There is no detail spared here. The practice manager, Noelle, is super professional. Highly responsive to inquiries and very friendly. Everyone made me feel right at home.. Her work was phenomenal and I wanted the same type of results and him and his team delivered exactly that. The consultation was done over the phone where Dr. Corey talked about my preferences and he discussed what he think might be best for me based on the information I gave him. I was very open minded with what I wanted and I made sure to mention the most important things to me; upper pole fullness and closing my cleavage was my top priority and I was flexible in the sizing in order for those two priorities to be fulfilled. He recognized off the bat from the photos I sent that I had some unevenness between the girlies and made sure to even them out during the final sizing. He was on point with the final sizing and profile. Throughout the call he was extremely EASY to talk to; literally felt like speaking to a friend. Never once did I feel like the choice wasn't my own nor did I ever feel like he was trying to steer me away from my choices. Many of my friends had experiences where other doctors were trying to convince them a different profile or a bigger/smaller size (a big reason why i didn't go to other well known doctors in philadelphia and went all the way here instead). Surgery is a very high commitment and it can be uncomfortable when your doctor doesn't really respect what you want, but this WAS NOT THE CASE AT ALL WITH HIM! He was super informative, very respectful, and even funny lol. Despite coming from such a long way, the process was very smooth and they communicated with me how to estimate which sizes I would like best through a process called the "rice test". Even though I was weary at first, i can say the rice test is pretty accurate now that I am post op! It helped me picked the perfect size that wasn't too big for me but still noticeable. He is amazing and well versed at his job because he was able to suggest a couple sizes for me that I probably never would have picked myself, but it ended up being exactly what I wanted after i tried those sizes during the rice test. He considered my rib cage width, my goals and was realistic. I was weary about sizing and profile types bc I didn't want to look like the letter "P" and he did amazing at suggesting the size and profile. We quickly agreed on medium and 405cc L/445cc R to balance out my unevenness. His team was very communicative and even accommodated my request for an earlier surgery date when unexpected circumstances came up and I could no longer do my original surgery date. This team made me feel so comfortable and reassured me very thoroughly, even after I expressed that I was quite nervous as I have never had a procedure done before. I was literally a mess the night before because i was so nervous but looking back it feels soooo silly bc they took care of me so flawlessly. I literally came into the surgery center scared as heck but woke up painlessly with beautiful boobies LOL. The nurses, the anesthesiologist, the doctor, everyone was so friendly and made me feel more at ease before we got started. Even the recovery process wasn't too bad, Dr. Corey outlined what to expect for the next week and he was spot on. I followed his instructions and so far have no complications a week later (but I am a post op nurse, so I may be a little more familiar with post op care than others). Make sure to follow post op care instructions his team provides in order to prevent complications and unwanted results! Once again, Dr. John J Corey is extremely comfortable to speak to and I had an AMAZING experience. I got a bilateral Transaxillary breast augmentation and i love it to much! The armpit approach gave me no visible scars and anyone I've shown so far has been super impressed! My friends have gotten it under the breast and sometimes the scarring can be dark for women of color (I am asian) so I really appreciate that he recommended this approach to me. Ask more about this approach and whether if it's a good fit for you because it is amazing. The aftercare for this site is less tedious too! I cannot recommend this doctor and his team enough! At the age of 17, after a severe pedestrian vs. car accident, I had breast implants placed to…read moreaddress asymmetry caused by skin grafts. At the time, I was an uneducated teenager who didn't research surgeons. I ended up with implants that were too large and that I hated almost immediately. After 21 years, two children, and ongoing physical discomfort from the weight of the implants, I was ready to explant. Explant can be intimidating, as you're unsure about how much tissue you'll have left or what the results will be. For me, the added complexity of skin grafts and asymmetry made it even more daunting. I paid for a consultation expecting honesty, informed consent, and what I believed would be a straightforward implant exchange. I had my original saline implants for 27 years without a single complication. I was an ultramarathon runner, hiked five days a week, exercised regularly, and lived an active, healthy life. I had no idea that one decision with Dr. Shaw would completely change my life. When I went in for my consultation, I specifically requested saline implants again. I wanted the same type of implants I had successfully lived with for 27 years. Instead, I received Motiva silicone implants. During my care, I learned that Motiva had only recently received FDA approval in the United States a month before my surgery. I would never have agreed or consented to the newest implant on the market. I wanted another saline implant exchange because that is what had worked well for me for nearly three decades. Had I known everything I know today, I would never have agreed to receive a newly introduced implant. I later learned I was among Dr. Shaw's early Motiva patients. After I obtained and reviewed my hospital operative report, I discovered that GalaFLEX mesh had also been implanted during my surgery. I only became aware of it after reading my operative report and researching what GalaFLEX was. I was never informed before surgery that GalaFLEX mesh would be implanted. Had