Absolutely ridiculous to be waiting 2hrs for a child's X-Ray to be done. First they can't find the order even when doc sent it VIP twice. Then wait 45mins on the phone to speak to someone for an appointment to be told it's walk-in only. Simonmed overcharged me at my visit and owes me close to $500. I had already met my deductible at an early visit with them, but insurance did not reflect it yet as they had not submitted the claim. I told them this and had my insurance on the phone, but they forced me to pay and told me they would later refund. Insurance paid them a month ago and they will not acknowledge payment. They told me to call my insurance company for the check number and claimed they have no ability to call my insurance, which is not true, according to my insurance. They are telling me that they will not refund my money for another two months, which will be almost 5 months after it was paid. I will never use their services again. read more

My medical provider neglected to make me aware that my insurance payer has up to a seven day approval period for imaging claims. Upon my arrival, the front desk attendant, Sierra, exhaustively pursued all options and was able to connect with my payer to acquire tentative approval. Without Sierra's help, I would have had to push out my tests for another week. The nature of my ailment was potentially quite sensitive, and without Sierra's diligent customer service and tireless resourcefulness I would have been placed in a position of intense uncertainty and anxiety on top of my existing physical symptoms. Brett, the technician I had the pleasure of seeing subsequently was outstanding. Friendly, funny and efficient. Fantastoc experience, regardless of the minor administrative delays. My daughter had an order faxed to Simon Med for ultrasound. They called however is was automated system, saying they had received the order and to call them for appt. After waiting for 20 minutes, was told they didn't have the order. Doctor submitted second order. They called again, same process. Automated system said to Push 1 if you want to schedule. When connected was told they didn't have order. After several attempts, order was finally located and was able to schedule appt. Upon arriving at appt, had to stand in line for 20 minutes just to sign in. Then was told they didn't have the order. I had mammogram 2 weeks ago, still no results. I had to fill out paperwork via my cell phone, and when I check in had to fill out again. They Said it was a new system that they didn't have in office yet. Simon Med is a mess! read more

