This company has gotten nothing right since I enrolled in December, 2016. I have sent them letters and made repeated phone calls. I used Silver Script for my Part D Prescription Drug coverage last year and was satisfied, so I enrolled again for 2019. Before enrolling, I phoned customer service to ensure that a drug I take - Omega 3 Ethyl Esters - would be covered. It was not in the 2019 formulary but that has happened before when it was covered,so I phoned customer service and was told that Omega 3 Ethyl Esters would be covered. I paid my premium in full for the 2019 year in advance and learned that the drug is not covered. This is the first time in 10 years that drug has not been covered by whatever company I used for Part D. My physician's office explained why my doctor prescribed it and Silver Scripts denied it anyway.The upshot is - I am stuck with this piece of shit company. The customer service people for all the drug companies are not well informed about a number of things. I think it's time old people organized. We cannot count on AARP. read more

The best advice I can give: stay away -- FAR, FAR AWAY. It's been three weeks and I could not get them to communicate with my doctor (mail order service). I spent over 4 hours (95% of which was on Hold waiting). One rep said she would call my doctor and call me back; another rep said, they are not allowed to call my doctor or call me back. One of the worst disgusting experiences of my life. Medicare should NOT allow them to be part of their program. I wish I could give them negative stars. read more

Silverscript refused to cover medication for a life-threatening condition, even after the clinic spend 7 hours on the phone, working their way up through the ranks of insurance drones (and were cut off 4 times), and even after my doctor personally explained my condition to the Director, as well as the fact that said condition had sent me to the ER via ambulance 3 times within a 30 day period, and why this was the only medication which could alleviate the intermittent heart arrhythmia which could cause heart attack or stroke. I've been unable to lay down flat or turn on my side for 2.5 months, so my condition is extremely serious, and Silverscript had already agreed to cover the medication for one month, but then refused to authorize a refill even when my doctor personally vouched for the effectiveness of the treatment. Yet they will authorize this medication for someone with shingles! In addition, while the request for authorization was marked "Urgent" by my doctor, instead of contacting the pharmacy within the 72 hours required by law, Silverscript sent a rejection letter via USPS, forcing me to suffer without the medication for an additional week before I even knew I was being rejected. Also, Silverscript has horrible service, with a recorded phone answering service which doesn't offer relevant choices (it kept demanding my mail order prescription number even though I don't use mail order prescriptions), and after rejecting me, I was harassed by robocalls from Silverscript which demanded personal information I didn't feel comfortable giving over the phone, then refused to accept my address even though I've lived here for over 5 years! When I finally managed to reach a human representative, she told me their phone service routinely refused to accept client information. Also, their record keeping is atrocious, and recently they attempted to discontinue my coverage because they claimed I had moved out of the area! I never got a card, and had to request a replacement card twice before I finally got one. Ironically, that card arrived one day prior to them rejecting the medication I so desperately needed, and now I've switched to a different prescription plan so I won't even need it. I told my friends I should have a button that says "I survived the Silverscript Medicare Nightmare." If you value your life, stay away from Silverscript! read more

It's sad for me to say but I have really messed up switching to Silverscript/Caremark Part D Medicare drug coverage. It's now January of a brand new year and my first year/month with them. I enrolled, listed my drugs prescribed by my doctor and now that I need to refill some of them, I'm having problems! After reading about others on here having similar problems, I know now that my decision to sign up with Silverscript will not be a good one. Some of you have listed their stall tactics and my very first experience was a stall tactic. I provided the name of my doctor, his clinic address and phone number for them to obtain the needed prescription from him for me. I heard nothing for a week and inquired about the status of my mail order. With no notice at all, they posted a cancellation notice for my medicine on their website and gave the reason as my doctor would not respond to them. I don't think I'm going to fight with them like some of you have done. Most of my drugs are generic and I can buy them for cash at Walmart under their $10 for 90 day program. I can kiss away the $30 monthly payment/$360 for a year. I really don't know where I went wrong because I did my research and thought it would be a good move from Humana to Silverscript. How wrong I was! Humana kept raising their prices every year and at least, they paid out something. I tried to order my albuterol inhaler and like many of you was told I could only have it for 30 days at a time. That's the whole purpose of ordering online is to get the 90 day supply with a discount. I have to tell anyone reading this story, I don't usually get taken but I sure as heck did with Silverscript. Come October 15, 2019, I'll be first in line to sign back up with Humana and drop Silverscript. What Silverscript is doing is nothing short of criminal! read more

Silverscript is the worst. They take medications off of their formulary for no explainable reason other than profit. Once again they have removed medications from their formulary and are refusing to cover the cost, even after a written appeal from the Physicians Office. We followed their procedure to continue the medication and they have denied it. They are taking sleep medications off of their formulary without informing people. It's the beginning of the manic season when the days are getting longer and people who need sleep meds are at risk. I think they sit in their leather chairs in their skyscraper executive offices and laugh at the problems and strife they cause their Medicare Part D customers. CVS Caremark causes people so much hardship. They are greedy and evil. read more

