They called to tell me their machine broke down on my way there. It was challenging to get a note for my employer for evidence that I had an appointment. Whether There is no direct line. Their phone operators are "offshore" and getting them to understand is a major headache. Every time I say something they summarize what I say put me on hold, then come back asking me for additional information. This whole experience is a nightmare already. read more

I showed up on time and was told it had been canceled, and they couldn't even explain why. So, if I really didn't just spend 2 hours on the phone with them last week scheduling, then why are you calling me??? She then lies and says a seated MRI cannot do soft tissue scans. They then tell me that they want me to do a T3 MRI, which is twice the cost (deductible PPO) out of pocket. My insurance or doctor IS NOT requiring this. Both times I've been to this location, I have waited at least 30 minutes for my appt. They even tell you to arrive 15 min early (which I do bc I'm a responsible adult) and then make you wait. Communication is important. If you're running behind, you can call the patient/customer and let them know so they can make their times and routes accordingly. The first time I arrived at 545am for a 6am appt and didn't get in the room until almost 6:30am and today I arrived at 11:45 for my 12pm and they are just starting the person before me and it's going to be about 30 min wait again. If I was to show up 30 minutes late, imagine how that would work out? No call. No message. Just showed up and expected my appt. It's very unprofessional on their behalf. If it wasn't for my attorneys request to come back here, I would NEVER. Period. read more

I had a confirmed MRI appointment at SimonMed, backed by a confirmation email with the exact date and time. When I arrived, I was told my appointment "didn't exist." Despite showing proof of the confirmation, the front desk clerk--a Hispanic woman with blonde highlights--was incredibly rude and dismissive toward both me and my mother. She flat-out refused to help or even look at the email I showed her. Her attitude was completely unprofessional, and instead of assisting us or offering a solution, she was disrespectful and condescending. Healthcare providers should be empathetic and helpful, especially when patients are already dealing with medical concerns. Sadly, that was not the case here. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location to anyone. The way we were treated was unacceptable. read more

Make sure to verify your benefits before you go because they'll spring a bill on you without any notice. I received multiple confirmations but was never told the amount I'd have to pay. I called the following day to pay my bill but was told it wasn't ready and then get a call from the facility who act like I'm dodging them. This business is called "Stand Up MRI". I went there and you could not stand up for an MRI, you had to sit down. My back issue occurs when I stand up. However, I was dismayed by the rude and unprofessional demeanor displayed by each of them over the phone. I loved the fact I didn't have to be in a tube and able to sit up for my MRI. The tech was friendly. However, my doctor said the images were terrible and whoever reviewed them and wrote my report was wrong. They claimed I had a 60% tear in my shoulder, but my doctor couldn't find it based off images received. I'm not sure if it was because it was an old machine or why, but disappointed as it took me a long time to get an appt and it was far from my house. read more

Laura at Simomed chose to not honor my apartment because they were running late. She was totally indifferent and had an incredible pointed tone with me. Then she got mad because I called them on their lies. Simon Med imaging changed my appointment 2 times. They said wanted me to come in earlier on Friday. I said, "I'm coming from the chiropractor and there will be a lot of traffic. I'm sure I can't sure I can be there at exactly 5:30, is that okay". She said it was fine. When I arrived Laura said they were running late and didnt want to honor my appointment because its was late FRI. The reason i changed the appointment is because I figured they wanted to get out earaly - i wanted to do them a favor. I did tell Laura what i explained ro the scheduler that I was coming from my chiropractor and told then about traffic and they said it was okay. Then Laura said, we'll you can't brings dogs in here. Which is fine - but I brought my dog twice before. I told Laura that the guy who did my MRI said it was ok. And I have pictures to prove it. There was even some guy who wanted a picture of my dog, i have his number and can prove no said anything to me. The Old MRI comes over and said I heard everything - you can't bring a dog in here. I said I remember you let me. He vehemently disagreed - so I said I have a video and pictures my phone was on So he knew he was lying then said, "Well you can't be taking pictures in here." I did in front of you! Then Laura says, "Well your late and where behind so I can't see you unless you wanna wait t1 hour and 45 minutes." I said, "This is crazy you just don't want , I'm not that late." So another secretary said, "Well it says you on the wall that you can't take pictures in here." I have a problem seeing long distances. I lost my glasses in the car accident - THATS WHY I DESPERATELY NEEDED AN MRI. I said I can't believe you are doing this. So I can't get my MRI? What the hell? Then Laura said, "Dont raise your voice get out!" It was like theater of the obserd. read more

