We walked in about two minutes after the show was scheduled to start. Most people were already seated. Several people in our group waited in line for drinks while one person went into save seats. Because we did not arrive early, we did not get the best seats. (I recommend arriving when the seating opens versus doing what we did !) Also, make sure you use the bathroom before finding seats if you're drinking (or have a tiny bladder), because the show is long and if you are sitting in the wrong spot, it is really awkward to get up and walk out in front of everybody during the show so you can use the bathroom LOL. 10 out of 10 highly recommend going to see a show in the space, which is very intimate with nice acoustics.

A.R.T. was founded in 1980, and it's been an important professional, not-for-profit theater since its founding. It's gone lots of Tony awards and other theater accolades to show for it. Our experience was great. The play was outstanding. It was a treat to see that cast in such a unique, timely play. The theater was intimate, and there's not a bad seat in the house. The line for the bar and bathrooms wasn't bad. And it just felt like a special theater experience. A.R.T. is moving soon - to a new theater: the David E. and Stacey L. Goel Center for Creativity & Performance in Allston. While I think it's too bad that the theater's new location won't be as accessible by public transportation (it's now just a short walk from Harvard station), but I'm sure it will be beautiful facility. I'm glad I got to see this incredible production in Loeb Drama Center before they move in 2027! A special and unique place for theater if you're lucky enough to find yourself in Boston. If you can go see Rhinoceros before it closes, you should!

Every seat I've sat in has had a great view of these high-quality productions. I appreciate that you are given a physical program, but you scan the QR code for the full program. The staff are all friendly and happy to help. They offer a nice selection of snacks and drinks to purchase that you can bring into the theater. They also validate parking at the information desk after you scan your ticket. There's plenty of great restaurants nearby to have dinner at before an evening show - I try a new one each time I visit the ART. Plus, cannolis from Mike's Pastry are nearby, so no need to travel to the North End!

It exists, and it's *awesome.* SIL is the quarterback for our very own DC Divas, and over the years the Divas have met the Boston Militia in regular and post-season games a number of times. In Boston, games take place at Dilboy in Somerville. Dilboy looks like a truly professional facility: gorgeously maintained turf field, manicured landscaping, an actual ticket booth, well-kept restrooms, a free-standing concession stand, a large press box, plenty of seating with both visitors and home seating on the same side of the stadium. Viewing games at Dilboy is a pleasure. A great spot for showcasing women's pro sports.

Dilboy Stadium is owned, operated and maintained by the Somerville Department of Public Works. It…read moreis open to the public at designated hours (but you might want to call ahead of time to verify hours). It's a stadium. It's new. It's a soccer/football field covered in lush turf. The grounds are protected from gulls and other pests by faux fox. Surrounding the turf is a beautiful rubberized track and bright stadium lights. The stadium itself is a concrete structure with public bathrooms (when the field is in use) and locker rooms for HOME and VISITING teams (but not open for BSSC). I've only played on this field for BSSC soccer games, but it's by far my favorite of all the others (Wayland is nice, but far....). They are host to local sports teams in HIgh School and College as well. A short drive from Powderhouse Circle, Davis Square, and Teele Square, it's also the closest field that's equally gorgeous. Of course, such a first class field has it's woes. Beware of DPW grounds keepers. They are very strict about their rules and are quick to enforce them. + No cleats on the track, only on cloth which has been carefully bridged over the rubber. + No sports drinks. WATER ONLY. Grrrr... + No food or gum either.

My mom and I visited the Gropius House when we spent a day in Concord a week or so ago, and it was…read moreincredible. Walter Gropius was one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. He founded the Bauhaus, a German art, design, and architecture school in 1919. It's incredible how influential Bauhaus was and continues to be, considering it only lasted until 1933 (when it was closed by the Nazis). Gropius left Nazi Germany in 1934 and arrived in the United States in February 1937, with his wife and 12-year-old daughter. Gropius became a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and built this house in Lincoln, Massachusetts, for himself and his family. Gropius lived in the house until his death in 1969, and his wife lived in the house until own death in 1983. The house opened to the public in 1985, operated by Historic New England. I arranged a tour in advance for my mom and me, and about 5 other people joined our tour. Our tour guide Christine showed us around both floors of the house. She was great and so was the tour! The house is really incredible. It features design elements of Gropius and Bauhaus, but Gropius also featured design elements inspired by New England (the exterior's vertically-oriented white planks and stone elements). The house is just cool - an incredible staircase in the entry hall, an open coatroom, glass blocks, and more. On the tour, you can enter every room of the house, and there's so much to say about each one. The furniture is incredible, and so is the art. The Gropiuses had famous and talented friends that stayed at the house, and the house is filled with art and mementos from those friends. The tour is incredible. If you're at all interested in architecture, this house is a must visit!

