I was very concerned to have a much needed procedure done during a pandemic; I usually get panic attacks going to the dentist let alone having dental surgery!! But the entire staff was friendly and calming to be around and put me at ease as soon as I walked in and greeted by Allegra. I came here with a referral from my primary dentist fully trusting that they would do a good job. The consultation went by smoothly and Dr. Choyee was very thorough in his explanation of the treatment plan. Then, the receptionist came by with the consent form and surgery invoice. I was stunned by the amount on the invoice but I felt pressured to sign. She seemed surprised that I was shocked. A $3,700 invoice for 4 extractions is a big amount of money.. I only signed the initial consent and paid $300 for the CT scan that was done before the invoice was given to me. I did my own research and found a different place for a second opinion and requested a CD of my CT so I didn't have to redo it. I was sent home with a blank CD. I called the office about the situation and Ashley was not very helpful. Thankfully, Cecilia helped me and they got me a USB. Unfortunately, the USB was also not readable even though my second dentist office had the same program. So I ended up having to redo all of my imaging studies. I ended up receiving treatment somewhere else because the second office was able to work with my insurance to provide the coverage that I needed and their costs were significantly lower. The treatment plan was also drastically different. I'm sure Dr. Choyee would have done a great job but it was frustrating experience with the receptionist and I would only recommend coming here if you have a couple hundred bucks to spare. read more

I recently had my bottom impacted wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Choyee & it was a pleasant experience for what it was. Dr. Choyee was knowledgeable & explained to me of the procedure & what I should expect post op. The procedure was fairly quick ~30min and the pain was actually not too bad and I managed with couple doses of Motrin. He was personable & caring and even called me after the surgery to follow up. I was referred by my regular dentist to see a specialist for my wisdom teeth extraction. Initially I was nervous for this procedure and had only been under anesthesia as a child (7), currently 24. Although, my anxiety truly lessened after talking to Dr. Choyee and his staff. Before starting the operation, specifically two of his assistants took the time to have a conversation with me about my work and schooling. They had such positivity and support of where I work and where I want to go in my life. I sincerely felt the humanity behind the practiced tasks they must do everyday. I went to get all four fully erupted wisdom teeth with Dr. Choyee and the whole process went very well. I was put under sedation and everything was done by the time I came to in about 1 hour. Minimal bleeding after and I'm just following the 2 page instructions for after care. Dr. Choyee was also very helpful by following up later int he evening by phone to check in and answer questions. I drove all the way from Santa Monica because a friend highly recommended Dr. Choyee and it was well worth the drive. I came in to have my 3 remaining wisdom teeth pulled. I had one pulled many years ago and the tooth was very deep sideways into my nerves. I couldn't eat solids for 2 weeks and I was miserable. I was a little nervous this time around but Dr. Choyee made me feel very comfortable and informed. I was able to eat solid food after just a few days! I can't say enough GREAT things about Dr. Choyee and his staff! I recently had a failed root canal/crown from a bad previous dentist and was in need of a good oral surgeon. I am a happy, former patient of Dr. Brian Chung's and being that Dr. Choyee took over his practice since his retirement, I knew I would be in good hands! I was right! Dr. Choyee is very personable and knowlegeable, and makes his patients feel comfortable and important. After thoroughly explaining to me my dental options, we decided on extraction, bone graph and a future dental implant. He removed my bad tooth under (IV sedation), in addition to the bone graph. My experience was an terrific one. The nurses and staff were awesome and put me at ease about my procedure (both before and during). Jessica (one of the nurses) was one of the 1st people I woke up to, after my quick procedure was done, and was really sweet and helpful as I was coming out of sedation. After surgery, Dr. Choyee called, to see how I was doing and left me his personal number (for after hours), in case of emergency. What a great touch! I am 2 months "post op", and anxiously awaiting my implant next month. My mouth has healed so nicely with zero remaining pain...1st time in forever! Another thing, to mention is Dr. Choyee's office Manager/biller is incredible. Anna was the first person I spoke with, before coming into Dr. Choyee's. She's really informative and upfront about the procedure you're going to have, dental plans, coverages, out of pocket expenses etc. No billing surprises here! The staff was so kind and patient and very accommodating. My son has anxiety and is very fearful of the dentist. He has had problems with his teeth and his wisdom teeth needed to come