I have been multiple times to this place and literally every time I do I I leave smiling and satisfied like Michael Scott at a "that's what she said" convention. The Menu is unique and ever changing. There have been sandwiches where I thought to myself "self I don't know if this will be very good. Why are you trying this" and then it blows my mind with emotions that the human language doesn't have words to describe. An eggplant Parmesan sandwich??? Do you think that sounds good? Well, guess what it's spectacular. They have a red vodka sauce that will tantalize the very tips of your taste buds until they tingle like newlywed virgin gal on her wedding night. Oh hey here's a collard green melt.... Saaaaayyy whooowuut?? Marinated with miso beer this thing will enlarge your soul as if you just spent a week communing with the Lord in the woods on high. Truly , this place is a class above any other sandwich shop in this fine state. My husband and I walked in to grab a sandwich at 6:25 on Friday night. The guys behind the counter were clearly not happy to see us. They said that any food that came out after 6:30 would have to be a to-go order because they close at 7:00. This is a fast food sandwich shop - not a five course meal. We assured them that we would be done eating by 7:00 and took a seat with the six other patrons sitting there. I ordered the chopped cheese sandwich. Way overpriced for a mediocre sandwich. My husband got the Thai basil sandwich and only ate a few bites. Not great. At 6:50, the staff started playing the song "closing time" on repeat, getting louder each time it played. It was so rude and off-putting. We were done eating by 6:55 and left the restaurant. Overall: way too expensive for mediocre food, and the service was terrible. The staff is so blatantly rude. I came here a while back and thought the food and coffee was great but a bit expensive for what I got. I came back recently and no longer have that issue. I usually get a honey buffalo sandwich which is amazing! Compared to when I first went I swear the size of the chicken in the sandwich doubled in size. Great food and great coffee. My fellow foodie BFF forwarded me a Facebook Reel advert of Silverside Deli. We were both very excited to try this place. From the video it really looked like our kind of place. Before a Utah basketball game last Saturday, we decided to give it a try. My excitement for this place turned quickly to real disappointment. First of all, the counter service was not good. The dude totally seemed disinterested in welcoming us or answering any questions about the sandwiches. Then I saw the prices and my jaw hit the floor. I am not a cheap guy, but $50.48 is a bit much for two sandwiches, two drinks and one order of Cajun fries, from a fast-casual type of a restaurant. Paying this much for food, I fully expect it to 'wow' me, but sadly it didn't come close. I ordered the French Dip. it was incredibly small and won the award for greasiest sandwich I have ever had in my life. I could taste the grease from last month! As a French Dip connoisseur, I know that the au jus makes or breaks a good FD sandwich. It looked like chicken broth, was flavorless, and was lukewarm. I asked for an additional au jus, hoping it would be hot, but alas no, it was the same, but who am I fooling, no amount of au jus can cover the greasy taste of that meat. I stopped at half a sandwich. Now I had a different problem; at what point during 2.5 hours of a basketball game was the grease bomb in my gut going to go off? My buddy got the Chicken Parm sandwich and he wasn't impressed either, He found the sauce on it to be overly spicy and it overwhelmed the rest of the flavors. The Cajun fries were decent. I really wanted to like this place, but I will not be back. If they continue with those prices and food quality, I full expect their location to be vacant very soon. read more

