I was so happy to find a practice that does micro needling with PRP. Many years ago, I had this treatment at another practice and I felt it was super effective. There is no detail spared here. I wonder how many top docs ever listen to their front office staff answering the calls? Dr Hobgood was recommended to me by a doctor as one of her top 3 recommendations for facial plastic surgery. I was impressed by his credentials and experience and called for a consultation. Whoever answered the phone on 5/14/25 @ 10:25 am should be fired (I don't know as she did not say her name when she answered my call). She was one of the most evasive, cold and literally arrogant receptionists I've spoken to... not expected from a top surgeon's office. It was almost as if 'she' was the doctor and was far too experienced to take a client who did not want a major overhaul (even though I expressed interest in a neck lift, facial rejuvenation and possibly more depending on what the doctor's professional opinion was). She immediately blurted out the price of $30,000 and said that he doesn't do just a neck lift, it would be combined with other procedures- and at the minimum it would be a CO2 (for example) which was another $7,000. Then she stopped talking! There was a huge pause as if she assumed the cost would scare me off right there. Was a neck lift and pulling up my jowls with an added laser or something else not enough to put me on a schedule? After a long pause, she asked my age and if I was healthy. That came as "so no blood thinners, no smoking?" When I replied that I was very healthy, again, she stopped talking! At that point I was pretty much done and about to hang up when she said, "did you have any other questions?" Really?... like I was buying a face lotion- not about to spend over $30,000 on a surgical procedure! There's more but it is aggravating just writing this review which I have only written 1 other time on any review site including Yelp. If she was a reflection of the doctor, no thanks, I'll spend my $30-40,000 elsewhere. read more

Lesson learned!! On the morning of June 21, 2023, I emailed Hobgood Facial Plastic Surgery as I was interested in booking a consultation for having facial fat grafting in areas I had experienced volume loss. I was called later that afternoon and told by the young lady on the phone that the procedure is typically done in tandem with other procedures (hmm ...), any/all of which, by the way, I assured her I was open to discussing with him on the day. She then told me the consult fee would be $350 and he was booking well into August. I told her the fee was fine and I grabbed my calendar to mark one of the open dates and time slots she said was available. After I penciled it in and was ready to give her my credit card info., she hesitated a moment and then said, "Uh ... actually the doctor likes to see pictures before committing to a consult" (really?) and that she would email me a sample of what I needed to send in (which I never received, of course). I guess she was expecting the fee or the wait to discourage me from moving forward and when it didn't, she had to come up with a different roadblock? I'm not sure there was another reason to not just secure the appointment - it was only a consultation after all, and a paid one at that. My takeaway was that only the "big money" facial surgeries (facelifts, rhinoplasty's, facial contouring) warrant his consult time and that he can't be bothered with the simpler procedures. In the future, though, I would suggest to the practice that they just let people know this up front instead of wasting their time. I easily found a well-respected surgeon (with a friendly and welcoming front office staff btw) to schedule a consultation with. Unfortunately, I'm left with a bad opinion about Hobgood Facial Plastic Surgery, because even though I never got the opportunity to meet the doctor face to face, he must take responsibility for his practice, the people he hires to run it and ultimately what he trains them to say on the phone. In the end, his name and reputation are represented by the people he has answering his prospective patients' calls and questions. I'd like to believe that most plastic surgery practices are founded on the fundamental desire to make everyone who reaches out feel better about themselves aesthetically, from simple fillers to major facelifts, regardless of the financial benefit to the business. This practice would do well to get back to that basic philosophy and put their customers, not their greed, first. Oh, and I would maybe start by reevaluating the front office staff - just an observation. read more