I've been going to SimonMed for about 15+ years and will no longer! Service was never great but it is now horrible! It's gotten worse over the years but it is now unusable. I'm in the medical field so I allow for a lot but this is just pure mismanagement. I had an appointment for a mammogram in Mesa and the website is unusable-the appointment line was moronic and when I arrived there were 20 people waiting and no social distancing JUST TO CHECK IN!! I was on hold with their horrible music in my ear for 16 minutes only to get an "I don't Know" from the first person then to be transferred to scheduling. Surely they would know. I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant, I scheduled my very first ultrasound on the phone. I asked the man who scheduled my appointment if I was allowed to bring my boyfriend with me to this appointment, he said yes. So therefore my boyfriend took off a day of work so we could both attend this ultrasound. We were sooo excited! We get to the building and the door has signs up saying "Patient only, NO guests." So I go in alone. I was frustrated and extremely anxious for this appointment. This is my first pregnancy. I explained to the lady at the front desk how when I scheduled this appointment I was told my boyfriend could come with me AND how he took a day off for this specific reason. She literally did not care or ask anything of it just explained it was their policy. Which I totally understand!! This is a weird time. But why would the person who scheduled me say he was allowed to come in??? This info is also not on their website about not being allowed to bring in guests. Not only this but when she handed me my paper work she very audibly asked "How far along are you?" I really wasn't comfortable with everyone in the lobby knowing I was pregnant... I told her I was unsure but my guess was 6 weeks. I filled out my forms and when I turned them in she said "It's going to cost you *blank* today" AUDIBLY. First you announce I'm pregnant in front of a room of people as well as announce I owe this much money... I'm sorry but this whole experience made me very uncomfortable. Especially when I was not expecting to be alone for this. I literally cried in the waiting room. Once I was called back, I was on FaceTime with my boyfriend. Since he wasn't allowed inside he waited in the car and I called. Because of course he wants to see our baby for the first time too. The first thing this ultrasound tech says to me is to hang up the phone because I can't talk to him yet... understood so I hung up. I prepare for the ultrasound and she starts doing the abdominal ultrasound. She did not explain a thing of what she's doing. She was taking photos but not saying what the photos were for or of what. I'm sorry but if you're examining me, let me know what you're doing to my body? I'm already uncomfortable as it is being alone but now you're not explaining a thing you're doing. I have never been pregnant before! I don't know the process.... it made me feel like she was rushing to get it over with. I wanted to know what she was seeing and taking photos of for my doctor. I asked a few questions, she wasn't friendly with me. As I said before, it all felt rushed. I saw my baby for the first time for about 30 seconds. But the remaining time before that she wasn't tell me what she was doing... Overall a really bad experience. This is the type of experience or review you shouldn't give a medical office. I used to work in the medical field for 4 years and I know what's professional and what is not. They violated HIPAA by clearly announcing I'm pregnant in the waiting room. Also by not explaining what you're doing to my stomach during my very first pregnancy ultrasound??? It was all rushed and disappointing. Simon Med has to be one of the worst companies out there. They are unprofessional and inefficient. They do not communicate with the patients at all. I have been rescheduled 4 times now for my procedure since July 2021 and nobody called me to let me know. Each time, I found out when I arrived for my appointment and that was after I had to fast since midnight. The staff needs some serious training on customer service. If I had done that to them at the last minute, I would have been charged. Also, all the facilities that I have ever been to are dirty and dreary. My husband went on line to sign up for a CT scan,,,the problem is that they call you 1 day before to state that it has not been approved. But it was approved. No offense against overseas, but Simon Med needs to be shut down. I waited close to 2 hours and was consistently "tranferred" to people that couldn't help me. The calls are more than likely dropped, due to overseas inability to do their job. It is shameful, that this place should operate this way. They have totally messed up my ultra sounds and called the day before, once again to state they couldn't find my past ultra sound for breast. Mess! Then they told me I would have to pay 600.00 with insurance at 50.00 per month...they are famous for that! I called for my husband Cigna insurance and Cigna told me that his CT Scan would cost us 364.00. I have severe migraines. The neurologist ordered two MRIs: one with contrast and one without. The first available appointment was 3 weeks out. The day before, I received a call that the orders call for a 3G magnet and this location only had a 1G. I set another appointment, this time at a facility 1/2 hour drive each way. I drove all the way there only to find out the machine was down. That woman set an appointment closer to home, another week of waiting, only to receive a call the night before saying they cannot do an MRI with contrast that late at night. They said to call to reschedule. The longer I wait, the longer I suffer with the pain. If you have any other choice of where to go for imaging, I would recommend you find another place. read more

This company doesn't blink an eye putting a sign at its door declaring it has no x-ray service at a location, all the while its flyer says that it does. Then, it's as slow as a snail. There'd be 1 patient in front of you in x-ray, but you'd be waiting close to an hour. It sucks. But then, Simonmed does not seem to be there to serve you. I went to the Anthem location. Slowest, most incompetent office I have ever been in. They demand you pay upfront, sometimes thousands of dollars, before they will scan for cancer or a brain tumor. They are always running behind, sometimes by hours, falsely claiming their "system" is down. Always lose my doctor's order. Avoid this place if you can. Just appallingly incompetent. The imaging technicians are wonderful, but to get to them, you have to deal first with the front desk and management, which are painfully bad. You can sit in their tiny waiting room for hours without them ever noticing you. They are that oblivious. read more

