Silver Script Choice Review I have had this plan for 2 years. ALL the agents are nice, informative, personable, caring and helpful. I have an easy going positive attitude and it is always returned in kind. Of course, no one knows every medication there is so their knowledge is basic for the most part. Yet, I have studied my plan rules and guidelines and they patiently listen when I know more than they do. Everyone needs to research their own medications and the pronunciation. If I correct them they listen. Elizabeth O. helped me to file a tier adjustment for 3 medications and they were approved within 2 days. I now understand that this has to be done annually. It was my fault that I did not make note of the previous expiration of the tier adjustment. She spent over an hour reviewing ALL of my medications. She made casual chit chat when she was able. This made me feel welcomed and cared about. (I did this on a Sunday so the coverage determination dept. wasn"t open and she had more time to assist me.) I received an automated call on Monday and Tuesday to inform me that the approval had come through. Somehow I missed the call and the call return code had expired by the time I called on Wednesday. I had to call the main number, bummer. But I did not have to go through the long initial call that normally happens. Perhaps, they can extend the time for a return call. Also, I got the information for mail order which saves me about $80 monthly. I take 12 medication but most have been dropped to tier 1 and 2. I had Humana for 3 yrs and it ate up my budget. I paid $50 per visit for my 1:1 therapist. Now I pay $19. My DBT class was $50 also. Now I pay $4. Humana sticks it to you for appointments and medications. I can afford to pay my own 20% since I am saving over $300 in premiums, drugs copays and medical visits. The only positive about Humana was they paid for a Y membership but I had to drive over 40 miles, in a 17 yr old V6. GO SILVERSCRIPT! read more

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I have been a member since Jan 2018 and have had continuous problems with these "people". They will not fill my mailorders without dragging it out till I run out of the meds almost. They say its my doctor not properly sending his prescription requests in correctly. They are Liars. My Doctor has proven definitively that he has. No one is this incompetent unless on purpose. I hate Silverscript. As soon as we can change to another plan, we will. They send tons and tons of paper. You cannot get a person on the phone that knows anything. I called twice, for the same question, and got two completely different answers. They pay very little on my Rx. I can go to Costco and get the same Rx without insurance for LESS. What a rip off. Silverscript/Caremark has a very confusing and annoying web site that will never allow "save" user-password (while I save others on my same computer.) MANY rules you didn't realize when signing up. In a year+ twice their people were WRONG which was a real hassle. It is a waste of $20 a month. But Anthem was a waste of $100 a month so I guess I'm way ahead. What next? I only take Ambien (sleep and they will only allow you to get 90 pills a YEAR -- so how do you go to sleep the other 9 months?) and Amlodipine (b/p) and neither seem to be working well with this coverage. I have been on Medicare for 5 years and am healthy but this Part D business just seems like an annoying rip off to benefit drug companies and keep them in control. read more

SilverScript is the worst. In trying to claim a refund for overpayment, I was told very different things by each rep on the phone, as if each of them just made something up to avoid having to do any work. After I mailed in the information they said was required, to the address they read to me on the phone, I was told that wasn't the correct address and they never received it. After nearly four months of writing letters and follow-up phone calls with reps (and their supervisors) who were either ignorant or lazy, I was told to RE-SEND the documents I had sent two months ago. I would NEVER recommend this company and find it appalling that this company is getting away with treating customers so badly. read more

Like others, my SilverScript premium went up 29% in less than 6 months and we cannot change until October! For the record, I have probably filled one, maybe two, prescriptions since I enrolled in August so I am not a big user. I called the fellow who sold me the policy and he basically said I couldn't do anything. I told him we ALL had to do something when companies raise premiums in such a precipitous manner. 29%! Who gets away with that? I asked him to find out how we register a complaint, and he says he will get on it. In the meantime, I went to Yelp and found your comments. I called the number cited by Vivian. However, be ready to wait. And if you answer the question that you already have a Part D, the computer tells you to call that company. So I said "no" so I could speak with someone at Medicare. When I finally got through to a human on the Medicare number (800-633-4227), the woman said I had to call Silver Script. I said I wanted to register a complaint about SilverScript to Medicare. Apparently this is an unusual move, so that resulted in more wait time while the young woman checked with her supervisor, who also did not know how to file a complaint. To make a long story endless...the young woman did submit a formal complaint to Medicare about SilverScript raising their rates in such a precipitous manner. read more