I was referred to Simon Med Imaging in Beverly Hills. I must say I was treated very nice by the staff. I had an open MRI imaging where I was sitting up and it was wonderful compared to lying down in a tube in an MRI machine. It was open, I would see the ceiling, in front of me and in fact they played a video for me while it was being done. I would recommend this type of MRI if you can not stand lying down in a machine tube. If you do go to this location, the parking structure is located on the side of the building on S. Gale Ave. And be aware that it is a rather small parking structure. However, the service of the office offset the parking. read more

5 stars given ONLY for the late night staff. Had a 7:00pm appointment. Drove 2 hours and couldn't find parking anywhere. The front desk staff, Ligia, literally walked outside the building to guide us to a special parking area. She was kind and unlike most medical front staff whom seem to have attitude for no reason. She even help us with our insurance and called management because our insurance was overcharging us and she knew there was an issue. She could have easily just made it difficult and demanded payment without question, but she clearly cares about the customers who are there because they have a serious medical issue they are trying to figure out.. The MRI tech was a nice gentleman who explained the process as well to my nervous and claustrophobic husband. Ligia needs a raise! read more

Not shocked to see so many bad reviews. Avoid this place at all costs. First off, getting a human on the line is like pulling teeth. If and when you do, you will likely get a rude or unhelpful person on the line. Scheduling takes forever. And then, if you're lucky like we were, the place will call and cancel on you on the day of the appointment you've been waiting for for weeks! Total mess and a stark contrast to Westwood Open MRI which has always done a fantastic job and has excellent customer relations and client care. They refuse to perform an MRI without contrast. Contrast is very toxic black dye called Gadolinium which has been linked to numerous adverse reactions. It carries a black box warning label so when you fill out your paperwork, you will see the black box warnings they are required to provide. Again, it is very toxic and does not belong in the human body. Any other MRI center I've gone to has gladly performed an MRI without contrast. For some reason, this place refuses to. I would strongly suggest going somewhere else for an MRI. read more

I had to schedule an upright MRI of my brain because I had a fall. And I'm showing dizziness. I scheduled that and they scheduled me way out in February the day before my follow-up with my neurologist. I rescheduled it to the 25th I think or the 26th next week on Thursday 6:15. I'm coming from the valley so starting at 6:15 was perfect apparently not, they called just change it because we're double booked. I asked them why the other person couldn't reschedule they said they had the appointment well I had the appointment also so I'm coming from the valley why can't they reschedule they won't do it so you know what I think I'm going to take my business elsewhere because there's other places that do the upright mri. I'm sorry but I can't reschedule if you're just going to cancel with you. I also had CT scans ordered and they scheduled me all the way in Torrance That's like an hour drive why I was under the impression they were going to be on in San Vicente but it's in Torrance! read more