What a great place to stop in for a meal. The staff is really friendly and so positive. The effort put into their menu is impressive and definitely involves much thought and creativity. We arrived 10 minutes after they had opened and there were only 2 tables open to sit at. Great local support. You order at the counter and then they bring out your meal once it's prepared. Everything is freshly made. Their from scratch sauces are nothing short of fantastic. I am a sucker for chicken sandwiches and am a bit of a self professed Chicken Sandwich snob. I had the Honey Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The portion was huge, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the flavors amazing. Loved the sauces that were incorporated. I would order this sandwich one, two or fifty more times!!! LOL. It was awesome. My wife had the May special, which was a Truff Fried Chicken Sandwich. She loved it and was equally impressed with our experience. We are already planning our next visit and look forward to this becoming one of our new frequents. I wish we would have stopped in sooner. Although pretty spicy, it was perfectly balanced with the creamy coleslaw and sweet, tangy pickles. Incredible. I accidentally walked by it during my work-time lunch walk. I normally skip lunch but was kind of hungry and 'deli' meant sandwich to me and that sounded good. Easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches in Salt Lake City. Highly recommend making it there before 11 to try it. Additionally, we ordered curbside and he walked it out to us within 2 minutes of us calling and telling them that we were there. Collard greens sandwich is the truth! It is very flavorful and the greens are tender. Despite there being no meat, this sandwich is very filling. We told Chris (cashier and manager) they could sell the collard herbs separately as a side. My only suggestion is to put this sandwich on a bun or hoagie roll because the greens side gets pretty soggy. We also had the cheese fries and the Italian beef sandwich. Cheese fries were very good even though I only had enough room for one bite. They will be a great late night snack. The beef sandwich was OK. The au jus needed salt. Yelp took down my first review, so I'm reviewing again. Had an amazing Italian Beef sandwich that came with au jus on the side for dipping. The beef was flavorful and very thinly sliced. I opted for the spicy giardiniera, which complemented the beef very well and was deliciously tart and crisp. The roll was also exactly what I would expect--crusty, and held up to the dipping, but also soft and fluffy on the inside, absorbing the au jus like a sponge. The au jus itself had a star anise/pho spice flavor. It made it interesting without detracting from the sandwich at all. The restaurant itself was very clean, and staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Food came out very quickly, and was hot and tasty. The owner of the restaurant checked in a couple of times and was very amicable and welcoming. I look forward to returning soon! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Service was quick, the employees were all very friendly. They easily answered questions about the menu and we wound up trying two sandwiches, a side of brussel sprouts and an iced coffee. Everything was flavorful and the right balance of flavors. The portions were perfect as well. Nobody left hungry! The iced coffee was sweet but not so much that you couldn't taste the coffee flavor through the mocha. My only negative is that I don't have an appetite big enough to try one of everything. 10/10 I'd go back and try something new. read more

I went for breakfast on a Sunday after reading positive reviews and looking at their menu with prices online. it was 11am and the first thing that I noticed was that the price for the breakfast sandwich was a dollar more than advertised online. I was prepared to say "oh well" and get it but found that they stop serving breakfast at 10:30 and would I like to try their 'chopped cheese' instead. I looked at the prices totally befuddled because I don't think that they had one under $15. unwilling to pay over $20 for a casual Sunday lunch (sandwich + drink + tax + tip), I left. I went home and looked at their website again- I had not dreamed it- the prices were several dollars less. I have come to expect this with places that have been open for years and who never update their website but they had only been open for 2 months. my judgement; unaffordable for the food category they are in. Visited or the first time yesterday for lunch. Asked the young Man behind the counter for his opinion on 2 different offerings and you'd have thought I asked him for his social security number. So customer service was off to a shaky start. Someone needs to train or re-train why this is important. Ordered a french dip, honey chicken sandwich and an order of fries. All had a reasonably good flavor and the food was served quickly. Would we return? Very unlikely as our bill was $45 after including a 10% tip. This is a self-serve business, but did not want to leave nothing even though the experience with the first employee could have justified such. The quality of this order would have been acceptable at about half of what they currently charge. No way imo should a smaller sandwich cost $16+ and not include a drink and a side. But more power to them if that is acceptable to most/some! read more

Silverside now has breakfast sandwiches! I had their bacon breakfast sandwich and it was sooooo delicious! It has hash brown in it... like seriously so crazy delicious cause you wouldn't think of having that in a sandwich. The in-house made chipotle sauce is what makes this sandwich so different from any breakfast sandwich. The bacon is cooked to perfection, the eggs are super fresh and you can have chives add in. I was by myself, so I didn't get any sides, but the ones they brought out to others looked incredible. The staff was friendly and came out to see if I needed anything else.