I known a permanent synthetic mesh with serious known side effects was going to be placed in my body, I would not have agreed to it. I also later learned that GalaFLEX is not FDA approved for breast augmentation or breast lift procedures. Dr. Shaw never informed before surgery that I could permanently lose nipple sensation, develop inverted nipples, or require another lift only three months after surgery. More than a year later, I still have no nipple sensation, and my nipples remain inverted. When I later asked Dr. Shaw why my breasts appeared so saggy after surgery, he told m that I would need another lift in three months. I was shocked because I had already paid for an implant exchange and lift. Within weeks of surgery, my health completely changed. I became deathly sick. I repeatedly begged Dr. Shaw to remove the implants because I knew something was seriously wrong after surgery with him. I was terrified. Instead of feeling heard, I felt dismissed. Dr. Shaw told me to find another surgeon. I couldn't understand why the surgeon who implanted them would not help me when I was telling him how sick I had become. Over the past year, I have experienced severe body pain, debilitating fatigue, brain fog, ringing in my ears, muscle and joint pain, weakness, headaches, insomnia, and many other symptoms that I personally believe are related to my surgery. Before this procedure, I had never taken pain medication or muscle relaxers. At one point, I spent more than two weeks almost entirely in bed because I was so sick. Every day I struggle to get out of bed. After reviewing my medical records, I learned additional details about my surgery that raised even more questions for me. I later pursued legal action, but my case was dismissed because I was unable to obtain the expert medical testimony required under Arizona law. I was also deeply frustrated that, despite my repeated requests before surgery to preserve my original implants, photograph them, and send them for pathology, I did not receive my implants back. I was later told they had been discarded by Dr. Shaw. I also did not receive photographs of my original implants. As a result, I still have unanswered questions about my medical care, and those unanswered questions have made it much more difficult for me to understand everything that happened. This experience has been physically, emotionally, and financially devastating. I am a single mother raising a son with complex disabilities. We also lost our home and business in the Maui wildfire. Instead of focusing on rebuilding our lives and caring for my son, I have spent the last year searching for answers, ER visits, urgent care, weeks in bed in debilitating pain, and trying to regain my health, and looking for a surgeon who may be able to help me. I am not writing this because I want sympathy. I am writing this because I believe every patient deserves to fully understand exactly what will be implanted in their body before surgery. I questioned why I had to pay a surgery fee up front when I hadn't even seen him. She said that the fee was refundable if I changed my mind after the consultation. I have also been a skin club member of MD Skin for the past 5 years. The next day I got a call from my MD aesthetician saying that skin club members did not have to pay the consultation fee. I saw Dr. Gawley for my appointment and decided not to have the $35K surgery and requested a refund of both the surgery fee and the consultation fee which had been waived. That's where the fun began. The next week I stopped by the office to check on my refund and casually mentioned to the front desk that I would like to make an appointment for a facial consultation. She said that they had just had a cancellation and that Dr. Gawley could see me immediately. He explained that he could not do what I wanted and was concerned that I wouldn't be happy with the results. So I decided that I would not have a $51K surgery that I wouldn't be happy with, and I left the office reminding everyone that I had not received my refund to my bankcard. For the next 2 months I asked for a refund of my $2250 deposit with no response except to pass me on to someone else. Then I talked to the bookkeeper who said she was not going to refund my $2250 and the reasons she gave made no sense. After several more phone calls, I finally talked with Kerri White-Singleton who said that she was the CEO of MD Gawley. She gave me the same rude and pushy run around in a lengthy phone call in which she talked non stop until I said "Let's cut to the chase - are you refunding my deposit or not?" At that point she said that she would make the refund which I finally received the day after Christmas. My recommendation??? Stay away from MD Gawley Plastic Surgery.

Her staff did very little pre-op guidance and minimal follow-up after the surgery. I felt like a bother when contacting them. (Although, they were very happy to take my money at the time of service.) I had horrible scarring that resulted in scar tissue in one of my breasts, making it larger than the other one. I've also lost feeling in my nipples, which is horrible on so many levels. When I went back to Dr. Flint with my problems, she was dismissive, claiming 'normal' results. When I asked about the scarring (white lines around my nipples), she said that it could take up to 5 years to disappear, if ever. The original claim was 1 year. Her bedside manner is horrible. I attributed it to being a surgeon with high intelligence and less social skills. I was ok with that - until she so rudely dismissed my concerns. Instead of taking responsibility for her actions, she glibly said that we could do another surgery to remove the scar tissue. At my follow up appointment, she was more interested in selling me Botox and expensive face creams than really listening to my concerns about my surgery. It was incredibly disheartening. I've waited this long to write a review because I was hoping for some progress with my scarring and feeling in my nipples. There's been very little progress. Although I'm happy my breasts are lifted, I feel self conscious about the scarring and breast size difference. It's a lot of money and effort to spend on nominal results.