Call numerous times to get prior authorization of Rx not on formulary....Leave message and no return call...Then I am told I have to appeal the decision.... Why appeal if they won't even say no to prior auth or get me and the Dr the paperwork for PA. One supervisor says one thing and the next one says the opposite....New plan next year for sure. read more

I was hoping to find a minus star. Worst service I've had to deal with since Comcast. I have been on the phone for 25 minutes trying to get an address for Silver Script to mail a letter I received from Pfizer indicating that I am now on the Pfizer RxPathways program. I was placed on hold about 7 times while "Terry" tried to find an address. I finally hung up and I will mail this letter to the Claims Dept. with an explanation. read more

Seniors must have a drug plan/coverage in place so this can be a lower cost way to comply. I have had SS for 3 years and I like the low price. I seldom use it because simple sleuthing can save on almost all my meds. Today my wife's advantage plan provided glaucoma drops for free (Timoptic generic). I checked for coupon and drug deals and found I could buy this for $4-6 at a bunch of local places. Price for this through Silver Script - $17.00!! Very infrequently this plan has proved to be good for me. I always check Good RX and a few other places and have the filling pharmacy use the lowest price. Fortunately I can navigate the internet without difficulty and search for the best prices. I imagine it is tedious for some folks to do so. I actually think a drug plan should make life easier for Seniors. This one does not and I am guessing no plan has its members' best interest at heart. read more

worst supplement ever they have messed up my scripts so many times its pathetic last time they botched it up sent me the wrong dosage for asthma inhalers so had to fill it at a local pharmacy with right dosage and since they sent me the wrong dosage even thought they were in sealed boxes wouldn't let me send them back and wanted me to pay for them too .So being on medicair fixed income have to buy asthma inhalers twice because somebody screwed up and it wasn't me and they were sealed still but wont take them back cause of their policies or some crap about dr sent in wrong dosage either way its not my fault but I have to pay twice cause they wont take back unopened boxes of inhalers read more

They raised my premium by 30% this year, with no prior notification, so I could not look into other plans. When I called to complain, and finally got to speak with a supervisor, she told me that Medicare sets the rates and sends out the notification.( not true!). I decided to call Medicare and file a complaint. They were very helpful and did this over the phone. They said there had been no formal complaints filed against Silvercsript. Regret I did not check the review before getting into this company. Awful ! Good customer service talking, but never get job done.

I have had Silver Script for a few years and initially I felt that this was an OK company. They did not pay anything toward my Lisinopril or most of my drugs, but they kept telling me the cost was lower because I had coverage for drugs when I asked them. When I had cataract surgery they paid for my first eye drugs, but when I had to have my second eye done 8 weeks later they said I was in a "donut hole" and my drugs cost me much more out of pocket. I did not ever understand that as I don't use my Drug plan that much. So each October I go to the formulary to see what they will pay "next year." What I found out in January was that they don't have their formulary online for "next year" until "next year" so the one I was checking gave false data. Now I have to pay for all my drugs except those that cost ME over $138 and then only what is over the $138. So this plan is worthless for me. They switched my Tier 3 to a "Tier 5" and my pharmacy has never heard of a "Tier 5" for that drug. I can't do anything this year, but come October 15 I will be switching. read more

Would not recommend these people to my worst enemy. Wish I could give them a -5 rating. You sign up and have a $22 premium, then they hit you with a "Late Enrollment Penalty". Premium goes from $22 to $70 plus a "one time payment" of $140. By then you can't get out until open enrollment unless you meet certain requirements, which thank God we met. My mom was enrolled for 2 months and never was able to use the services but still had to pay late enrollment. This place needs to be shut down, worse than any scam against older people than any other I've seen. Please stay away and put these scammers out of business!!!!! read more