Unacceptable. They should've called me. The receptionist reluctantly apologized for not notifying me but she clearly doesn't care and does bare minimum. I needed to be in an upright position for an MRI because lying flat triggers excruciating lumbar back pain. Surprisingly, my orthopedist couldn't find any other imaging facility around Santa Monica or the West side of Los Angeles that could scan me sitting up. I had a future appointment that was going to hang me up with my doctor, so I called yesterday to move it up. It's critical that my doctor is able to analyze the results before my appointment next week with him. When I called it wasn't connected with this office, but to some central location somewhere in this country, You can't call the office directly. Miraculously, the woman told me there were three appointments available that very day...12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. Great! I took 12:30, got a ride and made it by 12:15 (as directed) to fill out paperwork. I filled it out and sat and sat and sat. Nobody came in. Nobody left. It was just me sitting in an otherwise empty waiting room. About 30 minutes after my appointment time had passed I asked the front office woman "how much longer???" She checked and said they were finishing up with someone and it should be no more than 20 minutes. It made no sense that they had three slots open, that I had the first one, and they were running over an hour late. Hell, I didn't get in until about 2:00...and my scan only took something like 20 minutes! How dare they book me into a nonexistent time slot!!! This whole corporation is a sham. My doctor's office told me more than once to hand-carry a CD of my MRI because they are not connected to this company's system. I waited around for quite awhile, and then some different receptionist who knows nothing about how things work there informed me...and the person who had gotten scanned BEFORE me that there was something wrong with the system and that it would take a couple of hours to burn those disks. The front office person who knew the ropes around there had left for the day. So did the technician who set me up for the scan, leaving me with some guy who she said was her assistant. He told me to go to Starbucks for a couple of hours to wait it out, but inasmuch as these charlatans had been BS-ing me all day, why would I think that after two hours, the disc would actually be available? He said they could mail it to me. Oh great, now I've completely lost control of the situation, because I can't trust that they will get their IT problems fixed or that they will burn the disc and mail it in a timely manner and by such means it's guaranteed to get to me ahead of my long-awaited doctor's appt. Our conversation went on and on, and I got more and more furious because that tech substitute and the naive office worker offered me no assurance that what I came there for was going to materialize so that I could get treatments for my excruciating pain. I probably used some swear words, and that bastard who did the scan threatened to call the police on me. I told him to go ahead!!! They got my co-pay money, they lied to me and misled me all day, they offered unreliable solutions, and he wants to call the cops on me??? DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. That newbie at the front desk had to call her supervisor at corporate (wherever that is) to explain my dissatisfaction with the unreliable remedies they offered me. And that person on the other end of the phone was feeding her information to say to me. What kind of a third-rate operation functions like that??? Their patients rely on them to collect and provide high-level information which is crucial for medical professionals to function safely and effectively on behalf of them. And yet nobody on the premises has significant authority or knowledge. JEEZUSCHRIST!!! How is it that they are in business???!!! I left messages for my doctor's staff to deal with these charlatans and to make sure that they get the disc in a timely manner. You know, if that doesn't happen, it means more and more protracted pain for me!!! Not for my doctor or those staff people or the corporate big-wigs at SimonMed. It'll be ME who suffers!!! This place has some kind of a racket going that I can't quite figure out. They have THREE locations in Beverly Hills with different scanning equipment at different ones. The places I've had scans done before were large and professional. This place was small and primitive. Why don't they have all their facilities together??? IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!! I think they're trying to skirt some kinds of regulations or fees or something. read more

Well it was a little bit of a drive but worth it. I needed a brain scan and thought this would be perfect I'm a wide guy and regular MRI tubes aren't in the cards for me. I went here and was Leo too wide but the evening staff hit the mark completely. The Hispanic woman working the front counter was beyond helpful. And the MRI tech was incredibly awesome giving me tips and pointers as to what my move should be and precise machines to look for. I wish it had worked out for me. Worst experience ever. Extremely unprofessional. They claim to have sent reports to my doctors and never did. I had to hound them down for 2 days straight speaking to all random people. The medical records number has no one working there. The complaint number has no one working. They make people in pain feel worse. What I learned from it is always check reviews before going. If paperwork was turned in on time it would if been cleared. The the night before it was good to go. Then the morning of it wasn't. Depended on who you talked too. Then no one could give me price. Then I was told a cash price. Front office said get here now so I drove in the pouring rain which took an hour. I arrived at 12 (which she knew) then she said we can't take you till your time at 2pm. Had brain MRI(with + without contrast) here. This is my first MRI and did not want to go to facility with regular MRI and stayed in the tube for an hour. So glad I found this stand up MRI(actually is sitting, not standing). It was a very comfortable experience and not nervous at all. No need to go into the tube is really a life saver for anyone for MRI. You just sit there and watch the Forrest Gump movie with no movement like a statue. Watching a movie really makes it so easy so you get less bothered by the loud sound of the MRI. They gave me ear plugs and I still can hear the loud sound. So make sure you get the ear plugs. Can't imagine how terrible it would be if I am in the tube hearing those loud sound for an hour.(like some gun shooting) The technician(radiologist??) is a super friendly and funny guy. He is trying to make jokes to make you less nervous. The front desk lady is also very friendly. Another big plus is I choose to pay the cash price(ie. not billing through insurance at all) and get a GREAT deal at $532 ONLY!!! I checked with a few other places. This is the best price you can find either cash price or out of pocket after insurance(I saved at least $1000 if I have to go to UCLA facility which my doctor originally referred me to). Conclusion : I feel like I am so smart to find this place with great cash price + stand up MRI. Saving lots of money and having no terrible experience. 10++++ if yelp allows me to give. read more

