When we arrived at Red Cliff Mack treated us like we were old friends. He made the registration and safety review enjoyable. Once on the trail the scenery was beautiful and the riding was fun. The machine was comfortable, simple to operate, and more importantly, a blast to drive. Be sure to bring a lunch for a picnic and plenty of water. Don't forget a warm jacket as the weather can change quickly at the higher altitude. If your looking to get into the mountains, on your own, be sure to check out Rocky Mountain Adventure Rentals.

Unfortunately, we had made an honest mistake and accidentally booked it for the following week--when we would no longer be in town. We immediately contacted the business while we were at the location, explained the situation, and asked about a refund or reschedule. We were told we could receive a refund minus a 7.5% fee--roughly $30--for "processing." When we kindly asked for a full refund, the staff member not only refused but claimed that because she had to be on the phone and "click a button," we had now cost the business money. She stood firm that no matter the situation, a 100% refund would not be given. It's one thing to have a policy. It's another to treat a customer's good faith mistake with zero flexibility and then blame the cost of customer service on them. We didn't use any equipment, take anyone else's spot, or cancel last minute--we simply misread the date and immediately tried to make it right. $30 is a small amount, but it speaks volumes about how this company handles honest errors. We will absolutely book with another adventure company next time we're in Winter Park--one that values people over rigid policy and doesn't treat a polite refund request like an inconvenience.

First time visiting (3 consecutive days) this store. I was looking for a helmet to replace my crap…read moreHarley modular, and found this location that I had never heard of (lived here 9 years). I knew what I wanted when I went to the store, but was open to looking at new options. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable in all aspects of helmet fitting, reviews and the manufacturing process. My barrier was I had never purchased a quality ($$$$) helmet even though that should logically be the biggest/smartest investment for anyone on 2 wheels. Peace be upon you that choose not to wear one. I'll tell you what, you don't wear a helmet and I will and we'll both get boxed off the shoulder by a cage at 55mph+ and whomever can wipe their own *ss and form words after physical rehab and recovery, wins. Anyhow day 1 wrapped after an hour and gave me some homework to do on research. Day 2 Stephen and Orion hooked me up on a sweet Shoei modular and I went home as instructed and wore it around for about 3 hours, called Shoei tech support (they are more than awesome) and ultimately decided I had gotten a size too large. Day 3 I took it back to look at more options and/or size down. Cycle Gear's return policy for helmets is nearly unheard of, with exception to some online retailers. I ended up sizing down in the same awesome helmet after some more great assistance from the store staff in changing out the comm device, etc. The helmet I bought, the Shoei Neotec 2 with the Sena Bluetooth installed, cost half as much as my first car. I had no idea a full face helmet could be so quiet and comfortable. I have traditionally worn a half helmet or my old Easyrider special. The Shoei is much safer and flexible as it is modular, and has the pinlock to prevent fogging among other great features. There are other helmets, but this one is hard to beat. Damn, all those years of bugs, rocks, tar and who knows what and I could have been in something like this. Same evening of purchase (tonight) I took a flipped rock or something about the size of a dime going 65 on I 25 north. I wont be returning the helmet because there is a nice little ding mark that actually rubbed out right below the face shield in front of my mouth. I would like to thank the staff at Cycle Gear for some great service and advice. Service sells. This store has excellent service and a great product lineup with a national supply chain if they don't have what you need in stock. The staff lives the motorcycle lifestyle and they get what you are talking about. I highly recommend this store location for anything motorcycle or motorcycle accessory related.

SERIOUS workmanship/customer-service issue!!!…read more Extremely disappointing experience. We would not trust this shop with our bike again. My husband and I brought our dirt bike to this shop for a head-gasket replacement and a diagnostic. We were initially quoted approximately 3 hours of repair, but the final bill ended up being around 5 hours, or $1,100. That's NOT the part that was a problem. We were specifically told that they had run a diagnostic, replaced the head gasket, and test-ridden the bike before returning it to us. When we showed up to pick up the bike, the lead mechanic literally looked at us and said, "Oh fuck." The bike was completely dead, and the seat was still off. We waited 25 minutes for them to charge the bike, which they started for themselves and quickly shut off when my husband went to look at it. Despite this, we were told the bike was ready and that the diagnostic and test ride had been completed. We took the bike home, rode it less than one mile, and it overheated. At that point, we immediately started trying to contact the shop. We called multiple times and received no response. No callbacks. No explanation. Nothing. We eventually got ahold of the owner, who told us that he would take care of it. We expected that to mean the shop would stand behind the work we had just paid approximately $1,100 for. Instead, after the owner had us speak with the lead mechanic, we were told that we could bring the bike back in -- but we would have to pay them for another diagnostic. Let that sink in: We had already paid approximately $1,100 for a head-gasket repair and a diagnostic. We were told the bike had been diagnosed and test-ridden. It overheated within one mile of getting it back. We then had to repeatedly chase the shop down just to get a response, only to be told that if we brought it back, we would have to pay again for a diagnostic. The lead mechanic also opened the conversation with "Let me refresh your memory" and proceeded to speak to my husband with an extremely dismissive and defensive attitude rather than taking responsibility or trying to resolve the situation. Mechanical repairs don't always go perfectly. We understand that things can happen. That's not what bothers us. What bothers us is being charged $1,100, being told a diagnostic was performed and the bike was test-ridden, getting the bike back dead, having it overheat almost immediately, being ignored when we tried to contact the shop, and then being asked to pay yet again to diagnose a problem that should have been addressed by the work we had already paid for. At this point, we're taking the bike to another shop and will have to pay again to get it properly diagnosed and repaired. We expected competent work, honest communication, and accountability. Instead, we got an unresolved mechanical problem, poor communication, attitude, and an owner who said he would take care of the situation only for his lead mechanic to tell us we'd have to pay more money. We strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop with your bike. We certainly won't be using them again.

And I asked for a few add-ons which Lee, the owner, made sure were done when I arrived to pick up the bike. They also helped me out with the right accessories and helped with a perfect fitting helmet for my son which I really appreciated. They also were not trying to sell me the most expensive things - they were trying to sell me what would work for me. They have a great inventory and treated me so very well. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. If there were ten stars available I'd give them ten stars.
