    Park

Beautiful, well-kept Park. Great for kids, groups and outdoor parties on the cement picnic tables. The playground was awesome-- there was so much to do. Swings, slides, a spinning structure, little bridges, and a separate play area for younger children.

Silverset park is tucked away from the Twin Peak Rd traffic behind big houses next to a hill. The park has modern well-maintained play structures, slides, monkey bars, sandbox, restrooms (clean!) and there is a baseball field. There are some picnic benches next to the play structures. The track around the park is always busy will people of all ages walking, jogging with or without dogs. My kids always love this place :-) Last Christmas, while walking around the park, we were treated with holiday decorations and Christmas ornaments hanging on trees and on bushes around the walking track -- the sight of which brought excitement in the eyes of my kids, it was a "delight" to see that. Address according to Google Maps: 12883 Silverset Street, Poway, California, United States http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Pr6wXQCAZTb47OvtYBQYQg?select=TomXuWrbrntHunGM0k42jA

This is my favorite park so far in Poway. There is much to love about this park. A few being that there is two play grounds one for bigger kids 5-12 and the other for toddlers and babies. I feel better bringing my 12 month old here knowing she won't be trampled on by bigger kids. I do come to exercise with my dog as well. It will be nice when we can finally let the dogs be free and play with one another.

There's a parking lot, bathrooms, picnic tables scattered throughout, a playground, a walking path, a basketball court, a baseball field... and if you look carefully you will find volleyball posts out there too. Bring your own net for that one! There's also barbecue stands around that are ready for your coals and grilling pleasure. If you look at a map on your phone while you're walking around there, you will notice that the walking path (large as it is) does not circumnavigate the park by a long shot. There's a significant bit of off-road trail hiking available here! It's lovely. Pro tip: it's super slippery and muddy in the hilly trails after it's been raining! Do not recommend. Would be lovely at all other times though. Dog-friendly, but keep your fur-babies on a 6-ft leash at all times. Doggy bags provided! Kid friendly. Family-friendly. RC airplane friendly (avoid the giant chain-link cage around the baseball field though, as I saw one guy figure out the hard way while I was there...)

Everybody and their grandma knows about Potato Chip Rock so lots of people wanting their photo on the Rock, but I was too impatient and didnt feel like waiting or socialize, so I just hiked there, saw it and came back down. I love this park, the lake is very pretty and soothing to see waterfowl and people enjoying the water. I decided to bike here today and its close to 7 miles away, 15 min by car, and about 40 min by bike. The bike ride is a workout as there are hills both ways, so be prepared for that. I havent biked in awhile but planning to get back into it, so took my MTB out for a spin and it def needs a tune up. I stopped by the lake and sat at some picnic tables that were shaded and had a nice view of the lake and the Lookout Restaurant and got to see a lot of birds too. Was so nice to be able to spend a weekend afternoon here, it was exactly what my soul & body was yearning for! On the weekends, there is a $10 parking fee, and free for Poway residents. I think on the weekdays there is no parking fee. I don't recall paying when I hiked Potato Chip Rock and it was a weekday during the holidays. I was on bike so no fee either. Ill keep this place in mind if I wanna do a 10K run and back next time, people on foot also free. A really nice local lake to get a bit of nature in! I will be back over & over again!

Worth the price of my monthly HOA lol. My kiddos can stay here for hours and would probably do so if they had the choice. I like that it's walking distance from our home and that it's never too crowded. Yes, it's close to the Boys and Girls Club so there tends to be a good amount of traffic but it is still a safe place. I'll be back for sure.

One of the most delightful features of 4S Ranch community park is its provision of large tables and chairs, perfect for hosting parties and gatherings. For SD hiking ladies group, this park has become more than just a place to walk--it's a go-to party destination. We hosted our White Elephant holiday party here three years in a row. One of the park's standout features is its very decent and clean restroom facilities--a rarity in many outdoor settings. Another major draw for the hiking ladies group is the park's plentiful parking. However, as seasoned visitors of the park know, there's one caveat to keep in mind--the weekend sports event at the nearby boys' club. For anyone planning a big party, I suggest you to keep an eye on the schedule of sports events happening at the nearby boys' club.