I liked the two technician's attitudes and the fact their egos did not prevent them from enlisting each other's help, but the rest of this company is a sick joke. I specifically ask for the 2820 3rd St location and the scheduling agent set up the appointment. It was almost standing room only and the front desk told me "Oh no, your appointment is for out 2630 location, two blocks south." I went to 2630 and it was so packed there was no place to sit in the waiting room and the check in person tells me, "Oh no, you were scheduled for the 1310 N. 7th St location." So I get back in my car and am literally going down the wrong side of 3rd and cutting off a car to get to 7th and Mc Dowell Road. They were a little busy. I barely arrived in time. I ran down the stairs of the parking garage and was maybe 1 minute late. It was 10:40 AM. I had kidney and bladder problems, and I was previously in a burn unit & wound care so my veins are not very good, but I have never gone away from a CT, MRI or X Ray with an IV dye infusion before without successfully getting a canula IV started. I brought some items that help and these guys pretty much knew nothing about those techniques. By 12:45 they finally gave up. I ask for the CD ROM and the report from an X ray I got in July but their CD burner was broken so I had to go back to the first place again to get that! Back on July 1st, I went in for that cervical spine X-Ray, which is a walk in only appointment. I arrived at 1:35 PM and did not get out of there until almost 6:00 PM. That is utterly ridiculous! That X-ray tech needs to look at the whole patient's body and make certain their feet are set so the patient is well balanced and steady enough to not tip or fall over while he takes the X-ray. He demeanor was great, but his total training was lacking in that area. The IV stand at the Mc Dowell location had dried up dye spilled all over the legs of the stand. It looked horrid! Buy some cheap trash bags and drape them over the base of that stand, so it doesn't have icky dried up dye stuck all over it. Either that, or some one has to wipe it down at the end of every day. As far behind schedule as these places run, it is no wonder things do not get cleaned properly or regularly. They close at 5:00 PM and yet the techs are still doing imaging on patients at 6:30 or 7:00 or 7:45 PM? What's wrong with this picture? They book so many patients they are lined up out into the parking lot when it's 117 degrees outside. THAT IS UTTERLY INSANE! They lie and keep sending patients from location to location until the patient finally finds a location that is not so grossly overbooked, that they MIGHT get the patient in for imaging within an hour??? And that is GOOD for Simon Med now. They used to seem to really have their act together but it has really fallen apart badly. My arms are black and blue all over, and I do NOT have my CT scan. They could not start an IV. Buy an ultrasound, or hire an IV nurse, or if a patient says, "I am a hard stick", either get someone who can do the hard sticks or forward the order to someone who can handle that, like a hospital's outpatient imaging center where they can call in a trained nurse with an ultrasound machine. I will give the two techs credit for trying some of the TRICKS for successfully starting an IV in a hard stick patient. Use the BP cuff and a tourniquet together. They used heat, which is also good, and gravity. They were exceptionally nice, friendly and apologetic. They also didn't have much good to say about scheduling or management, and there in lies the root of the problem with Simon Med. The lighting in the room was four recessed can lights. That is not sufficient task lighting. OSHA regulations require the measurement of workplace lighting in units called foot-candles via a light meter. Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations at section 1926.56 sets out the units, or candle-feet, of light required for various various types of work. This is way outside the scope of an MRI tech's knowledge, but management should know all about it. It's management's job to make sure the techs are well trained and well equipped, and that they are working in a safe environment that meets standards. The compact florescent or any florescent lamp gets dimmer and dimmer and dimmer as it ages. Management needs to make certain that kind of stuff is well maintained, and the facility is clean & safe. ANSI/IES-RP-7-1991: General Recommendations Illumination is measured in an International Standard Unit called lux, using a lux meter. Work stations where low-contract, very small, close work, such as electronic assembly, take place require between 2,000 and 5,000 lux of illumination for prolonged work. Buy a lamp! Hire a cleaning crew. Hire some more staff. If you cannot handle the patient load, forward the orders to another company, or ask the physician to please find another imaging provider. Our experience has been nothing but difficult. After multiple requests for records we still don't have them. They can't fax them because they don't have a fax number. Really? They don't have access to hospital fax numbers on paper work from our multiple requests for records? They don't have nearby hospital fax numbers in there system? I'm told only women's care can do this, but cannot reach them and they do return messages. Finally, I got a hold of someone "Mario", who said they could schedule me and they rescheduled again, only to cancelAppar, they are held hostage by radiologist who feel it's more important for them to have holidays, then to take care of patients. and then harassed to reschedule. Then, when I called to reschedule, they rescheduled again, only to cancel an hour later on me. This place is so uncompassionate and unempathetic, their rhetoric that they care about patients is just that...rhetoric. it's more important for their doctors to take extended holidays than to do testing on patients. just because a doctor refers you to Simon med, does not mean you have to use SimonMed. There are other diagnostic entities that provide the same