The sales pitch before enrolling gave information that is totally different from what you have to deal with upon signing up. Very difficult to get on their website, impossible to get a call back as they are not allowed to make outside call, When I said I wanted to file a grievance, I was told the computer was down until late that night. First two common prescriptions that I tried to fill required "prior approval" and when I went thru that procedure I was turned down because the medicine was not appropriate for my diagnosis. My Physician is an expert in his field (only five in the whole state of Texas). I wonder what kind of rookie P. A. makes decisions for SilverScript? ( A CVS Company was my previous provider and Silverscript is a sister Company. Had no problem with them. They were topnotch and less expensive. Silver Script may seem like a good deal for Part D Medicare, but do not sign up with this plan!!!!!! If a medication is not your particular plan's formulary, Silver Script will do everything possible to create roadblocks, delays and problems so you will not get that medication, even though a process exists for you to receive that medication. if you call Silver Script to resolve your problem, you will encounter purposeful and/or incomplete misinformation and very, very long wait times. You are switched from one customer representative to another who give robotic replies to your questions and have to be reading from a script. Apologies abound in an attempt to soothe you and make you feel like your business is valued, but a resolution to your issue is near impossible. Silver Script is about profits for Silver Script, NOT health care. Steer clear of Silver Script!!!!!!! read more

There are two issues here with SilverScript. There coverage is good and the price is right for those of us that don't use a large amounts of prescriptions. They are always a month behind in the billing information which I have learned to live with. The problem arose when we moved from Texas to Washington. We made an address change and were not told we have to unenroll and reenroll in the plan for Washington. Several weeks later we received a letter telling us this. We reenrolled on the 30th of October. Three days later we were called and told we had an address problem. We had to talk with three different people and had to reenroll again because the person handling our enrollment hadn't done it correctly. Therefore due to there error we had to spend over an hour on the phone going through the whole process again. There rates are great but we are going to look for something better for 2018 instead of staying with these people. read more

Don't sign up for Silverscript if you ever plan to take a vacation that will require you to need, in advance, more than 30 days of medication per year. We are planning a 4 month trip out of the country, and when I requested what they refer to as a "vacation over-ride" for 90 days worth of medication, we were rejected. Note: We were not requesting additional medication...we were simply requesting it early. If we had not been vacationing out of country, we would have requested this medication per our standard requirement schedule. Since they would provide us with only 30 days of medication, we had to purchase the required medication "out-of-pocket". Needless to say, they are still gladly accepting our monthly premium for these 4 months...even though they will not provide us with our needed medications. This "rule" is clearly to their financial advantage...and...it is obvious that they put this "additional" income well before the welfare of their customers. Next year's open enrollment periods can't come soon enough for us....we will be leaving Silverscript ASAP! read more

My 91 year old father used this service and when he went into a coma I called them to cancel his membership. The lady said they had no policy in place for canceling and would continue to send & take auto payments from his bank account for his meds. I told her I would fax my power of attorney with a letter telling them to end his membership at which point she said she needed to speak to him to confirm -WHAT PART OF HE'S IN A COMA DID SHE NOT GET? A week later I called again to confirm their receipt of my fax and to tell them he had died. Again, she said she needed to speak to him to confirm at which point I said WHAT PART OF HE'S DEAD DO YOU NOT GET? I spoke to a supervisor who was helpful and said they might take one more payment from his account as it was already scheduled. I informed her that this was not the first time I had called and if they took any more money from his account i would contact the authorities. I also wrote a long letter telling them what an awful company there are. Well guess what? Today I received my Dad's bank statement and they did take another auto payment, causing other checks to bounce. It is hard enough to deal with the death of a loved one but to be forced to deal with a company like SilverScript makes it all the harder. read more

I had a terrible experience with SilverScript, a part D Medicare drug plan. I paid almost $500.00 between premiums and copays and the company paid less than $100. The customer service agent suggested that I file a grievance and ask for a "tier exception" for one of my prescriptions. I spent a very long time on the phone doing both of those. They handled the "tier exception" request with total incompetence. Many, many phone calls and people later, my request was denied. Then, at least two weeks after I filed the grievance, it was denied in a letter to me regurgitating their policies. I am well aware of how the plan works and I would not have wasted even more time and energy on this plan if I had known that filing a grievance would simply result in a written class on the plan's logistics.. Long and short of it is they made money off of me and I would have been much better off financially has I just paid out of pocket for my prescriptions. So, I dropped the plan. Learn from me and don't waste your time and money. read more
