initial visual of the receptionist and waiting room, the equipment is old, outdated and the rooms stuffy, cold and lacking a sense of calm which most people coming for scans greatly need. I was scheduled for an MRI, I filled out all the necessary info online prior to appointment. I answered the specific questions, one that was important to me, was I claustrophobic? I answered yes. I made a call to verify if they had headphones and music so my time in the machine would cause me less stress than I already was feeling. They assured me they did. I felt more at ease until the time I checked in for my scan and the receptionist never said, Hi, welcome, what is your name? I was first to deliver her the info in those silent first moments. Handed me paperwork and asked for payment, which she quoted me $50 higher than the scheduling department did. She couldn't find prices, ( I was self pay) . Got this figured out but not until I questioned about headphones and music did she excuse herself to find out. Oh, now this should be good, I thought! She returned, No music only headphones. OMG, I asked about this over scheduling and they can't get this right and she ran my Amex!!! Finally called in, maybe one word exchange with the girl who brought me to the room. I'm still dwelling on the no music. How easy would it be to add music for patients! Don't we pay enough money to warrant this small luxury ? Another patient overheard my inquiry. He too was extremely nervous and upset as he too thought there would be music to soothe his anxiety. This place needs help in so many ways. Once upon the table, the technician handed me a build attached to a wire and told me to squeeze it if I needed her and placed a pair stretched out headphones that did absolutely nothing to cancel the thumping sounds for 20 minutes. How horrible, these headphones didn't adjust and they probably just plop them on every head without checking fit. I would have liked the technician to check in and see how I was doing, maybe tell me how long the next scan would run. I feel that patients feel cared for when communication is added. At Southwest Medical Imagining, their technicians are incredibly friendly, comforting and compassionate. I felt nothing at Simon Med. I'm so disappointed, dissatisfied and angry. I don't usually write reviews unless they are for good service. I needed to write this one! This is where privately owned medical facilities are failing in communities but OUR hard working money pays for you to run your centers. Not one time during my visit did I hear, welcome, hello, good bye, thank you or have a nice day. Simon Med needs to care more about providing patient care through excellent service and well trained staff than dollars. read more

The reception said my copay after insurance was $196.00. I informed her, a young woman with black hair and wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt with white stripes, that my copay is only $100. After checking she realized I was correct. What if I hadn't known my policy well? Obviously, she didn't check correctly the first time. Then after my CT scan, the nurse/tech told me to drink lots of water because the dye for the scan is hard on the kidneys. When I had a CT scan done at Banner they gave me two bottles of water to drink before the scan. I wanted water before the scan, but the waiting lobby had an inoperable water cooler. Also, the lobby was not very clean. A very slipshod operation. read more

Then, after two requests stat from the hospital that would do the needle biopsy the still didn't send the records. I have called 5 times, no return calls. Now I am on the phone today until I get somewhere.......so far it is 3 hours with no help. But, today I will keep trying until I get somewhere! I might be here for a long time. I've been waiting one hour for an MRI. I finally asked what the hold up was. My file was simply sitting on desk. 6 people have gone ahead of me. No we are sorry. No apologies. And when checking in I could hardly understand the person. I have been addressed with "hey Boss". Which I don't feel is professional. Customer service needs training. I suggest they send everyone over to Chick-filet fir some training. At least they know how to respect their customers. I will never come to Simonmed ever again. SMIL does a way better job. Would give zero stars if possible. Working with SimonMed is like being on a hamster wheel. I had to spend literally hours trying to make sure they got prior authorizatiuon from the insurance company. The authorization department at SimonMed NEVER picked up and the chat line was useless too. Was disconnect and promised a call back which never happened. My medical provider even tried to find answers, also being disconnected and never called back. I spent several hours trying to get this recified over a period of days. It was the most frustrating experience since there is no way to speak to someone who can actually help resolve the issue. When I finally found someone who could pull it up on their computer screen I was given more circular excuses. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Come in 10 minutes before only to be told that xrays are walk in only with an hour and a half wait. The front desk person was kind but you can tell this happens often. My Physician sent in a STAT order for a Pet Scan last Friday. Today Monday 3-8-2021 I have been on the phone with these jokers over 4 hours now to get this procedure scheduled. Their hold times are well over 30-40 minutes, they transfer you constantly and then they disconnect you, hence having to call them back and go through the same BS. I'm being told I cant get an appointment until Wednesday, which is another JOKE, being for a STAT order. Obvioulsy they have no clue what STAT means. Time is of the essence when it comes to testing for diseases and Simon Med cannot keep up with demand. And they need to STOP using the Covid - 19 excuse. Hire more people, get them back to work and start answering your darn phones. Worst Imaging experience in my life. read more

