I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was extremely frustrating -- especially given how important this situation is for my health. Last Friday, I called requesting detailed reports from three prior pelvic ultrasounds because I am currently facing a significant medical issue and had an appointment with a new specialist. I clearly explained that I needed the full reports so my doctor could review my complete history and understand the progression of my condition. I was told I would receive them Monday. Monday passed and I received nothing. On Tuesday morning, I called again and was told there was no record of my request. I was promised it would be sent within two hours. It wasn't. I called again and spoke to the same person, who again said there was no request on file. I was again promised I would receive everything shortly. What I finally received was only a very brief summary -- not the detailed reports I had specifically requested. When I called back to clarify, I was told that this is the only information patients receive and that if I need anything more detailed, my doctor must request it directly. This contradicted what I had initially been told. Under federal law (HIPAA), patients have the right to access their medical records, including imaging reports. I was simply trying to prepare responsibly for a specialist consultation regarding a serious health concern. Being repeatedly told there was no request on file, receiving conflicting information, and ultimately being given only minimal summaries felt dismissive and unprofessional. This was not a casual request. This was about ensuring my doctor has the full picture to make informed decisions about my care. I hope management reviews this process and improves communication and documentation of patient record requests. read more

I came to do Bowe last month for abdominal CS with contrast. It was written in my paper. Never did . I said to specialist , the woman, I'm little scare, because I will do it for the first time. So she started prepare the injection. I ask her for what is it? She said: For your relax ! Don't worry. I said , I will be fine no need it for relax. I came alone I should drive a car. Then she said , it's Ok and went to Dr to another room to report, I don't want the ingection. After procedure I came home Ive read what is the ingection in google and was shocked ! . The office manager said they no longer take my secondary health insurance and that I must pay a $30 copay because of that.... thank goodness I checked the EOBCfrom my secondary insurance because Bowes submitted a claim and was paid in full by my secondary insurance. read more

I had a quite peaceful experience at Bowes Imaging in Sarasota. Kelly was awesome helping get my referral that was not brought with me to the office. She was very patient and worked it out to be able to keep my appointment. Anya was great at the actual imaging procedure and truly willing to endure my anxiety. BOWES IMAGING CENTER! CORTEZ RD LOCATION WOW! CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS!! Doc ordered a chest x-ray. I initially called and booked an appt with a nearby Med Center. It was the first facility listed on the sheet the doc's office gave me. So disappointed! The earliest I could get in was 7 days. They also told me I would have to pay $271. For a test that my doc ordered. WHAT? So I called the other imaging centers on that list the doc gave me and settled on BOWES IMAGING CENTER and here's why: from the moment I contacted their office, I FELT COMFORTABLE. The scheduler/receptionist was very PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL and COMPASSIONATE! She answered all of my questions without hesitation. And I was able to get an APPOINTMENT For the very NEXT DAY. And best of all, the COST was SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER, with or without insurance. I arrived a few minutes early and to my surprise, there was AMPLE PARKING. I Walked in, the reception area was CLEAN and WELCOMING and most important I was immediately helped. Within 3-5 minutes, I was in the room with Bobbie, the tech, getting my x-ray done. The actual x-ray pic took all of 2 minutes and I was outta there... Bobbie was great, friendly, professional and had good taste in music, lol. My doctor said this is the best imaging center in Sarasota. I can see why. The clerks are infinitely polite and helpful. Despite a misunderstanding of the date of my appointment, they fitted me in as if this was normal procedure. My MRI was quick and politely done. I was told I could pick up disk images anytime; they would be waiting at the desk. I hadn't eaten before the MRI, and the desk clerks sent me to a nearby restaurant. One clerk actually brought some important paperwork to the restaurant as a courtesy to me. I assume the doctors like Bowes for medical reasons, of which I know nothing, but there is every reason for patients to like it. read more

Seriously, I hate every contact with our medical system. (so messed up, where to start?). But my expectations at Bowes was different. The first contact, there was a nice mixed lady who was kind, polite and courteous. The CT tech took time to educate and was Amazing with IV, (which I always dread). PLUS! amazing bonus, my co-pay for BCBS was "only" $300 there compared to $1700 at Sarasota Memorial. The facility is updated and clean. So, now, instead of dreading any CT scan ordered, I feel like I have a safe, kind place to go. read more

