Unauthorized enrollment. My mother recently needed to go to full time nursing care. While waiting for Medicaid to be approved, I started getting Silverscript packetsand offers. Because I was waiting on Medicaid, I did NOTHING with Silverscript - did not contact them in any way with questions or enrollment requests. I started getting past due notices from them and ignored them because I didn't enroll. Interestingly, the subsequent notices included "discounts" which reduced the original 'past due' amount as if they were trying to reach a number that my mother would pay. Because my mother's competency has suffered, I know she would have paid this out of fear if she didn't have an advocate. It is shameful that this type of elder abuse exists. read more

So my Dr. ordered a medication which took a jump from last year from $ 20 to $33 in 2020 for 14 tablets. This medication is 60+ years old I if I were to call them they would tell me it is because the tier changed. So the copay for 30 tabs would be $72. I can get this medication using RX saver for $21 and change. What a rip off for the geriatric population. So I get to pay a monthly fee and get ripped off. Great company! read more

I am new to Silver Script and was skeptical. My first "issue" was very pleasant. I use a sleep med and they paid for it (it cost me a lot less than with Anthem). It is generic. They sent me a letter saying the drug is "not on our list of covered drugs...." I could only have for 90 days. The drug is the most widely used sleep drug in the world. The letter they sent was not very intelligible, but after reading it twice I called them. That was a relief. The call center was in Minn. not the Philippines or India. The agent I dealt with could not have been more helpful. She told me how to get an 'exception' so I can continue my decades use of the drug. My primary care doctor had a wonderful person who knew just how to handle that and in 90 minutes I got approval. I surmise that Silver Script simply wants more documentation in their file to support my use of the sleep drug. Once they got it they approved its use. Without meaning to brag I am used to complicated letters and complicated procedures. Silver Scrip would have received five stars if their initial letter was in plain language. Its purpose may have been to intimidate an insured into placidly accepting their initial position. But for the letter they were very responsive and helpful. A call center in Minn. impresses me with all of the off-shore methods companies use to save money and not give good service. Conclusion: So far Silver Script is just fine. read more

That is why I signed up with silverscript. When my prescription was sent, it was rejected because it requires a pre-authorization. A Pre-authorization for a Life Saving, Necessary medication. Has anyone noticed that the medicare drug plans inflate costs so that the customer has to pay more and more. Here is an example I am diabetic I use an Omni Pod insulin pump if I go to the corporation INSULET I can buy a 90 day supply for less than $1k. If I go through CVS Care mark for the identical product 90 day supply they charge $2,347.54. They then have the audacity to claim that they paid $1,695.05 and my share is ONLY $652.49. It is insulting to think that I can negotiate a 90 day supply for less than $1k while THEY negotiated over $2,300. If truth be known I bet that I paid close to 100% of their cost so they actually paid nothing. They need to be exposed for price gouging and they need to learn what honesty and integrity mean. When you call you do not get to talk to someone that speaks English without an accent. They often give different explanations that are not based in fact. They often times just hang up up you. For the above example they sent me a letter giving me an estimated cost of $464.50 but they actually charged my CC $652.49 I ask why the difference and no one is accountable. In January of this year they retailed the same 90 day supply for $1,565.02 a 50% increase in 3 months. My copay actually declined from 38% to 25% but they increased the price by 50% so instead of paying less I got to pay more!!!! As retirees we need to cut out the middle man (CVS Care mark, express scrips, Humana all of them). We just need to pay for administration services to negotiate costs etc. The most profitable companies in the US are insurance companies because they stack the deck only in their favor. Silverscript uses CVS and CVS specialty pharmacies. Dealing with the CVS pharmacies is an exercise in futility. The customer service is non existent. Trying to reach a real person to talk to is almost impossible with their automated / recorded call system. They obviously don't hire sufficient support staff. I had nothing but problems getting my multiple sclerosis medication filled through the CVS specialty pharmacy. read more

