Only complaint is the lack of real open bar, and that on New Years Eve, although we ordered 2 days ahead of time I still waited for 35 minutes past the time it should have been done with guests at my house. This is our favorite authentic Asian restaurant in Central Mass. This Thai owner does an incredible job working hard to please all her customers. The food is fresh, hand-cut and each dish prepared on the spot with heart and soul. Fresh food, no MSG, no additives, no shortcuts. We do not mind paying a little bit more for this kind of quality. The service was stellar. The food was great. Went for dinner last tuesday evening around 6pm. Dinner for two with an appetizer and no beverages costs $30 before tip. We ordered fresh rolls for an appetizer. They were yummy. I ordered country pad thai and it was perfect. My companion ordered crispy chicken. He ate every bite of it. I tried it and didnt like it at all. It tasted like greasy fried chicken. Perhaps it was supposed to? I generally like most food and was surprised that I did not like it. Ambiance was nice. We settled into a new home, and have been on the search for our new go-to take out place. After a few misses, we found what we were looking for tonight from this place. As vegans, my husband and I are often disappointed to find that most Thai restaurants use fish sauce in their curries, but our curry tonight was fish-free and maybe the tastiest I've ever had! I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. It's not even 4pm, I went in, I was the only one other than a worker's very young child in the restaurant. I was seated at a table that was dirty and had sticky stuff on it. I asked if the table could be wipe off. The woman only wanted to wipe the sticky area and not the entire table. She was rude and I couldn't believe she wouldn't wipe the entire table so I left. If they can't clean properly, what does that say about their kitchen and food? read more

This place is not what it makes itself out to be. The food is edible, but it's not good. Looking at the menu and their website (and based on other reviews), I was expecting top-notch authentic Thai food. It's expensive compared to other (good) Thai places, especially for Clinton. The beef fried rice was decent as were the spring rolls. The beef satay was sub-par; it wasn't even good. The meat was a bit over-cooked, and it was seasoned with a store-bought curry powder. The lychee duck was ok, but it was overcooked, 1/3 of the duck meat was garbage and it was really just duck choochee (and not a very good one) with some lychees thrown in. I was expecting something more unique, or at least interesting. At this price point, I expect all of the sauces to be made fresh, and the curries to be ground and mixed fresh. ALL of me wanted to love this! Never been here before, ordered take out. Order was not ready for 22 mins beyond the already 40 min pick up time. Once I got home... I did not receive the extra sauce I ordered and paid for and the order was wrong and contained the wrong meat in the dish. The apps were ice cold but the rice was hot and we had to microwave the food I had just picked up literally 5 mins earlier. I was also overcharged because they charged me tax twice and I have to go back tomorrow to get a refund. There was a problem every step of the way. read more

My family and I ordered take out from here. I ordered pad see you and my girlfriend, brother and father ordered pad Thai. We also ordered edamame and scallion pancakes. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time and they were accommodating when it came to a serious allergy. The food was extremely delicious and the portions were huge. The only downside was that it was a little expensive, more so than Thai places I usually go in Boston. However that won't deter me from ordering from here again! Very good. read more

This place is very highly rated and I don't know if it is entirely deserved. The restaurant was frigid inside, I could see all the kitchen staff wearing coats. Our starters were somewhat cold inside, but the flavor was fine. I'm always interested in eating "authentic" pad Thai and was extremely disappointed with this version. It was typically way overly sweetened like typical Americanized pad Thai, but then just has a bunch of chilis added. It was this extremely sweet/spicy dish that lacked authentic thai flavor. We tried this place for the first time last weekend. I love Thai food and my boyfriend had never tried. it. It was all so delicious and so fresh. The meals came out at different times but we knew when they came out they were hot and fresh rather than getting cold because of timing the delivery to our table. Even the water they serve is amazing-- just a nice hint of lemon without having to deal with the pulp/seeds like at other restaurants. The service is quick and friendly. Actually 3 1/2 stars. My husband and I were craving Thai the past few days and stumbled on this one via yelp. The start of out visit got off a bit rocky. Walked in and didn't see any waitstaff or hostess and we didn't know if we should seat ourselves or what... We waited and then the couple that walked in in front of us just sat down. So we did. The waitress finally saw us sitting as she took another tables order. She acknowledged us and said she would be right with us and then asked the floor helper to get us menus and water. For some very odd reason the helper asked us to move to a different table to make it easier and less walking around for the waitress.... Um really, we were sitting I guy next to the table she was serving but living us behind them was better?.... Ok whatever annoying. I felt bad for the one and only floor waitress, she definitely needed some better help and another person on floor taking orders, seating, drinks, etc. Anyways, the waitress, Jessica all on her own with a less than helpful helper, was apologetic and very nice. I didn't care it was just annoying to me and stupid. Food wise; we ordered edamame, fresh Thai spring rolls an crab Rangoon to start. All very good. The small size of everything is more than enough to share for two. Entrees we had the spicy basil pad Thai an yellow curry chicken w jasmine rice. Big portions! The curry chicken was very good and I'm not a curry lover and my pad Thai was yum!!! Definitely a do again and trying new things as their menu is HUGE! Sushi on wkends only so I think we have to go back to try that as well as some Pho! They only have a beer and wine license. But selections was fine for us. I've traveled throughout Thailand and like most restaurants in the US, something gets lost in translation. Clean, Asian modern decor and a huge menu. I indulged in scallion pancakes, yum. I ate perfect satay with authentic cucumber and peanut sauces. One companion had very fresh salmon with bright crisp vegetables and my other lunch companion had spicy basil pad Thai which I felt was good but too heavy handed with the fish sauce. All in all a good meal, atmosphere and an extremely pleasant server. read more