services and far better than Simon med. If your doctor orders you to use Simon med, skip the abuse and ask for referral to some other place and do your diagnostics there. Because of Simon med, I am now out a month and a half for my breast biopsy. This is a time to be efficient, not incompetent, as it could cost me my life. I don't think the front end is operating very efficiently. I waited 15 minutes for my first appointment and so far I'm 20 minutes waiting for my second appointment. It also doesn't seem incredibly busy and I keep hearing stuff joking and giggling with each other in the halls. The guy that did my echo is great but the administrative staff does nothing to streamline anything. I had an appointment with simonmed to do a CT scan and was told I needed to pay $203. I paid that amount. I was told this would be part of my out-of-pocket as I had not met my deductible yet with my healthcare provider. 2 months later I have another charge on the same credit card for another $203. I contacted my healthcare provider they have not shown that any payment was made whatsoever the first time. Nor the second time. When I contacted simonmed I was told they could not help me I had to go into the office and figure it out there. Obviously this company has an issue with their billing department. Today was the second time my husband showed up at the Deer Valley -27th Ave location for an appointment and he was told he didn't have one. He showed proof on his phone that he even received a reminder before he came but no luck. Last time they wouldn't honor his appointment time but did have him wait and scheduled him an hr later but today they said they didn't even have a radiologist there to do the procedure. When a person signs in to their portal, they have all the insurance info but one still has to input it every time. When I walked in the office there was a bit of a line all the way to the door however the line moved pretty fast and I was helped in a timely manner. This office is very spacious with plenty of seating as well as hand sanitizer on the counter(definitely a plus) so after you use the pens to write your information down you can clean yOur hands. I had a 2:15 appointment and was seen within 20-35 minutes not bad for a full waiting room!! Bring a book or play on your phone and the time will fly, they also have magazines but I was to scared to touch them, eek germs. I went for an Ultrasound and after I was done the Dr. quickly came in and explained all my results, I was so happy I didn't half to wait for days. This place is Not close to my house but I will travel for a Dr. that takes time explaining what is going on with me. The front staff did a great job checking everyone in and answering the million questions each person had. I was so nervous when I walked in seeing the amount of people waiting however this office is very big in the back office so don't get discouraged they will treat you with the upmost care and listen your concerns as well as providing excellent services..This is not a "fast food" office remember GREAT CARE TAKES TIME!! Everything you are reading about Simon Med in this forum is true. Poor customer service; disregard for the consumer; long wait times; hand is out for your money; dirty surroundings.. Tell your doctors to send you elsewhere for any imaging you need. If Simon Med is my only insurance option for x-rays and other imaging, I will be changing insurance during open enrollment. After my doctor ordered imaging, I was contacted by Simon Med to schedule my appointment. I specifically asked about charging me at the appointment since I already had this issue in the past where I was overcharged and then had to waste time and wait months for reimbursement. I was told there wouldn't be a charge and I would be billed. I knew there would be trouble when I arrived for my appointment and there was no enforcement for the Covid guidelines posted on the door and reception windows. Everyone there had someone accompanying them to the appointment even though it says only patients allowed in the lobby. No enforcement of distancing. I was scheduled for my appointment at 3PM and I arrived at 2:45PM. Apparently 13 other people were scheduled for a 3PM appointment. One of the couples left since they didn't bring ID so that left 12 of us left for the 3PM slot. One person got lucky and was called for imaging during my 35 minute wait. I found out his full name and he was there for an MRI. How do I know this? The tech called out his full name and added he was there for an MRI. So much for HIPPA. I finally got called to the front desk and of course they asked for $320. I told the surly receptionist I had specifically asked about payment at the time I booked the appointment and was told I would be billed. The receptionist again said it was $320. I asked for my paperwork and left. She seemed surprised that I wouldn't just pay them. I can't stand liars and there is no way I would give this company a cent. I could not have imagined how bad this place was until I read these reviews. I plan to read reviews more thoroughly in the future when I am sent to places that are new to me. If I could leave zero stars I would. They messed up my appointment times and gave me the wrong dates. They messed up the information on my orders and canceled my appointments and put the doctor's information in wrong then called and told me the provider was not covered by my insurance. Then when I called to fix it, the first lady tried to tell me my provider was not contracted with Simon med even though my order lists them on it. Then when I called back and told the 2nd lady I spoke with that they had to be talking about my provider not being covered with my insurance and not with Simon Med and I was upset they canceled my appointment it took me two weeks to get in for and my OB was in fact covered with my insurance that wrote the order. She then left me on hold and never came back on the phone after an hour. The list of problems goes on and on. Avoid this place. Save yourself the headache and time and go to SMIL. read more