So impressed with this location. Why? Linda at the front desk! I had initially made an appointment at the Bradenton location and called back to change it to this location. I confirmed twice over the phone. However, when I showed up Linda advised that Bradenton never switched me to this location. Linda went the extra mile to be sure I was still seen in a timely manner and really felt she went the extra mile when she didn't have to. Bowes Imaging (BIC) is my go to preference for any medical imaging. Being a cancer patient I am unfortunately a frequent flyer at this facility. For the most part I am very impressed with everyone from the front counter team to the techs and the doctors toes that read the imaging. I don't mean to downplay anyone's role by incorrect titling so please forgive me ignorance. The entire staff is always courteous, friendly and professional and I love the fact that they ask why I'm there instead of just jumping in to take an image- they try to assist in my diagnosis using imaging as a tool. Everyone from Matt Bowes on down strive to make your experience a great one. The only thing I would address is the guy at the front counter that obviously needs a haircut or needs to just come out and be a girl. read more

I am updating my previous review (see attached). After the owners saw my post, they called me directly to apologize. They didn't make excuses, but offered a plan of action to prevent it from happening again. They also offered to refund my co-pay. I was blown away by their professionalism and how they handled the issue. All businesses make mistakes-- this is a great example of how to fix it. read more

Pleasantly surprised on the efficiency and friendliness of this imaging center. It's a clean area with great evening hours too. Ryan at the front desk is kind and helped make this process easy and stress-free. He helped me through scheduling, ensuring all my paperwork and insurance authorizations were in place before moving me into the MRI area. The technician was also approachable and informative. Explaining the process and really putting me at ease. So personable and nothing like the experiences I have had at the local giant hospital. I highly recommend this company. My only caution, is to double check with your insurance that authorization has been given BEFORE you go get your procedure done. I had to make sure that Bowes had submitted my pre-authorization directly with my insurance. Bowes was saying they had received the authorization, yet my insurance did not have anything for them pending or processed. Meaning, no authorization had been done. Note, Bowes has a form that you sign that says you are ultimately responsible for the procedure. I had to call Bowes and attempt to cancel my appointment because they had not received pre-authorization from my insurance. They said to give them a chance to check into the insurance, not wanting to cancel my appointment. Within an hour, the authorization was processed per Bowes. I asked them for the authorization number they were given by my insurance. Jotted it down and then quickly called my insurance carrier again and to verify the authorization. Turns out, the authorization number Bowes gave me was not correct, but once my insurance found my account, they were able to confirm that they had given Bowes authorization. They gave me the correct authorization number and I brought that with me when I went to the appointment. Ryan was able to update my account with the accurate authorization number. This ensured that Bowes would get paid for my imaging and I would not be charged. This is key for my own peace of mind. Do the insurance approvals, before you get the imaging done. read more

On 3/27/24 I had an appointment at Clark Road Bowes. I was told I had no appt but could wait for an opening. After 2 hours was prepped for mri with and without contrast. A needle in my left arm was prep for contrast. After the first round w/o I was told I was done. I said I am set up for contrast and she said it was broken? The fluid was ready..arm ready and she said I had to go. No explanation.... This set my diagnosis back till the dr ordered with and without at Simon med! Not sure if insurance will pay for both! I will never use Bowe's imaging again. I had an MRI on February 1, 2024. I have called 3 times to get a written report of the MRI. They told me to set up my portal and the report would be there. I set it up, verified, etc, and no report. I've tried to get in to the portal about 20 times, and it won't work. I called and they said, your report isn't ready, when they'd already told me it was when i called the first time. Then she backtracked and said, well, maybe the portal is down.; IT is working on it. I asked if I could get the written report sent to my email, and she said she'd let them know, and I should have it in a few minutes. That was two hours ago. I need this report for an appointment on Tuesday! I will keep calling. read more

I had a crisis and had to get a CT Scan of my head done quickly that was to determine whether or not i could travel that same day. What started out very stressful because the technician was late for work and we only had a couple of hours to do the assessment turned out okay because of office manager Lynda who stepped to the plate. We had to coordinate results from the in house radiologist to three other drs including my son who is a dr in NYC. i didn't think it would happen but it came together and I was given the go ahead to make the trip along with the recommended follow-up for after i returned. It's very cold inside, but besides that the lady who did my scans was super professional, caring, and really nice! I had a great experience.