I called SilverScript in order to ask them to stop sending letters or any other correspondence containing patients' confidential information like name, date of birth, and medication prescribed to them to my home address where those letters can be accessed by other individuals who have access to my home mailbox. Since SilverScript works with Medicare to provide Medicare Part D coverage, they most likely received my home address from Medicare. However, they also knew the address of my place of employment, which is the hospital where the patients covered by the SilverScript prescription drug plan reside, and they have sent letters to the hospital before pertaining to some of my patients. So I have no idea why they decided to send letters to my home address knowing that it is my home address and risking potential HIPAA violations in the process. When I called SilverScript at their phone number (1-866-235-5660) to request that they stop sending letters containing confidential information of patients to my home address, I ran into a series of customer service representatives none of whom were helpful and instead they proceeded to waste one and a half hours of my time on the phone before the last customer service representative just hung up the phone on me. The first customer service representative I spoke said her name is Tanish or Talisha and stated she would transfer me to prescriber or provider services. After waiting on the phone for about 15 minutes, a representative named Edward identified himself as a CVS/caremark employee and after some confusion regarding why I was transferred to him, he belatedly acknowledged that he worked with SilverScript and offered to transfer me to prescriber or provider services. I told him that I had spent 20 minutes on the phone much of it wasted being transferred to the wrong person or department and would rather that he just gave me the direct phone number for prescriber or provider services or an email address so that I wouldn't waste anymore time on the phone. He refused to provide either the direct phone number for prescriber or provider services or an email address I could contact to fulfill my simple request that they not send correspondence containing confidential patient information to my home address. Instead, without asking for or getting my permission and without giving me a chance to object, he said he would transfer me to a managerand then put me on hold. He had previously promised to stay on the line if he transferred me to another department or phone number. However, he did not fulfill his promise as he was not on the phone and did not check in with me as I was waiting on the phone after he put me on hold to supposedly transfer me to a different department or phone number, and after waiting for 10-15 minutes, I hang up the phone and called the SilverScript number I called before again. After some delay, a representative possibly named Tahana picked up the phone, said she could wait on the phone while waiting for me to be transferred to prescriber or provider services, and that she expected the wait to be 12 minutes to get a representative from prescriber or provider services to answer the phone. Instead, I waited for another 40-50 minutes before I was transferred not to provider or prescriber services but to a customer complaint representative named Lilly even though I had not requested such a representative and thought I was waiting for a representative prescriber or provider services to answer the phone that whole time. Lilly was the worst of the succession of incompetent, rude, unaccountable, and unhelpful representatives I spoke to and instead of making even a minimal attempt to be helpful, she was argumentative, would talk over me, and would make snide and sarcastic comments. She was not the least bit helpful. After telling her I had been on the phone for about an hour and a half and couldn't stomach spending any more time on the phone, she callously and absurdly to look for another number where I could be helped and that she did not know how to help me and did not know why I was transferred to her. I suggested to her that instead she could communicate with the appropriate individuals in her company (SilverScript) regarding my simple request my simple request that they not send correspondence containing confidential patient information to my home address, and she or others in her company could subsequently contact me at either my cell phone number or email address once my request had been processed or fulfilled or if they had any questions regarding my request. She declined to take down my contact information when I offered to provide my cell phone number and email address. Again, without asking for or getting my permission and without giving me a chance to object, she said she would transfer me to a manager and then put me on hold. After a few minutes on hold, she simply hang up the phone on me. So all this effort was for naught. read more

Wrote this letter to silverscript on 8 april 2015 . . .I am writing this letter, which I plan to publish and post wherever I can, not as disgruntled client, but as a massively disappointed subscriber. It is a sad commentary on today that retirees, like myself, have to deal with dispassionate, greedy, inconsiderate and incompetent companies such as yours. No matter how you portray or try to spin this issue or its resolution your customer service here is abominable. It is now the beginning of the third week since I requested a very simple letter from you. Anybody could understand a delay if this were a letter which had legal requirements or would have legal ramifications if issued, or required an authorization from a person and/or department within your company but this was a simple letter verifying payments already collected by you for a subscription offered by your company. From my understanding during my initial call to you, there is actually a form letter that already exists within your corporate environment that covers my request (if not, then there should be). I find it extremely difficult to believe I am the only person who requires such a letter. Just as an explanation, in order to receive compensation for my medical expenses (a retirement benefit) I must submit proof of my expenditures each quarter. As for other service providers . . . Social Security allows you to print out a pertinent letter instantly, after I requested it my supplemental insurer (AARP/United Healthcare) provided the letter in under 5 days. You (SilverScript) on the other hand required two additional telephone calls that only provided the usual corporate response "we are working on it" and produced no letter. It has become very obvious to me that you are not interested in good quality service for your subscribers. Of course the only recourse for me is to; 1) Submit my costs sans your share. 2) Wait for the open enrollment period and replace you with another provider. But in the meantime, the general public should be aware of your lack of sensitivity and consideration. Shame on you. read more

