Seem to be a bit expensive. Came out fast as promised but to me that is where everything ended. Off the bat they ask what is going on and then start to lay the ground work for the up sale. First they want to send a camera down to see what is going on which is understandable however their camera service runs about $200 more then other companies and since I was in a pinch I agreed to the camera and from there it just got more expensive. After their camera exploration I learned my cast iron drain pipe has a "bulge" in it and the simple drain clean out got real expensive real fast. It went to $9,750 for a partial sewer line replacement for the inside of the house to over $22,000 for the full line replacement. Now that may be the going rate for a sewer line replacement and I am not saying my sewer line is in the best shape as the house was built in 1957 with cast iron and clay pipe but from my view point from what they showed me on the camera that price seemed to be a bit extreme. So in my mind my job went from a simple drain clean to a $22,000 job real quick. All about the up sale. Don't think I will recommend Simba Plumbing. read more

EDIT: I truly believe how you repair is more important than how you break. And in some cases, it truly distinguishes a small local business vs. big store. I contacted Simba Plumbing in order to get an estimate to replace my sewer line. Travis came out on time to assess the scope of the job. He gave me a quote that was half the price of the other bids on my job. I thought to myself, "This is too good to be true. There has to be a caveat." I contacted the owner, Stefan, with questions about the estimate, and after several back and forth emails, my assumptions were correct. They planned on coming to a final total after digging up my backyard, effectively forcing me to pay whatever they wanted to charge me to make my sewer whole. That might work for some customers who are ok with that protocol or if they're confident their job doesn't have any unseen issues, but I'm not that confident. I really wanted to work with a local, small business, but unfortunately, this just didn't work out for me. They charge between $500-$800 per hour depending on the plumber. Wouldn't give any type of quote over phone for service but charge to come out to look. I said no so he waved the service charge but when the plumber came charge was ridiculous. What cost $250 in another home was $1400 by them! We found Simba on Thumbtack and contacted them after the first guy we hired said it was beyond his skill-set. Travis was there the next day (a holiday no less!). He not only explained our leak issue, and how it needed to be address he expressed that it would probably be in our best interest to file a homeowners insurance claim because our leak was inside a brick wall and it could be costly. He was correct! After the insurance company approved the claim, we called Simba back to do the leak repair. So far they have been the only ones in this situation to turn up on time and get the job done immediately, and for a decent price. The construction company rebuilding our kitchen have been a nightmare to work with. And our kitchen is still not operational. My kitchen sink started leaking and escalated to the point where it would flood out my kitchen every other day. I had another plumber come out and he told me it needed to be replaced. I contacted multiple companies for quotes for installation and Simba Plumbing came back with the most reasonable price. They were extremely responsive and showed up exactly on time. The first faucet I bought ended up being poor quality, Travis came and installed it and let me know that the faucet would most likely not be reliable. He said he could make it work but recommended I return it and choose a better one. I hired him to first replace the polybutylene piping with PEX under my driveway that connects my house main to the city main. Stefan did such an amazing job, I called him back and hired him again to relocate my entire plumbing stack in the kitchen, as we relocated our kitchen island. This required cutting the concrete, relocating all the pipes to their new location and the filling in with cement. His work again was impeccable. He kept a clean job site, very thorough, and professional. Lastly, I just hired him again, to remove and replace our new Soft Water system. Stefan is professional, honest, and a hard worker. Called Simba Plumbing mid morning and got same-day service for 3 pm. The principal, Stefan, arrived on time and delivered old-school craftsmanship IMO. The emergency work was done so well and so fast, we asked for another repair, a stuck bathtub faucet.