out. He went to so many dentists, but ended up walking out because of their rudeness and judgmental attitudes. They never showed any compassion or care for the patients. My son is very sensitive and refuses to allow anyone that can't show compassion to their patients to be a patient of theirs. Dr Choyee's staff and Dr Choyee were very compassionate and caring and took the time to discuss the plan and price's (since we were paying cash) and treated my son with a compassionate heart and a sweet sincere attitude. We will return to have more work done and we would highly recommend them to anyone. This is my second time getting a wisdom tooth removal with Dr.Choyee! I was referred to his office a few years back , and remembered how great they were the first time so I decided to return for my second removal , and I must say I was very pleased and grateful on how quick they were able to get me a consultation and an appointment for my surgery within the week that worked around my work schedule, I was in severe pain and one of my wisdom tooth were coming out and make it harder to wait any longer, I was glad I was able to get it over with quickly , the staff was so friendly and considerate and made me feel comfortable every step of the way , Dr.Choyee was very assuring and kind and made me feel comfortable knowing I was in good hands. Got all 4 wisdom teeth removed. Very easy and fast to make an appointment, they took me in as soon as I wanted. Went in for a consultation then soon after got them removed. Very kind and his assistant's were super easy going and easy to get along with. I was nervous to make this appointment but after I got it done I regretted not doing it sooner. I felt like I was out for less than a minute, when I woke up I felt happy and at ease. No pain until a few hours later, nothing ibuprofen couldn't take care of. I had to have some teeth extracted here. I was referred out by my dentist up the street. The staff here are very friendly and Dr. Choyee was very nice. He explained that I needed to put under general anesthesia due to the severity of my teeth. He made everything so nice and easy going. I was so scared sitting in his chair waiting for this procedure to happen. The prices weren't *TOO* bad either. My only issue was that his receptionists were a little too eager to have me sign my estimate/consent forms. I'm someone that actually reads the papers given to me instead of just signing blindly (always learned that from my father). As someone who works reception at a hospital, it is always good to hand the patient what needs to be signed and briefly explain what it is. Then give them a minute or two to go over it, leave the room & come back to see if there's any questions and if it's finished. I can't stress enough how nervous patients are already. They may be anxious as well and having someone stand over us, pointing out the visible highlighted lines that need your signature is a little upsetting. Also, the answer service team is a little rude- just glad I didn't have to deal with them in person. The rest of the staff were so delightful, I wish I would have gotten names! As I entered the consult room, I was greeted by a very cheerful young tech who so kindly complimented my shoes we made some small talk and she went on her way. Two other techs came in and started doing their thing, one asked some questions about where I get my scripts filled and the other was already prepping the work station for doctor. They made sure I knew exactly what they were doing and what it was for. Certain things like "you're going to feel cold." Or "just a pinch!" Was said right before those things actually happened to better prepare me, I really appreciate that. The care they showed for me was incredible and I'm beyond grateful. Thank you Dr. Choyee and staff for helping me with my issues and relieving so much pain! And thank you so much for your signs about no video recording, my bf definitely wanted to record me coming out of anesthesia and I'm glad he couldn't! read more

I was referred to Dr. Choyee by my awesome dentist Dr. Wong. I was really trying to not get all three of my wisdom teeth removed if it was unnecessary, but unfortunately they started to bother me. The consultation process was quick and easy. Anna, the office manager, helped me out a lot. When it came to the appointments, insurance, and any other questions I had she was on top of it. Even now after my surgery, I contact her when I need anything. She's very sweet, accommodating, and very professional. Dr. Choyee was excellent. He's young, but very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. He was able to remove all of my wisdom teeth in a 45-minute period while I was under IV sedation. Didn't feel anything at all, and even after the surgery the staff was very attentive and cared for me throughout. The office is very clean, modern, and well furnished. It really does have a home-y vibe (especially in the waiting room), and won't make you anxious (if you're the type of person who gets stressed when in a hospital or a dentist's office). I finally decided to have surgery to have a few tori removed. Dr. Choyee was strongly recommended and I couldn't be happier with the results. He and his staff walked me through the process and really went out of their way to put my mind at ease.