I have been a SilverScript policy holder for three years and recently the following happened... SilverScript told the Pharmacy the price to charge me for my RX was $81.97 as a policy holder. This caused me to ask some questions. 1) I asked of the pharmacy...How much would the RX cost if I did not go through SilverScript but used my big box store card? Answer $46.70. Question 2) asked of SilverScript WHY? Answer That is the price we negotiated with the drug maker. Question 3) asked of SilverScript How could that be? Answer Well SilverScript is well rated and most of the time our prices are good. Further your deductable was not met therefore the full price was charged. Question 4 Asked of SilverScript What would the charge have been if my deductable had been met. Answer from SilverScript $142.00. My husband and I signed up for Silverscript medicare part d last October..I have had so many problems with this company and only now March 15 am getting it resolved.. It was never resolved by Silverscript..it was sent to a government agency that reviews complaints. Before it was sent for review..I talked with 5 different supervisors and they all assured me it was straightened out and we wouldn't be charged the penalty.. Not one supervisor did a thing.. This is the worse company I have ever ever dealt with.. Shame on Medicare for even allowing them to be able to be on the list we can use for prescription coverage. It's not always just about the plans or the coverage. You have to be able to reach them when you need to. When my husband called Customer Service to change the expiration date of his automatic billing credit card, he waited a total of 2.5 hours to complete the task! He called the number for Customer Service on the back of his card, first waiting for a half hour, then had to hang up. He tried again later and had to wait for an hour to get a person. The person then had to switch him over to a billing person which took another hour of waiting on the phone before getting the new person. So he was on the phone for two hours this time, all because the website has no option for addressing billing issues online. If they are this bad in doing something as simple as changing credit card info, what are they like in needing to respond to a doctor's office calling to check on coverage or whatever? Doctor's office people can't wait two hours on the phone. With the technology at our fingertips today, SilverScripts needs to think of better ways for Patients to communicate with Customer Service rather than just by phone. read more

This company may have been contracted by the Federal Government to handle Medicare Part D Prescriptions, but I can get lower prices on medication by going to Walmart, Rite-Aid, and independent pharmacies and price shopping, Walmart offers some generic medication for a 3 month prescription for $10. Buying that same medication through Silver Script is a $15 co pay. Silver Script started sending me bills for $32 a month starting in January 2014, even though I never signed up for their service and never bought medication through them.They wanted me to agree to have their monthly fee that I never agreed too taken out of my Social Security payment. I called their Customer Service and spoke to a Rep who apparently just got out of high school. No experience dealing with people. He told me "You HAVE to bill that bill". I told him I never used it and am not paying it. I sent a letter of complaint to their home office and they said they would "investigate" my complaint and make a decision. Right. Google Silver Script Complaints. This company has overcharged Medicare people and when they were called about being over charged, the CS rep told them that it would take 3 months to get money back from Social Security. There are so many complaints about this outfit that they have been suspended by Medicare. Clearly a 3rd rate insurance company. Medicare made a mistake contracting these people. I can buy my meds cheaper myself so Medicare people are paying for those rude CS reps they employ. Next stop is my Congressman's office. read more

In response I got over 200 pages in three mailings of stuff I already had, and a letter that said, "Based upon our review, your grievance was due to your dissatisfaction with the level of coverage you have..." I received a mailer for this company saying that "my 65th birthday will be here soon, and I will be eligible for medicaid". The problem is, I am 28, not 64. I called the number on the mailer to be taken off the list, and I was on hold for 8 minutes, never talking to a human. I called the number on the website, and spoke to a rude woman who promptly hung up on me because I wasn't a member. I then called the number on the flyer again, and spoke to a man who said "Its just junk mail, there is nothing I can do." He gave me a different number, and that number happened to be for hearing impaired members. Do not enroll in silverscript! I have had trouble with Silverscript from day one. Although I met my deductible they claimed they had no record of my drug purchases before June 1. I told them I bought from CVS (their sister company) and to check with the pharmacy for my records. They said they could not do that. My Mother used Silver Script for her Medicare Part D prescriptions. She died 11-30-16. She had pre-paid her subscription for December, 2016. I have been trying to get a refund for the past 9 months. SilverScript Medicare part D are SCOUNDRELS! I inadvertently signed up because their mailers are made to look official or legal. My mistake! But when I went to buy my pills at Kaiser, they wanted $359, because they said that was SILVERSCRIPT's doing. I subsequently chose Kaiser and there is a plan that would keep my meds to a very low price (owing to low income). I chose that, but it will take some time for the paperwork. Meanwhile I phoned SS, and asked them to UN-Enroll me. They wanted info I didn't yet have, and I threw there info away. There is no button for Un-enroll. I said "can't you cross reference with all the info I can provide that only I would know?". They said no!. They only want money, to fund their corporate jets on their 100 Million dollar salaries. As a CVS shareholder (owner of Silverscripts) I'm embarrassed with the continual hassle I have upon every prescription refill. True to insurance arrogance and desire not to "fulfill claims" Siverscripts constantly seeks to deny medications prescribed by my doctor substituting their preferred formularies; and, refuses to adjust prescription(s) ordered by my doctor. Apparently Silverscripts knows what is better for me more than my physician. They are a pain to deal with and I will seek an alternative for my Medicare Part D (that I pay substantially for monthly). Sadly, avoid this provider if you can. read more

