Really exceeded my expectations because I thought it was just going to be like any ordinary park with a lake. I was completely incorrect. The park was so well maintained big enough for families and friends to come together for picnics gatherings. There are playgrounds for the kids and a dock for those who love fishing. Plenty of trails to stroll around the lake or take a hike around the hills for scenic overlooks. An option for having brunch is available at a small cafe with lake view. It was the highlight of our visit. I'm so glad to came across this park because it made our weekend even more memorable. Totally recommend to visit this park when you are in Poway.

It's the perfect spot for family picnics, bike rides, or just spending a relaxing afternoon outside. There are also some great, yummy restaurants nearby, which makes it easy to turn your visit into a full day out. I do photography as a hobby, and this is one of my favorite locations to shoot--the scenery is beautiful, so much variety, and has so much character. Overall, it's a charming, relaxing place that I always enjoy coming back to.

There is a giant gazebo where a young musician was singing her heart out. There is a working old train, you can pay to take a ride around the park. There's a parking lot, bathrooms, picnic tables scattered throughout, a playground, a walking path, a basketball court, a baseball field... and if you look carefully you will find volleyball posts out there too. Bring your own net for that one! There's also barbecue stands around that are ready for your coals and grilling pleasure. If you look at a map on your phone while you're walking around there, you will notice that the walking path (large as it is) does not circumnavigate the park by a long shot. There's a significant bit of off-road trail hiking available here! It's lovely. Pro tip: it's super slippery and muddy in the hilly trails after it's been raining! Do not recommend. Would be lovely at all other times though. Dog-friendly, but keep your fur-babies on a 6-ft leash at all times. Doggy bags provided! Kid friendly. Family-friendly. RC airplane friendly (avoid the giant chain-link cage around the baseball field though, as I saw one guy figure out the hard way while I was there...)

It's very clean, open and has friendly families with young children. There's restrooms that are always kept clean and the park is well maintained. I was just there today and it's always active and Not too crowded. Perfect place to relax on a Sunday and let the kids release some energy before dinner and bedtime for the week ahead.

The split is about 75-25% in favor of neighborhood playing versus organized ball. The park is relatively new and it is very clean. The people who visit reflect the demographics of the neighborhood. The houses range in price from $800,000 to $2 million. The adults are mostly white collar. Many stay-at-home moms. All and all, very safe park. Good networking opportunities for small biz owners. :)