Had an appointment scheduled for my daughter for a month out today at 1:00. Sat in the waiting room until 3:50 due to them being over booked. Absolutely unacceptable. I can completely understand an hour or so as I know things can come up that are not controlled by staff. Almost 3 hours later is not at all acceptable. Where do I begin?!!! First, I am a radiologist trying to facilitate simply getting a CD burned for a patient to have picked up in time for an invasive procedure tomorrow morning. The physician needs to see images to plan the procedure. A report will not suffice. I've spoken with 7 people at corporate, and once, at the actual imaging center in Mesa. With the exception of one call (Kylie at corporate) , every call ended up being disconnected (no call back or entry in medical record to reference) or routed to horrendous dead end automated phone system. Multiple lines at the Mesa office have gone unanswered for 45 minutes, even when attempted by wonderful Kylie at corporate. She even messaged Mesa and asked someone to call me, to no avail. If I ran my radiology practice like SimonMed, I'd be out of business. Without any question, this is the worst customer service I've encountered anywhere. Even worse than Bank of America and Best Buy!! I will definitely have Cigna reconsider contracting with SimonMed. I see why their employees only rate them 2.8 on Glassdoor, despite website stating 98% patient satisfaction. I've worked for a Glassdoor 2.8 employer, and it is not pretty. I sympathize and hope they can find an employer who treats them better. Low cost providers are low cost for a reason. read more

Today was my father's second visit here. It took him two visits to be seen. Before I continue, the older front desk lady was kind and helpful. The rest of the staff, however, I can't say the same. My dad was given an appointment for 5/3. As he was arriving, they call him saying they can't take him. Today, he's in the office, paperwork in hand already, when he overhears the younger two front desk ladies talking about calling someone with his name to not come anymore because they have to go home (he didn't think anything of it at first). As he's sitting there filling out forms, he receives a call again from the front desk, asking him to not come in. He said her face was red when she realized he was in front of her. The two younger staff told him his exam would take over two hours trying to insist he leave. Thank you to the other kinder lady who recognized that they were way out of line. My dad's exam took around 30 minutes he said. I would like to be contacted, or if you could reach out to him. I'm sure the staff will be able to remember which patient it was. read more

Management should take a look at staffing and not so concerned about trying to fill as many spots as they can in a day. Made a appt 2 weeks ahead of time time for the earliest appt, I was called the day before stating that they did not have the appt available since they did not doctors at that time and had to wait 2 hours later, I filled out all the paperwork online. Get to appt 15 minutes before appt, time, you have to wait in line for over 30 minutes outside with no direction to check in. AWFUL! Over 20 people in chairs, standing room only. The ladies helping were nice enough but no direction. Suggestion...If you filled out information online then should be one line if you did not then another line. Management should be there helping if they are short handed. We pay the same amount for service either good or bad. There is other places to go and I will bring going elsewhere next time. I was their for my 86 yr old mother. So she checked with the back said only 20 minutes behind so we should wait. ONE hour later I finally asked again and told the lady we would of went home. There were so many people coming and going that its scary to be in there. She said well they told me 20 minutes. I had an appointment for a Dexa bone density scan at the Anthem location December 6th at 8:45. After I arrived I heard the admin desk staff calling around to ask why no technician was here. After I'd been waiting half and hour they called me to the desk to tell me there was no technician here and she was just leaving her house and would be here soon. My time is valuable. Why didn't they tell me when I arrived so I could just reschedule? Very poor customer service. I've been waiting 45 minutes and still nothing. plus the two girls at the desk didn't even really care. It was like just another day of crappy customer service for all of us waiting for a bone scan. Not professional. And the appointment making was just as bad. read more
