Only slightly better than useless. Most prescriptions filled on this plan end up being a great deal cheaper by using an on line coupon from GoodRx. Earlier today, I called in to SIlverscript to check on the co-pay for a new prescription just called in for me. The rep was barely able to handle English. I had to repeat the name of the drug many times before she claimed she could find it. She then told me my co-pay would be $6.35 but the pharmacy called and told me that the Silverscript computer said the co-pay would be about $45. When I called Silverscripot to complain, they acknowledged that the rep had quoted for the wrong drug but they would not or could not do anything to make the matter right. Which reaffirms my decision to leave Silverscript at the end of this year. Useless! read more

I signed up last with with the Choice Plan, no deductible and a $22 premium. I'll be changing campanies in open enrollment because, in essence, this is a horrible plan. Everyone of my meds have gone up in price this year, from 25% up to 150%. When refills are due the price is always different. I was being charged a 90 day price for one med and only getting a 30 day supply. I called customer service and and was told the manufacturer increased the price. Interesting that the retail price on all but one of my meds remained the same.I received a 2 stage vaccine also.. Step one was administered last year. When I went for the booster this year it w as double the price. The last draw was, once again, the doubling in price of another med. Customer service said the manufacturer raised the price, untrue, the retail never had gone up. I would never recommend this compcany to antone. read more

I'm amazed how this company takes advantage of seniors! My mom pays about $70/month for the plan and yet her prescription for 2021 is $120 for a 90 day supply. The same prescription is offered at Costco and Publix (without insurance) at $85. What is the purpose of having an insurance plan if ultimately you have to pay more for the drugs?. Comparatively speaking - with the premium & drugs with Silver Script is $1320 and without insurance it's $340. A difference of about $1000 - for someone on a fixed income. Thank goodness, I'm here to look out for her. Shameful! I'm also in agreement with the customer service. Off shore call center and minimally helpful I'm in agreement with the other experiences that others have posted here. This company is one to avoid at all costs. Recently, I was contacted by my pharmacy concerning a prescription which would cost $149 using SilverScript. They then informed me that if I used GoodRX, that same prescription was $15. GoodRX is free and SilverScript is about $500/year. We just started as customers of SilverScript. We were previously under CVS Caremark and now that my husband is retired we have been shifted over to SilverScript. We have not had an issue - yet - with RX coverage. We have tried to call customer service about another issue and the phone reps are - terrible. If you have an issue: a) barely audible; b) barely understandable; c) ask you questions then pass you to someone else; d) we talked to 4 reps who asked us the same identity questions; f) finally we asked for supervisor and then sent us to the survey (meaning they were hanging up). They were unable to answer our question and gave up. We are not looking forward to a relationship with SilverScript and we are stuck with them. read more

If I could give them a 0 stars I would. When we signed up for the Aetna Silverscript Choice PDP through the Medicare site, it showed that they were the most cost effective and that all of our drugs were on their formulary. Since the first of the year they have sent us 3 letters stating that certain drugs are not on their formulary. 2 of the drugs have been approved, but one of them they will not cover as they say its not on their formulary. Their customer service is a joke. I have spent at least 40minutes for each of the 3 above instances trying to get things resolved. I am usually transferred at least 3 times. As soon as my year is up I will NEVER do business with any CVS company including Aetna, Silverscript and CVS. They have a reasonable monthly cost until you realize that they will not cover certain drugs. Be aware that they will be a real pain in the butt to deal with and it will cost you way more than you think it will, due to their difficulty to deal with and them deciding certain drugs are not on the formulary. read more

My husband is new to SilverScript, but we are already encountering problems. Initially we submitted a list of med he used and it came back as all covered. So... off to CVS to get a 30 day prescription for 2 different medications. Nope! They are class/tier 3 drugs and you can only get a 7 day fill. Now I had called their number prior to going to CVS and they said they weren't covered in their formulary. So I tell them I have the print out from the application and it stated they were covered. So they have to go through a procedure to do "an exception" and we won't know if the exception will be 1) approved and 2) whether is for 30 days, 60 days or a year. So we get the letter and it's approved for 1 year. But... that we still can only get a 7 day prescription and that the doctor will have to call in another prescription for the balance of the month! So I take the prescriptions back and go outside and call the Help Center and go through all this and they tell me to go back in and they will fill the 30 day prescription. So I go in and they it it in the system and then have to call the help desk for an override. Then I'm told it will be 2-3 days before they will fill it and that 1 prescription is $34. (60 tablets). Now I've looked at Good Rx and I can get it for $22.50 with their coupon. So I ask can they take the Goid RX Coupon and they say yes. So REALLY? Why pay a monthly premium when I can actually use the Good RX anytime and pay less than SilverScripts policy prices. It's worthless. And at no time during the application process did they EVER Mention all the hassles of the hoops you'd have to jump through just to get a prescription medication that my husband has been taking for 4-5 years!!!! I'm not familiar with any of americrap medicare bullshit and their million plans but i'm trying to get some cheap medication approved for a family member who recently switched to this Silvershit plan. This country already feels like the abnormal parallel universe. Silvershit customer service feels like their own crazy world in another crazy dimension. Got transferred to different departments and put on hold 5 times. Few speak fluently, keep asking same questions over and over again. Some reps had very bad connection, sounded muffled. Gabapentin is covered by Silverscript Part D up to an 800mg daily dose, but if your script order uses 100mg capsules the script will be rejected because will use 8 capsules per day. The way Silverscript is set up it will reject the script because it asks for too many capsules per day instead noticing that the does is within the plan authorized daily dose. In my case I'm trying to take 400mg/day, using 100mg spread out through the day. I've spent hours over four months trying to straighten this out with Silverscript and its been fruitless so far. Silverscript/CVS and Aetna are making money off of NOT supplying medicines supposedly authorized in their Part D PDP plan. read more

