Since we were in the Mars area, we decided to head over to the Mars Brew House. This shop is located in downtown Mars on Pittsburgh Street. It is located in what looks to be an old large house and I think that you were able to go in at one point in time but only the window was open on this morning. The gentleman that was working the window as super nice and introduced his dogs to both of my kids. After looking around for the menu, he had to take a picture of it with my phone so that I could see it. After looking at it l ultimately decided on a large latte and after being asked about a flavor chose toasted marshmallow while my wife also chose a latte and went with hazelnut for her flavoring. It wasn't long before we had our coffees and headed to our car. My coffee here ended up being alright. The flavor of marshmallow was good but I found the coffee itself to be mostly lost behind it and the milk. So it wasn't bad but I just wish that I had more flavor coming through on what should have been the star. My wife did at least enjoy her hazelnut coffee. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While my wife enjoyed her latte, I definitely could have used more coffee flavor in mine.

I did not have this shop on my radar and only found it because we were in Zelienople. It is located on a side street right off Main Street and parking was easy as there were a number of spots both in front and just past it. The shop itself is welcoming with a dark brown colored floor, a grey brick coffee bar and a wooden board ceiling. The tables are all live edge and the photos around the shop focus on nature. There is also a small area with merchandise for sale. For my coffee this morning I decided to go with an Americano while my wife went with an iced vanilla latte. We also picked up a stamped gingerbread molasses shortbread cookie and a biscotti which we shared with our kids. The biscotti had a nice snap and great flavor while the gingerbread cookie was deep and rich with those warm gingerbread spices. It was good enough that I went back up and bought another one just for my wife. As for the coffee, both my wife and I really enjoyed it. My Americano came out piping hot. After letting it cool a bit I tried it and thought the flavor was excellent. Letting the coffee speak for itself was the right move here. It had some fruity notes before finishing with a natural sweetness that I really enjoy in coffee. I would not call it bold, probably due to the size of the Americano, but it certainly was not muted either. Honestly, if I had added milk or creamer to this cup I think it would have ruined the flavor that I liked so much. My only issue was that the bottom quarter of the cup had a lot of grounds in it. There were enough that I ended up throwing the rest away. I was also able to try my wife's coffee and really enjoyed what I think was a homemade vanilla flavoring. It almost had a caramel like note that paired nicely with the coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. My wife and I both liked the vibe of the shop and the coffee was very good. I only wish my Americano had not been filled with grounds at the bottom.

I had been seeing this coffee truck for months and always wanted to stop by. However, it was usually a Saturday after 2 PM at The Block at Northway whenever I saw it, so the stars had never aligned until this day. Since it's a food truck type of coffee place, there isn't too much to say about it other than the fact that it's bright orange and generally has 2-3 workers whenever I see it outside The Block at Northway. For our coffee on this day, both my wife and I went with the iced coconut drink. One cool thing about the packaging here is that they put your drinks in a clear, can-type vessel where you have to pop the top. It's definitely unique, and I haven't seen any other coffee shops in my travels doing anything similar. As for the coffee here, it was solid but not spectacular. I enjoyed the cold foam on top and the coconut flavor, but I would have appreciated more of the actual coffee coming through. My wife also enjoyed hers but felt the same way and wanted more of the coffee flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. While both my wife and I were left wanting more coffee flavor, the flavorings were good, and they also seem to have some interesting drinks that I would love to try.