Miserable service. Trade-off is cheaper prescriptions. They misread one prescription, then after doctor correction failed to mail out, then after additional follow-up call and promise of delivery-nothing. Then third contact through manager, so now 30 days later finally getting meds. I subscribed to this plan in and got my card in May 2013, they each month wrote me a letter saying first my address didn't match my Soc Sec account Drove 28 miles to the Soc Sec office and they had my address I called SilverScript they said its fixed, 2 month same thing with a cancellation notice again 3rd month Same thing again.4th month they me a 30 day cancellation notice again 5th month they were correcting it it would take a few days. I got a 5 day cancellation notice 3 days of which were a holiday. I called them again not to worry they would extend it until they could fix it. the cancelled me on Sept.1. I filled a complaint with Medicare. they filed a complaint with The main office of Silver Script and a Person form Silver Script called me to say the government had filed a complaint and she would get it straight and call me back. So now am Paying for all my meds still paying for part D and getting ready to file a law suit as they said it will take 3 months to stop the payments from Soc Sec and that I will need to contact Medicare for a refund not silver script. My wife heard from a friend that SilverScript was a decent Medicare Part D and drug service. But I have had the most frustrating and infuriating experience in the one month I have been with them. First, I made an initial online order for my first prescription with them. No problems -- the site took the order, asked for the doctor contact info, charged me for the cost not covered by Medicare, and estimated a postal delivery date. After two weeks, I get a text message that a) the doctor had not confirmed the RX and b) my RX had been cancelled. Confused, I called up SilverScript/Caremark since I know that the doctor had confirmed the RX. After 20 minutes on hold, I learn that a) SilverScript will NOT FILL an order where the drug is NOT covered by Medicare and b) RX will not be filled even though I filled out a credit card authorization. The supervisor said somewhere in the fine print is an explanation of all of this. Silly me, I didn't catch it. Moral, don't sign up for this program if you have prescription drugs that are not (or may not) be covered by Medicare. read more

BEWARE !!! This company told me that Medicare has elected them to be my PDP. I checked with Medicare and they do not recommend any insurance company. So, this outfit notified Medicare that they are now my official PCP without my authorization. My insurance agent is now trying to change me back to my PCP of choice. SO .... BEWARE ... read more

Would give it minus stars if I could. I have reported them to Medicare Part D fraud as they post on their website a price of $8.39 for Zolpidem 5 mg. which is a generic drug and I paid that amount for the first several months and then they decided to charge me $46.00. Their formulary page says they don't change their price in the plan year. And in addition they now post for 2018 a price of $7.27. Senior citizens use the tools that Medicare.gov and Silverscripts website to make a very important and expensive decision every year and we should be getting accurate information. Medicare.gov and Silverscipt online to find plans for 2018 also has the lower prices but that is not what you are going to pay. I have literally spent days on the phone and get all kinds of answers. I had 2 of the reps look up the price and say "oh yeah I see $8.39 too and then they say, well the price must have gone up!! Another said well we negotiate our prices with the drug company and if our price goes up, we pass that on to you. Well I would imagine you would negotiate a price on a yearly basis, not monthly. Do yourself a big favor and don't go with this company, you cannot trust them. read more

TERRIBLE experience. They went up on my husband's co-pay from $66 per month to $838.48 per month. When I called them they couldn't give me a reason as to why they went up on he co-pay. They just told me to get assistance. Four months later they went from $838.48 monthly to $6918.56 (yes I typed that correctly) without notifying us. Three months supply of medication had been shipped and used before they notified us of the change. They are now trying to collect $16,000 from us. They have turned us over to a collection agency!!!!! I have been beyond harassed by them. read more
