I can tell you this: I don't hate collard greens after trying their "I hate collard greens" sandwich, that's for sure! This place has been on my list for a while now and I'm glad I finally got to check it out. On Saturdays & Sundays they have a $3 mimosa deal, which obviously drew me in. They have a bunch of different flavors, I know they have OJ and watermelon, and a couple others. They also have a raspberry mint mimosa for $4. The raspberry mint mimosa comes with an ice cube with raspberries and mint in it. I liked it, but it took a long time for the ice cube to melt, so I didn't really get the flavors of the raspberry mint until my champagne was almost gone. You order up at the counter and are given a number and they bring you your food and drinks. I got the "I hate collard greens" sandwich and it was really yummy, and had a kick to it. It was served on rye bread and had swiss cheese, collard greens, slaw, and a spicy dressing. I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, so it was a little bit on the spicy side for me personally, and next time I could I would see if I could not add that spicy remoulade. They also have a vegan option of this sandwich and another vegetarian sandwich on the menu. Their menu is very meat focused, which many sandwich shops are! I had been wanting to try this place for a while but their hours are a little different, more like deli hours as they close at 4 pm. However, I am very glad I got to give them a try this weekend. The chopped cheese fries were phenomenal, The fries were crispy and soft on the inside, and loaded with toppings. This place does not skimp on the meat or the cheese, and everything tasted fresh. I went to Silverside Deli for the first time about a week ago for lunch. There are a few street parking spots out front if not taken, otherwise you'll have to park in some lot nearby. It's a nice shop with a good amount of seating and the staff taking my order seemed friendly to me. It wasn't super busy or loud. There are many hot sauces to try by the drink machine. I went with the chicken parm sandwich and honey balsamic brussel sprouts. The food came out pretty fast. The brussel sprouts had great flavor, and there were a lot, but they were a little too greasy for me. Also, many of the leaves had separated instead of having almost whole sprouts to bite into. That would be my preference. The sandwich was a good size and meaty. I had half at lunch and saved the rest for the next day. I'm used to chicken parm being very tomato saucy and cheesy, but this one had some spice, which I love, but it was a little more sour/acidic than I'm used to. Maybe it was the peppers they used. Overall, I liked my food and would come back again. I also like how they have a couple monthly specials, so you can always try something new (ex. Indian curry chicken or orange chicken sandwiches). I make this review out of good faith. My family loves this place, the fries and chopped cheese are delicious. However, it seems every time we visit, there are no tables available, seeing as there are only 10 tables in the restaurant. It's either a party of 2 taking a table for 4, or a party staying long after they are done eating. Last time we tried this restaurant, we saw a party with playing cards and no food in front of them. The meats were perfectly seasoned, and the fresh, crispy veggies added a perfect crunch. I typically steer away from ordering cold sandwiches, but I am glad I did this time! Not to forget, the size was HUGE, leaving me leftovers for lunch the next day. My partner couldn't resist their spicy chicken sandwich, which had just the right kick and was incredibly juicy. We paired our meal with their hand-cut Cajun fries, which were perfectly crisp with just the right amount of spice. If you like 5 guys fries, this place has beat the taste and quality. Just a really good and unique sandwich shop. A lot of places have come and gone over the years in Sugarhouse. I think and hope that Silverside will stay. I had the spicy chicken sandwich in "hot" and it was really good. It was spicy but it should be. Warning - don't touch your eyes after you eat it. I did and struggled to drive home. The Birds Eye chili is no joke! The chopped cheese fries are good as well but next time I'll probably just get regular fries. Our group also tried the hot ham and swiss melt, honey buffalo chicken, and turkey sub and we were all happy. The staff were great and we were checked on multiple times while we ate. When we were asked which flavor of mimosa we would like (and there are a few) I was kind of confused... I mean, I thought mimosas were made with orange juice, but instead of juice, the fruit part of the drink is actual frozen fruit. My orange was a frozen little petal shape and my friend's strawberries were in a little square. Wow.. just wow. Stopped here after a ski day on the way home and it perfectly hit the spot. Fries were perfectly cooked to a light fluffy crisp. Also came in Cajun which I will try next time. I got the November special Korean fried chicken sammy and it did not disappoint. Perfectly crispy cook, juicy on the inside and the flavors were amazing. Fairly priced at around $16 a sandwich and I believe it was around $6 or $7 for the fries. They have free water cups which is nice and a plethora of fun unique hot sauce to try. A side of fries over $10 felt excessive. Eggplant Parm - 1 Star - The sandwich was very spicy. The one who ordered it could not finish it. It was a big disappointment as eggplant parm is a big time favorite. Spicy Chicken - 3 Stars - The sandwich was very saucy. The chicken tasted like it was frozen and the placed in a fryer. We had an unfortunate experience with our first time here- someone had stolen our food while we were waiting at our table. We waited awhile for our order that never came and finally asked someone at the counter. Apparently someone had walked in after us, took a peek at our order number, then walked up to the counter (while we were seated) and claimed to be us (then changed the order to "to-go" and walked out). When we asked about our food, they realized what had happened and quickly apologized. They redid our order and the person in charge (I believe his name was Kris) was very apologetic and spoke to us directly. He was absolutely great and it gave me more faith in restaurant customer service again. The food was delicious. I had the brussel sprouts and a Vietnamese sandwich. So much flavor! When we were on our way out, Kris caught up to us again to apologize and even gave us a refund. Food was awesome, service was just as great. Will be back again to try out the other menu items. Rude and unprofessional staff. My husband and I came in to try this place at 6:20 on a Saturday night. Despite the posted hours (it's supposed to be open until 7:00 pm), the entire seating area was cleaned and closed up for the night with all chairs put up on their tables. We thought about grabbing something to go, but the smell of cleaner was so powerful in the restaurant that it was nauseating. Also, the young staff, who didn't greet us at all, was giving us dirty looks for even daring to be there at such a time. Since they clearly did not want our business, we left and walked to a restaurant down the street (who also closed at 7:00 pm), and had a much better dining experience. We didn't even try the food, but I wouldn't go back to this place. Staff needs a serious attitude adjustment, or close your restaurant at 6:00 so they can leave when they want to. read more
