Last Friday, I called requesting detailed reports from three prior pelvic ultrasounds because I am currently facing a significant medical issue and had an appointment with a new specialist. I clearly explained that I needed the full reports so my doctor could review my complete history and understand the progression of my condition. I was told I would receive them Monday. Monday passed and I received nothing. On Tuesday morning, I called again and was told there was no record of my request. I was promised it would be sent within two hours. It wasn't. I called again and spoke to the same person, who again said there was no request on file. I was again promised I would receive everything shortly. What I finally received was only a very brief summary -- not the detailed reports I had specifically requested. When I called back to clarify, I was told that this is the only information patients receive and that if I need anything more detailed, my doctor must request it directly. This contradicted what I had initially been told. Under federal law (HIPAA), patients have the right to access their medical records, including imaging reports. I was simply trying to prepare responsibly for a specialist consultation regarding a serious health concern. Being repeatedly told there was no request on file, receiving conflicting information, and ultimately being given only minimal summaries felt dismissive and unprofessional. This was not a casual request. This was about ensuring my doctor has the full picture to make informed decisions about my care. I hope management reviews this process and improves communication and documentation of patient record requests.

Today, I went for post op XRays that were SCHEDULED somewhere else by my surgeon's office. I left…read moreafter waiting 90 minutes. This, plus rescheduling the doctor's appt and getting another XRay provider, cost me 3 hours more time than I planned. I took the orders to Partner's Imaging because of how they treated me, their quality of testing, and timeliness of getting results over the years. After arriving as a walk-in, I had the XRay disc in hand and on my way home in LESS than an hour. Barbara and Judy treated every person at reception as if they were the only patient there. They teamed up to help coordinate procedures and address payment issues tactfully and confidentially. The RT Mikaylie (unsure of spelling) was kind, professional and efficient. As a retired health professional, I appreciate how difficult it is to juggle the various front desk and scheduling tasks for patients worried about their test results as well as costs. Staff in this facility could teach many others in Sarasota a thing or two about customer relations and proper business operations.

This was my third time back since then - 3 strikes and they're out! Instead of going to the beautifully appointed waiting room filled with caring and efficient professionals, you are herded to a large corral with a sign in system with the sophistication of a deli counter. The check in staff is as compassionate & displays the sense of urgency of a "phone tree" (thank you for your patience). Previously the technicians were the "saving grace" of the process but due to inordinate delays, prioritizing walk-ins over patients with appointments, employees / friends??? cutting the line (Go Gators!), servicing patients an hour late for their appointments I didn't even get to the techs this time. I would say if you have a common skin issue, then yes, this place may be for you…read more However, I had an uncommon skin problem that I tried explaining to the medical assistant, nurse AND doctor, and all of them dismissed me as having sensory hallucinations, even though I have physical issues that can CLEARLY be seen. Once they had it in their heads that I was crazy, they pretty much ignored what I was showing them. They passed off my problem as "stretch marks," but they weren't looking beyond that. I wasn't referring to my stretch marks. They kept referring to my problem as "a sensation." No, not a sensation. My problem is real, and I was quite offended and disappointed in a doctor's office I thought I could confide in. Now my problem still exists and I may need to get a second or third opinion. Because apparently they want to put me on a strange medication and they wouldn't tell me what it was called. Was it a psychiatric medication? A dermatologist prescribing a psych med? Who's the crazy one? Not me. Just because a doctor hasn't seen it before, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Stop being so arrogant. Maybe do some tests before being so quick to say something is all in their head.