Turn out everyone is funneled through the stairs even if our seats were the prime spots in the Orchestra section. First thing I noticed were the painted walls. They were cool, and a more modern touch than the elaborate engravings of many of the other theatres in the area. It also is a cozier theatre. But there were enough room between seats that I didn't have to stand just to allow other row-mates to pass by me. My seat neighbors told me that the balcony is terrible for hearing - I believe it since even from where I sat in the third row slightly off center, I had a little trouble hearing the actor furthest from me. Fix the sound system, and they would earn my 4th (fan) star easy. *** 9/2013 *** Attended Potted Potter - The Unauthorized Harry Experience, a Parody by Dan and Jeff - and I had a good time. Flashing my ticket got me to the appropriate stage, the seat was roomy enough, the stage close enough, the show entertaining enough. And the game of quidditch at the very end got the heart pumping.

I think they started in Las Vegas and then opened branches/troupes in various cities, Boston being one of them. Performance artists who did some crazy tricks, played unconventional PVC tube type instruments to rhythmic tribal beats, and had the uncanny habit of making audience members be a part of the show and feel nervous. The band was above the stage, oddly, on a platform above where the tricks and performance artists were. The music was OK, but after hearing two or three songs you realize the music all sounds pretty much the same. The band was a music-only/non-vocal four piece band: Chapman Stick, Bass, Keyboards, and Drums. The show was OK. The company bought us the ticket, after we had lunch in Central Square, Cambridge, and we all met up at Park Street Station and walked over to some theater. I never would have gone on my own accord, but it was a company event. If you've seen it once there is no reason to see it twice, good but not that captivating. Thing is, that really struck me as odd and trashy... the tickets were not cheap, in fact back then it was $55.00. But as we all exited, two of the band members were at the exit doors with these big buckets looking for donations/tips. I've never seen that before.

They still had a lot of the same acts that still stand and bring lots of laughs as well as new and hilarious ones. This time I was sitting in the fourth row, pancho section which was perfectly close enough to the stage, but not too close where I was cranking my neck. I don't wanna spoil any thing from the show, but here are some helpful tips: - if you can, get middle section poncho seats - if you're in the poncho section, dress light! it gets hot under there - the music is amazing and loud! (They provide ear protection by request). - they also provide masks - boosters available for the littles - have a special occasion? You can contact them 48 hours before the show to have a special LED message displayed. - post show meet & greet for additional $$ - bathrooms are super clean as well as the waiting area - merch available - Bar with small snacks and lots of seating in the waiting area Bring the whole family it's very kid friendly and they will have an awesome time ! I'm going to admit something that will probably get me killed. I don't like baseball. Since my…read moredays in this town may now be limited I will begin my goodbyes and tell you about a sport I *do* like, lacrosse. Back home we used to watch Colorado's professional lacrosse team, Mammoth, and enjoy the sheer ridiculous spectacle that is an NLL game. So. When I heard that Boston was getting a professional team I was psyched. Unfortch that was 2008 and there was a player strike so alas, no games. Waah Waah. Luckily, new year, new team. Welcome 2009 and the inaugural season of the Boston Blazers. There are a few things to know about NLL games: The tickets are CHEAP. They start at $13, no joke. Screw those tickets though, drop the additional $10 and get down near the floor. The arena (The Garden) is oddly empty since people aren't huge lacrosse fans and Boston hasn't quite caught on that there's another team to be maniacal about. Now, this doesn't mean people aren't taking their shirts off and screaming at the ref, cause they are. Also, you might see people in Spiderman masks. I don't get it either. BUT if you hate packed arenas, this is a game for you. The game is *violent*. Like hockey used to be before they softened it up for "safety" and "players health". Bah. The players beat each other with sticks, fists, and whatever is nearby. The shove one another in to the glass with an amazingly satisfying THUNK and only wear padding on the upper half of their bodies (well, presumably a cup but whatevs). So yeah, these games are off the hook. The Blazers thus far have a pretty good record especially for a freshman team. They won the game we saw with two points in the last 10 seconds of the game. The winning point within .5 seconds. Awesome. They also have dancers, The Sparks, if that's your gig and for the kiddies a creepy mascot Scorch. Something for everyone. Hopefully more people will get on board so that they stick around this time. Just not enough to raise ticket prices to ridiculous levels.

FIRED UP! I've…read morebeen to a few Blazers games and I am now a fan. Truth be told, I've never been into lacrosse, but I am now hooked. Indoor Lacrosse is too fun to pass up and this is the first year the Blazers are playing at the Garden. What started as taking advantage of sweet ticket deals to attend a sports game has turned into a love of this team. The Blazer games at the Garden are outstanding. The sport is quick like hockey, only more fighting! Yes! And they play music the whole time, even through game play! Woo! And everyone seems to be having such a great time! Awesome! And the team is pretty good! Score! Captain Dan Dawson is leading his team, along with a great goalie (NICE SAVE, COSMO!). Don't write off lacrosse just because it's Celtic and Bruin season...stick around for Boston's newest team!