I was sent to Simon med to get an X-ray done in order to get clearance for a surgery. It was a STAT order because it needed to be submitted the next day which I was promised it would be submitted same day or early the next morning at the latest. Well, it wasn't done and when I finally got a hold of someone on the phone, they basically didn't seem to care. Now my surgery is going to be pushed back months. I will never use sI'm on med again. My son had an MRI in 06/2017. They could not verify his insurance the day of the visit so they set him up on a payment plan and charged us $50 the day of to have the exam. The gal who set us up for the payment plan asked us to call on Monday and have them verify the insurance again and that they would take us of the payment plan. When I called Monday they confirmed he did indeed have insurance and forwarded to me to the manager so they can stop all payment from the payment plan. I was assured no further money would be deducted from my account. The following month however, there was another $50 deduction. I called the office and requested the refund. They informed me I needed to wait until his insurance made the payment and then they would decide if I would get the refund...It's now 03/2018 and still have not received a refund and every time I call there is another reason they have not refunded me. read more

Update from my last post on 4/18/2020. My first MRI was in Oct 2018 and I found out that they failed to process the insurance claim.They never sent me a bill or called to let me know that I had an outstanding invoice. That is why they stated I owed money. In May 2020 I called UHC to confirm that the claim was never processed. UHC conferenced call SimonMed with me on the line to dispute with SimonMed. When I talked to their representative she started to blame me because I am the one who wanted to pay cash and I am fully responsible for the total amount of the MRI. I told her why would I be paying cash when I have medical insurance. What I paid was my copay and I never said that I wanted to pay the full amount of the MRI. I requested to talk to a supervisor and she said that she will research the issue, process the claim and call me back. As of today, I am still fighting with SimonMed Imaging. I have called every 2 weeks and have talked to 4 different supervisors with no return call. Yelp shows SimonMed is in Phoenix, but all of this occurred in 2 Tucson locations. read more

I scheduled an MRI with them two weeks out to give them proper time for authorization but come to find out they didn't submit the authorization request to my insurance until the night before my appointment.. they did absolutely nothing for 2 weeks, no follow up, nothing. I show up to my appointment and they say it's not authorized. I call my insurance and they put a rush on the request. The next day I call their scheduling department and they say that it's approved and schedule me for same day. Again I drop my work commitments and show up to my appointment and they tell me it's not approved. Their authorization department and scheduling department screwed me over on this and here I am waiting for my authorization. In addition they want you to self-pay and not go through insurance for less money which is highly unethical and unfair.. oh you can get the MRI for $146 less than if you go through insurance instead.. but it won't go towards your deductible... avoid this place like the plague and go somewhere else. Meanwhile I'm in pain and my knee is swollen, and now I have to wait 2 more weeks because of the incompetence of SimonMed read more

Had to register online which was a nightmare itself. Appointment was for 1:00 we arrived at 12:30. All paperwork was done before we arrived. Did not go back for MRI until 2:00. A 20 minute MRI should not be a 3 hour event. Very frustrating experience. I have never had this trouble at Banner Imaging. read more

very poor service I had a ultra sound done of my abdomen. They never sent the results to my Doctor so I had to have the Doctor request the results after waiting for a while. I ended up with an aneurysm. Wow how poor can they be? But they sure are good at double billing me over the amount they originally quoted me and bugging me about payment. Called billing department several times asking for a copy of the info sent to my insurance company. First person was rude and said she was going to email me a copy at the same time sending out an updated form to the insurance company. I never received the email. Called again today and got a much nicer person. However, the information I received and was sent to the insurance company is still not correct. It doesn't include all of the information required by insurance companies like Tax ID etc. Thankfully, the call wait was only10 minutes. read more

At 27 I felt a lump which was stressful enough. Every female in my family has had breast cancer (as young as 30) so I am always very cautious. Went to my dr and they ordered me a mammogram and ultrasound since I do have increased risk... I made an appointment and still waited an hour and a half to be seen. The staff was horribly rude telling me to come back when I'm 30 not knowing my risks or symptoms. She kept saying I didn't need a mammogram. I insisted and told them no I did and that's what my doctor had ordered. It came back abnormal and then was sent to ultrasound. This clinics staff is unprofessional and rude. Would rate 0 stars if I could. Do not come here if you care about your health. read more