I had an appointment scheduled with and without contrast at 7 am. When I showed up, the woman was a bit harsh and I understand it's 7 am but I'm here for an MRI to see if I still have BRAIN CANCER. She then told me that they did not schedule me WITH contrast at all so I'd have to reschedule. I asked her to please speak nicer to me bc of why I mentioned above. And she proceeded to be extremely rude, THROWING the order I had back at me. Literally raising her voice at me saying HAVE A NICE DAY. I'm on the phone with their headquarters now and they're saying they see that it is scheduled with and without contrast. So never going here again. And I'm shaking and crying in my car bc after being yelled at before I'm supposed to lay in a tiny tube for an hour, it will be a week or so before I know if I still have brain cancer. read more

I am not happy with service I received and would not recommend this imaging center to anyone. I called mid March and was scheduled in the April. They do not do all the body parts on the same day so I had to come twice to this location. It's a week passed since my visit and my results are not ready. I am here for my second round of imaging now and I'm waiting one and half hour past my appointment time and they haven't still called me in ! I had an appointment for MRI with and without contrast, and I got a call a week before the appointment that they didn't have a person for that day to do it with contrast. It got rescheduled for a month later. Everything was fine the day of the MrI, until it was time for me to get the CD. I was told they were having tech issues and that I could wait 15 mins or have the CD sent to my house, which I went for it. It's been 3 weeks, and the CD hasn't arrived nor the results sent to my Dr. I called, and I was told that the referral didn't have a fax #. Therefore, they couldn't fax it to my Dr. I asked why they didn't call, and they couldn't give me an answer. All they did was send me an email with the results. Thank God it wasn't bad news. Otherwise, I would have had a meltdown. read more

I had a great experience with this location. I needed a seated MRI as I can't lay down any longer for a regular MRI. Everyone from setting up the appt through email, to them getting my doctor's order and insurance approval within 24 hours for a brain scan, to the technician, were all professional, kind and understanding. My appt was actually set for 2 weeks out, but they had a cancellation, emailed me, and I was able to get in the following day after our initial emails. I've read some reviewers saying they've driven a long distance to get there to find out their appt was canceled. And that happened to the person in line before me. Make sure before you leave for your appt that your insurance has approved the procedure! And if it hasn't been yet, ask SimonMed to call them and get it pushed through as you have an appt! The person in front of me asked them to do that, it was straightened out, and they got the appt right after me. I was so happy to hear as I was willing to give them my appt time as I live close by and could have come back later. I've had to get MRI's for years, always laying flat, which I can not do any longer due to some other surgery. All I can say is this machine was not as loud, the head cage you must have for a head scan was really easy compared to the ones laying down, and the tech made me as comfortable as possible for an MRI. He made sure I had the balloon thing you press if you need him and he made some great jokes to help alleviate any lingering anxiety, and also checked in with me 2-3x during the scan to make sure I was ok. I was able to see them in the scan room, and I got to watch Forrest Gump the entire time the scan was on. I actually almost fell asleep but was told I can't because it's a brain scan!