Kinda scary. The MRI machine looks ancient with visible signs of rust. No one wears identification, so I don't know if the lady inserting an IV is a nurse or janitor. She was the only person working the machine. I hope my hospital gets what they want, but the pain management center I used ONLY uses this imaging center. I looked up the ownership and suspect physician investment from the pain management firm. If so, we have a problem, Houston. read more

Horrible business . I stated over the phone while booking the mri I need an open mri . I asked at least three times to make sure the receptionist understood my request completely . Arrived at the location , waited an hour past my appointment to be led into a room with a tiny closed mri machine . When I refused the service and asked for a refund I was given a solid stiff arm by all receptionist present who told me they can't cancel the transaction which is a total nonsense . Only after additional 30 minutes of me staying firm on the refund they magically were able to reverse the payment . This place is a scam and needs to be avoided ! read more

I have been to the Bowes in Sarasota quite a few times. The service is always professional, timely and efficient. The techs do a great job at explaining and guiding the patient through the imaging and the girls at the desk do their best at getting you in as quickly as possible. I won't be back. My dad literally just died of lymphoma. My clavicle is swollen. I went to your facility for an ultrasound and the tech was amazing. She scanned my entire clarify and axilla as it might be a tendon tear. I got the report back and am literally in tears. Your radiologist literally only wrote that my lymph node was swollen and get a biopsy. WHICH one ???? The report is utterly useless as I have an autoimmune disease so my axillary node is always swollen. I can't even request a more detailed report so $200 later... I'm still extremely scared. Dr. Michael Rogoff needs to learn attention to detail. read more

I've probably had more imaging than 90% of the general public (35 surgeries in 56 years) and have lived in Sarasota for 15yrs and have never heard of these people. Now I know why, on Sept 3rd 2020 I had a CT scan and requested they send the report to my primary as well as the surgeon. A full 8 days later my primary calls to speak directly to a radiologist, and they keep putting him on hold. Then tell him the images haven't been read yet and subsequently no report has been written! 8 full days after and they havent done anything! There's a reason why I only use Partners Imaging, this has NEVER happen with them. It's bad enough to provide poor service to a patient, but when my physician calls and gets the runaround, that screams go elsewhere. I will never return to Bowes, even if free, I've been suffering with significant pain for 5.5yrs and it didn't matter to them at all. Partners has a busier schedule (now I know why) but they are worth it as are the radiologists who almost instantaneously write and send reports. read more

My husband needed an MRI and X-ray. Problem being he had a lot of pain sitting, standing and walking. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel comfortable that it was not a problem. While we waited in car, my husband laying on the back seat, they called when they were ready for us, took him right in for the MRI and immediately followed up with the X-ray. No waiting at all. Absurdly incompetent and deceitful in their billing, Go in for a $694 procedure and receive bills for over $1,400 and they were confused by and incapable of rendering the diagnosis this was meant to address. Had to explain to technician what I needed done and how to do it. Seems like another patient exploitation mill. read more

This Imaging MRI, CT and x-ray Center is much better than the others that are in Sarasota. This Center has decent caring front desk staff and decent caring technicians. They even fit me in one day when I was completely screwed over buy Partners Imaging in Sarasota. I would choose this Imaging Center any day over any of the others I have been to in Sarasota. It makes me sad that one or two people have had a bad experience because I've been here 4 times now and all four times have been good experiences. If you've read my other reviews you know I call it like it is, I am not a patsy, and I expect to get what I pay for. This place is really good. read more

I was SCAMMED $80. I went in for an ultrasound, they charged my CC incorrectly, said I would receive a refund. Well I didn't, and guess what? No notes about my refund. So too bad for me. Self pay for an abdominal (different and more expensive than pelvic) ultrasound is $120. They charged me $179.15 for a pelvic one. The manager Melissa was useless and clearly did not understand the issue. read more

She was treated promptly and with compassionate and respectful care in each instance, which was especially important given her back pain. The technicians were very kind and the facility provided timely written reports and copies of diagnostics to her doctors. We are grateful. read more

BOWES in Bradenton: Clean, professional, courteous. Despite the fact that I went in for 2 MRI's and an XRAY, my experience could not have been better. I called ahead for a walk-in 'appointment' and I was seen within 10 minutes for the XRAY. I was also able to make a same-day appointment for the 2 MRI's for later in the day. They said they would call me if there was a cancellation and I lucked out because there was a cancellation and they called me right away. They make late evening appointments, too. I am petrified of MRI's, who isn't, but the tech was so kind and considerate, I was as calm as I could possibly be. I highly recommend Bowes. I hear that the Sarasota office has open MRI. read more