I never write reviews but would like to save others from going through what I have. After saving for a considerable period, I entrusted Dr. Hobgood with my revision rhinoplasty, seeking to address my deviated septum , reduce my nose size and enhance my tip definition. Dr. Hobgood's reputation for meticulousness and his selective approach to revision cases instilled confidence in me. His bedside manner was really good and I was unfortunately fooled. He told me he would be able to fix my deviated septum , tip and reduce the size of my nose and make it more feminine. The outcome of the surgery is terrible! Rather than the improvements he told me he could make , my nose is now more misaligned than before, and the tip is larger and the columella hangs down. A recent consultation with another local plastic surgeon , the Dr. expressed shock at my results, emphasizing that he would never permit his patients to endure such outcomes under his care, mindful of his professional integrity and reputation. Having invested over $10,000 in this surgery, I am devastated each time I confront my reflection in the mirror and it reconfirms the gravity of the situation leaving me with no choice but to seek now find another doctor that actually has the skill to fix this botched procedure. If he couldn't work on thick skin or fix my issues he should've done the right thing and just turned down my case. He had all my prior operating notes so knew all of the details of my case. I have been wanting to get my nose done for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I never liked to smile in any photos because of how much I disliked how wide the bridge of my nose was and how long, pointy and 'droopy' it looked. Unfortunately, the longer we live, no matter how much exercise and eating right we do, the aging process just catches up with us! I am ok with this but I wanted a "softer look" and did not need to change my features-just enhance what I was born with and turn the clock back on the outside to match how I feel on the inside! I went to Dr. Hobgood after doing my own research and his name kept coming up. I live in Scottsdale and have seen some pretty bad or overdone faces and did not want this. I was not looking to have my face redone to look like the hottest new super model but just a "fresher younger version of myself". If this is you, then Dr. Hobgood is your doctor. It's been almost 5 months after my rhinoplasty and I couldn't be more in love with my nose. Growing up I've always been insecure of it. In an effort to try and mask my nose's flaws I would contour it, edit pictures or try to divert attention from it. Unfortunately, this never solved my problem so I knew I had to do something about it. Fast forward to last March at my consultation with Dr. Hobgood. I love that he knew exactly what I wanted before I even explained. He was straightforward, honest and caring. Immediately I could tell he was an expert in what he does just by conversing with him. Dr. Hobgood has changed my life! I had always contemplated getting a nose job since I was in 7th grade and I knew the minute I met Dr. Hobgood that he would be the one to do it. A week and a half ago I had an appointment with Ashley. We had a very thorough consultation, regarding the lines around my mouth and my sagging jawline. She took her time helping me to understand why a nonsmoker has so many lines around my mouth. I had no upper eyelids and the bags under my eyes were extreme. I had upper and lower eyelid surgery over two years ago which turned out amazing. I developed a cyst under my lower left eye which had nothing to do with the eye surgery. Two years after my eye surgery, Dr. Hobgood removed it. My eyes have always bothered me. The older I got I knew that I needed to have both upper and lowers done. I relocated from Chicago and being a nurse I knew all the good surgeons back home. Ever since I was in middle school, I would get terrible sinus infections (sometimes up to six per year) that would never clear up with antibiotics, steroids, diet changes, or medicated sprays. My primary doctor suggested that I get a CT scan to see what was going on and it turned out I had a severely deviated septum along with other problems found within the structure of my nose (all preventing my nose from properly functioning). Since my primary doctor mentioned I'd likely need surgery to correct the problems with my nose, I began researching online all of the double board certified ENT/ facial plastic surgeons in Arizona. I found Dr. Hobgood online and both his reviews and portfolio were outstanding. After seeing pictures of his work and reading all of his reviews, I knew I wanted Dr. Hobgood to be my surgeon. Dr. Hobgood took a lot of time to go over my case with me (it was a difficult case where most of my nose needed to be reset and restructured). Dr. Hobgood's combination of being extremely knowledgeable and having perfect bedside manner confirmed that he was the one that I wanted doing my procedure, so I went ahead and booked my surgery for a month out. The day of surgery, I was so nervous to go under anesthesia that I couldn't stop sobbing. Dr. Hobgood literally held my hand and calmed me down while my anesthesiologist (Dr. Addessi) put my IV in. Hours after I was out of surgery, Dr. Hobgood even called to check in on me to see how I was doing! I'm a month out now and I'm so glad that I got the septorhinoplasty done. Even though I'm still swollen, I can already breathe better than I could before the surgery and the cosmetic portion of the procedure