Am I the only one who doesn't like this place? I came for lunch. Got the L1, which is pad thai with 1 crab Rangoon & 1 thai roll. I asked to get 2 crab Rangoon and no thai rolls. They said no. I then asked for peanut sauce to put on my pad thai, that cost extra, and it had a big chunk of something inside. The crab Rangoon sucked, the thai roll was greasy, and the pad thai was flavorless. We have enjoyed Thai food at many locations around the US (and in Thailand) and feel fortunate to have such a wonderful Thai restaurant close to home. The chefs are incredible. Most recently we ordered the seaweed salad, Thai rolls, and crispy noodle pad thai for a light dinner. As always everything was fresh and flavorful, hot and satisfying. I used to live in California, just south of San Francisco. The Thai restaurants out there are fantastic, because they are fresh and authentic. Since I've moved back to Massachusetts I've stopped eating at Thai places altogether, because they all seem tasteless and bland by comparison. This is the best Thai food I've had since I left California and I will definitely be coming back. The mango curry was amazing, filled with fresh vegetables and a spicy, delicious curry sauce. They have a few authentic Thai beers, which matched perfectly with the food. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal, and between us all we had a pretty wide cross-section of the menu. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating to our large and boisterous party. Both of the owners came by our table to check on us more than once to make sure everyone was doing ok, which was a very nice touch. The interior of the place has a very relaxing, classy vibe. It's clear that a lot of hard work, care, and attention to detail went into every aspect of the place. You really owe it to yourself to try it, if you haven't yet. read more

We just ordered an absolutely excellent meal from Similan Thai Bistro. We had Lobster Pad Thai. The pad thai was cooked perfectly and had a nice amount of lobster and had a great peanut balance. There was also the crispy Lychee Duck. There was an abundance of fresh vegetables and the duck was cooked to perfection, with an excellent curry taste. A real standout for us was also the Pad Me Rainbow with Chicken. If you saw how many fresh vegetables were in this dish, you might not believe it. Great flavor, and such fresh delicious veggies. The last 2 dishes we had were beef dishes. Beef Bulgoki, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. The last one was Tiger Tear, which came with a lime chili sauce. Everything was seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of heat and flavor. We look forward to going back. Great meal and great experience. read more

My date of visit was on 2/13/15. I had actually been there about 6 months before, but this review is based on the 2/13/15 service. I ordered the Shrimp Teriyaki which came out sizzling hot. It was a great dish, but my only complaint was the shrimp still had the tails on them, so now I have to use my fingers to remove them which was a little messy. Also, the price was quite high for about the 8 shrimp I got in the dish. I also got the chicken fried rice, which was actually delicious (on my previous visit, I got the Mango Fried Rice that was also delicious). The biggest disappoint was the sushi. There was way WAY too much rice on the outside, (the rice was dry in my opinion) that took away from the taste that was inside. For that reason, I do not recommend getting sushi there. Our server name was Tyler. Maybe he was new, but he was not very attentive. There were log periods before our waters were refilled, and he never did ask me if I wanted another drink, which I probably would have gotten and made them more money. So not very impressed there. The ingredients used there are always fresh, and I was never disappointed with any dish I have gotten there in the past as far as taste. Just don't get the sushi. I left there without that 'Wow, I can't wait to go back there again'. feeling It's not a bad place if you want something different, and on the whole the food really is good. But the lack of service, the tail on the shrimp, the the disappointing sushi on that day, it may be awhile I'm sure before I go back there again. Oh, By the way, There was no wait staff to greet us when we arrived. we had to wait a few minutes to be seated even though there was no one ahead of us. Nor did we see anyone when we left to say 'good bye' or 'Have a nice day' or 'Thank you'. Need to work on that. read more

I was in from out of town, and did not expect to find decent pad thai in Clinton. But, I was pleasantly surprised when my County Pad Thai arrived at the table. It was fresh, delicious, and appropriately spicy. And the tofu was perfectly cooked. I've had a lot of pad thai, and I told my husband that this was the best I ever had. After going here for a while now, it's been apparent that the owner Patch does not know how to treat her staff. We have witnessed on several occasions her reprimanding her staff in front of customers. Her tone was not appropriate. One evening we were there she actually was scolding the young sushi chef with customers sitting right at the sushi bar. This is unprofessional and should be done in the privacy of the back room or after hours. Take care of how you treat your staff, because their attitude is reflected in the service they give or how long they will actually tolerate your type management. Take an example from Market Basket and how their management has affected their employees recently.... You want loyal staff who will help create loyal customers. Treat your staff with care and they will create repeat revenue for you. The service otherwise, in our opinion, has always been good. The food is also very good. read more

Bad food. I ordered the VEGETARIAN pad see ew and it had fish sauce. Unacceptable. Sent it back. Then I ordered the veggies with rice and peanut sauce. Peanut sauce was horrible quality it was oily and bland barely tasted any peanut flavor, and the veggies were very bland as well. I work in a restaurant as a server and have for 7 years and I hate to send food back unless absolutely necessary as I know it is not the server's fault. The service was good considering a pleasant lady admited the cook did put fish sauce in my meal after being told there was no fish sauce in it. She comped it off the meal which looks good on their part. However, the owners need to address the lack of quality in their food, as they're clearly in denial if they think the food is good. I spent too much money on food that I did not enjoy. This place has good yelp reviews which is why i came here but I honestly have no idea why. read more