I have a problem with a company stopping coverage of my COPD medication during the midst of a global pandemic of a respiratory virus. "Just get you to change the medication." They say. I'm 76 years old and the govenor of my state says anyone over 65 shouldn't leave the house. My doctor's office isn't seeing people. You spend hours on the phone and no one will give an exception until the crisis is over. I can't afford to just pay for this medication myself, I'm not working due to COVID19. SilverScript started taking money out of my husbands check. We never authorized this to happen. As a result, SilverScript has now owed us $91.20 since March 2018. We finally received a check for that amount dated 1/17/2019, unfortunately we received the check on the 15th of December 2019, way past it's 180 day expiration date. We requested a replacement check. We were told it will be processed after 20 days. We called back and were told by 3 people that they are working on it and it is really 20 "business days" not 20 days as we were originally told. Called in again after the 20 B/Ds. No record of us asking for the replacement check, but records of us calling in. Requested another check, told it would be expedited. Found out it's another 20 B/Ds, there is no such thing as expedited service. That check was sent to address we have not had in years. We are on our 4th check, 3rd replacement check and it is way overdue and no one is answering calls because of the corona mess. Great job SilverScript. I won't even delve into how SilverScript keeps changing my husband's perspiration dosage without contacting him. They "contact your Dr.", which means anyone within the building or organization and try hard to get anyone to say yes, and it's done. Too long to get into here. read more

I've had silver script for 3 years and "WAS" very pleased, however this year is a different story. The Customer Service is next to NONEXISTENT!!! I kept being put on hold so the rep could "check on an answer" as to why my co-pay was double of what the catalog said. After 20 minutes I asked to speak with a supervisor. After an additional 15 minutes of being told "just a minute" I asked to speak with someone in the US. After being put on hold and waiting again I got frustrated and hung up!!! He tried to tell me that a tier 3 - 30 day refill is $47 co-pay but a 41 day refill (which is the only way the pharmacy can do it ) is $94 (double co-pay) that doesn't make sense!!! This same prescription last year was about a $25 co-pay for the 41 day refill. read more

Called three times about the same situation which was supposedly fixed..mail order prescriptions kept getting cancelled. Although agents were polite there was no positive results from the 3 interactions. Finally asked for a manager but when I asked for her full name she said it was against policy to give last names!!!! The manager took the same info I had given 2x before and said all should be fixed....we shall see! I have no confidence in them at all! The good news is I'm not losing my mind which I thought was happening when I started dealing with silverscipt about a year ago. I looked them up to see if others were having similar issues. I have not read a positive review on any sIte. it didn't seem possible that one person could have so many problems each time an order was placed and it takes multiple contacts with customer service to get anything resolved or clarified. They give you generic automated messages until one of them comes close to answering your inquiry. I would not recommend anyone to use this company if they have a choice. If I could give a negative star review I would. I had been with silverscript for at least 10 yrs. now and was never too thrilled with them but stayed with them regardless. I had an occasion to call them ( now Aetna) and talked to the rudest person ever (!). His English was extremely poor and he was very argumentative and talked over me entirely. They have outright declined two of my meds and I just received a letter from them and they are starting to play games with me about another one of my meds (one I will probably take the rest of my life). This company is crooked. Bait and switch. The prices they listed on Medicare.gov went way up in January of 2019, once I was locked in. My drug price more than doubled. In addition, customer service is extremely bad. I am changing my plan for 2020. You can tell if agents or other reviews on the web are reliable by how they rate Silver Scrip. If they give a good rating, then they are rigged. I have heard other Plan D companies have similar bad service and price hikes. Your defense against this kind of fraud is to get a plan with the lowest monthly fee... and then NOT USE IT! Use GoodRx or some other discount plan on the web. Go to several pharmacies and ask them to run your prescription on one of these discount sites. I found my prescription cost far less this way, compared to my co-pay through Silver Script. SilverScript MedicarePart D Bait and Switch The time period for Medicare Part D enrollees to change from one insurance company to another is from October 15 to December 7. During that period of time an enrollee can go onto the Medicare site, enter the drugs and dosage that they are currently taking and compare insurance plans in terms of costs (premiums/copays/deductibles). The enrollee can also contact the insurance company to determine what copay tier the drug that they are taking falls into. In addition, the enrollee can determine if the pharmacy that is in their area is in the insurance companies network of "preferred pharmacies". Seems reasonable, so what's the problem? The problem is bait and switch. During the enrollment period SilverScript (owned by CVS) publishes a formulary which is available in hard copy and online for potential enrollees to use in deciding whether or not to enroll with SilverScript. The published formulary cannot and should not be relied upon to estimate drug costs because SilverScript states in the first paragraph of the formulary: "We may remove drugs from the formulary, add Prior Authorization, Quantity Limits and/or Step Therapy restrictions on a drug, and/or move a drug to a higher cost-sharing tier during the plan year." So during the enrollment period all of the drugs you are taking could be in Tier 1 or Tier 2 with co-pays of $7.00 and $12 respectively, for a 30 day supply (for Massachusetts residents - co-pays vary by state). After you've enrolled, in the belief that you made a good financial decision, and after the enrollment period (Oct. 15 to Dec. 7) is over, that's when Silver Script makes the announcement that they are moving your drugs to a higher tier. Too bad, because now you are stuck with SilverScript for an entire year until the next open enrollment period. Classic example of bait and switch. read more