that he did is pretty incredible. Super disappointed. I waited a few months to get in with Todd and was so hopeful that he could help my nasal breathing problems as well as possibly give me a rhinoplasty. I was scheduled for January and paid the $150 consult fee. I asked to be put on the cancelation list. They called me a few weeks later and said they could get me in on a Thursday. I am self employed and was completely booked out that day. Seeing how my health is more important I rescheduled and canceled my entire day. They told me he would spend an hour with me and do a nasal scope. I saw Todd over 10 years ago to remove a flesh colored mole that was on my nose. It did scar and leave a dent on the right side of my nose but I guess this was expected. Appointment day comes and the girls upfront were super short with me. All very chatty with each other like they're in high school. I go to the back room and Todd comes in. First words out of his mouth is how busy he is with rhinoplasties and how he's "double board certified" and one of the best in the valley. How he does rhinos but all of his friends so breast augmentations which are so much easier. From the beginning it was as if he was trying to talk me out of going to him because he is "so busy and so good." I was completely thrown back. He said he wasn't going to look in my nose because he could tell my septum was straight. I asked if it could be sinus related and he said he would call in a CT scan for me. He then referred me to a "newer" surgeon that is "good but not as busy." Literally spent 5 minutes with me and left. Out $150 "consult" fee and out $1,000 for canceling my entire shift. One of the snooty girls up front comes in and hands me a packet with his rhinoplasty cost and a CT form. As if i was going to pay after what i just experienced. Said the place would call me to schedule a CT. Fast forward several weeks - no call. Fast forward over a month - no call. A couple things - if you aren't interested in actually helping patients with medical ENT problems - let the front desk girls know that so patients don't waste their time. If they would've told me that he is only interested into the money part (cosmetic) j would've found another ENT. I don't care how great of a surgeon you may be but cockiness is a huge turn-off. Upset I spent 20 minutes filling out consent forms and rescheduling my entire day to be treated like I was insufficient. I left in tears and never heard back - go figure. I was referred to Dr Hobgood by my allergist. Within seconds of consulting with him, I knew he was the right doctor to perform my septoplasty. Dr Hobgood is not only incredibly personable, but he also does an amazing job! My surgery was quick, pleasant, and painless... All words that I couldn't imagine using to describe a surgery, but it's true. Although recovery lasted about 7-14 days, I wasn't in any pain throughout the process and I would describe it as extremely mild. Dr Hobgood's pre and post op paperwork was clear and the surgery center was perfect. Even on days when I was early to Dr Hobgood's office, I never had a wait. Not only is he extremely talented, but you can tell he loves his job and is so friendly & informative. I had a big hump in my nose that overpowered my face, and now it's much softer and compliments my other features. I would give him ten more stars if I could. Not only is Dr. Hobgood a stellar surgeon, but he is an amazing human being. I considered rhinoplasty for about 15 years and finally got the guts to go into a consultation two months before my wedding. After meeting him, I didn't even want to talk to another surgeon. I trusted him immediately because I could see that he was a lot like me... a perfectionist. It was obvious that he knew exactly what he was doing - I didn't even say a word about why I hated my nose - he was able to point out every part of it that I didn't like, while telling me what he would do to change it. He radiates so much passion that it even made me excited about noses too! The morning of my surgery, I was super nervous. Dr. Hobgood came in smiling and told me that he looked at my file for a long time the night before and was thinking about my nose the whole drive to the surgery center. This was a pretty big surgery because of all the little quirks and complications my nose had to offer. When I got home post-op, I looked in the mirror and freaked out because it seemed really upturned. I called him and he reassured me that this was normal - it was called a "nose bra" and not to worry (I'm a worrier/control freak, but I decided to trust him and try to be patient). Everything ended up going down just as he said it would. He spent actual time talking to me like a good friend would do, and told me to call him any time if I needed anything. So cool. My wedding is now in 9 days and I couldn't be happier. I know that I will love my pictures and exude the confidence that I was meant to always have. I fall more in love with my new nose every day, and thank Dr. Hobgood every day, even though he can't hear me! Thank you, Dr. Hobgood, for being you.