I started on this plan late last year and regret it. My doc prescribed a very common generic drug. They held up filling it then said it was not covered in their formulary, so would only provide a 30-day supply. Every time I call them, I am put on hold for ridiculous wait times. Then they ask for info, put me on hold again, and drop the call. As I write this I am on hold again. Recently I read about another website that allows comparison of local pharmacy costs when paying cash. I entered my regular prescriptions and found that my out of pocket costs would be LESS paying cash at Costco with no insurance, than my co-pays at Silver Script. Additional savings would come from not having to pay the monthly premiums, on top of the cheaper cash-pay drugs! I am still on hold after being transferred. Long time subscriber here, when I first started using Silverscript/Caremark I was very put off by their indifferent and often surly customer reps who I guessed were somewhere in the deep South based on their accents. Just when I was about to change carriers they must have moved their location to a group that was very professional and easy to understand, that worked quite well for several years. Most recently I had to call with a really simple question and was connected to an agent who was obviously off-shore and barely spoke English, when I asked to be connected to someone in the states I was transferred to another heavily accented person that I at least could pretty much understand, however, she seemed to want to give me a multiple choice answer to a simple question about a mailing address. The short answer is next open enrollment period will mean a step away from Aetna and Silverscript/Caremark. read more

FRAUD ALERT!!! I use Silverscript for my Medicare Part D prescription insurance, and they recently sent me a bottle of prescription medicine for my diabetes that I did not order. My doctor had sent in the prescription (at my request) so I could try their mail-order pharmacy. BUT - I had made it very clear to Silverscript when I first signed up for their coverage that I did not want any prescriptions filled without my specific authorization, and I did not want to be billed for anything - I would pay with a card at the time the order was placed. When I received the drugs, I called Silverscript to inquire into this unordered shipment, and eventually they admitted they should not have sent it, and said they would send a prepaid label so I could return it. In the meantime, I wanted to fill the same prescription at my local pharmacy, but found I could not because Silverscript had already filled the prescription. I called Silverscript (again) and was told they would not authorize insurance coverage for the drug because I had already received it from them. I explained that I had not ordered it from them, that I was returning the drugs they sent, and that I needed my medication, but they refused to budge. And here's the part of the conversation that told me what they were up to: "Why don't you just keep the medication we sent you? It's cheaper, and you already have it," said the Silverscript supervisor. They sent me this medication knowing that I would not be able to get my medication elsewhere until after they had processed the return, which could take a minimum of two weeks, and probably much longer. They knew this was necessary medication, and that by refusing to pay for it from another pharmacy, they could force me to use their pharmacy. If they did this to me, after I made such a point of telling them not send me unordered drugs or drugs I had not paid for in advance, just imagine what they are doing to everyone else. I have filed complaints with Medicare, and I am contacting my state's attorney's office this week. read more

I have had to call multiple times with coverage issues where SilverScript believed I had other coverage from my former employer that ended almost a year ago. SilverScript customer service employees have not resolved the issue after three calls and will not transfer me to supervisors or quality when I have requested higher levels of service. Hold times every time I have called have been very long because the representative has to check with others to do anything. Do not recommend this supplier at all and I'll be contacting my broker to switch to another provider today! read more

The first person I spoke with was unintelligible, and enrolled my wife, but failed to enroll me (after 45 minutes on the phone). Then, they got the address wrong.