I have been with them for 3 yrs. They were hard to deal with and I assumed I needed them. Had to request for certain medicines to be covered. Very annoying. When i discovered GOOD RX, I used it more and more, saving money each time. And at my local Fred Meyer not a CVS. I recently asked for a printout of my spending and my Silverscript coverage. Shocked. I take three very inexpensive generic drugs that I could easily afford to pay for out of pocket. I also take two expensive 'inhaler' breathing medications that are not covered by SilverScript. The costs that were quoted to me by SilverScript for those 2 drugs would bury me financially! Because Medicare requires me to have Part D (drug) insurance (or pay future penalties), I pay SilverScript approx. $30 every month. For the first 9 months of this year, SilverScript has paid a total of $33.66 and I have paid $192.48 for my INEXPENSIVE generic drugs! My drug store even texted me and said, 'this one particular drug I was getting is CHEAPER (roughly $3) if you don't run it through your insurance company. And if you are wondering about my two expensive inhalers? All I can say is thank God for CANADA!! I get twice the amount for approx. 1/2 the cost! So I only have to order the drugs roughly every 3 1/2 months. Oh, the shipping cost? $9.00 #@%* dollars! Woohoo! I called Medicare a couple of weeks ago to complain about their 'recommendation' of SilverScript and told them exactly what I have written here. Since I really have to hold on to the Part D insurance or get penalized in the future, he recommended that I go with the cheapest insurance I can find, which will be about $19 per month. I actually could use prescription help with having an RX plan with my Medicare but after having read these reviews this will not be the way I go...BUT...my complaint that makes it a 1 Star for me is even if you go onto their Internet it says "Call this number" Not everyone does phone and I am one of those people who DOES NOT DO PHONE, even though it says 'other ways to contact us' I still did not see an email address to use...now maybe I'm blind in one eye and can't see with the other...but I really and truly could not see the email address that NON-PHONE USERS could use. These people are friggin' incompetent idiot time-wasting SOBs. Multiple hour long calls, multiple long holds and transfers to someone else, each of whom had to start over and "research the problem." Eventually they say there is issue with pre-authorization but they are giving me a one time "over-ride" so I can get the refill I need now. Pharmacy says no override given. Repeat. Same result. Repeat. Three separate SilverScript reps on 3 different calls told me the override had been granted. I would avoid this Plan. The reason we cannot have some single payer, universal medical care system in this country is because when it's proposed, insurance companies, drug companies, etc. unleash their billion dollar army of lobbyists and PR people to scare us into believing it would be terrible to have the Government run our health care. This company does the classic bait and switch. They tell you they'll cover your medications and then after you sign up, they cover nothing. I'm on six monthly medications that they said they cover and they have not covered one dime of anything I'm taking. I have no deductible and taking generics of what's on their coverage list, so it's not that. When I contact them, they give me this bs story about why they stated they'd cover them and why they actually don't. I was incredulous and couldn't believe their scam was legal. It's straight up legal extortion by deception. So now not only does this company not pay for anything, I'm stuck paying them every month for the privilege. I'm switching companies in the new year. Just this month I began using SilverScript Medicare and I am already dissatisfied and preparing to change next month during open enrollment. It is difficult communicating with them. Seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. CVS Caremark is the absolute worse, as is their local pharmacy. One person will tell you one thing and then if you speak to another person about it, they tell you something else. They I DO NOT trust them. Also, I have learned that I can get one of my 90-day prescriptions filled at Kroger for $19.68 with no insurance using the GoodRx discount card vs $62.42 copay with SilverScript insurance which I pay a monthly premium. When I called them to have that relative's name taken off of their mailing list, they said they "can't" take a name off their list. When I asked to speak to a manager, the operator refused my request. So they can add names to their list, they just can't remove names from their list. They seem like a terribly run organization. DO NOT go with Silverscripts, not only will they not fill my regular prescriptions, they have given me grief and hoops to jump for everything I have been subscribed by my doctor which was no problem when I went with them, never experienced this with Express Scripts my previous one. I had to pay at my expense to get my meds filled. I am so upset I am beside myself, this means I will not be able to cover my groceries for the month. Being new to Medicare, I had to choose my Part B and Part B selections. I made a horrible mistake choosing SilverScript. I received a letter stating that since I did not have creditable coverage last year, I would be charged a late penalty. Trouble is I had creditable employer coverage and so I filled out their form and even attached a copy of the employer's creditable coverage letter. To verify everything was ok, I called the number on the "Notice" FOUR TIMES and was on hold for over an hour each time. So I called the "regular" customer service number and the person who assisted me (clearly an India call center) said there was no issue or penalty with my new account. Now I receive a "FINAL NOTICE" dated December 11th, received late on December 14th, that states if I do not provide the requested information by DECEMBER 14th, they will charge me a penalty. So here I sit at 9:15 at night, on hold for 45 minutes so far, listening to the same music riff and "Thank you for your patience. Someone will be with you shortly." every 30 seconds. If it wasn't the "eleventh hour" for my 2021 coverage, I'd gladly pay more for a different company and WILL at my first opportunity. read more

Silverscript is horrid. How do they charge someone who never asked nor signed up for their services. I have tried to cancel on many occasions only to have failed. I called them, they said write to cancel. I wrote to cancel, got letter saying we know you tried to cancel but.... they won't stop harassing me. This is an outrage. Horrible! I was enrolled in early November of 2020. I received an email on November 18th telling me to call a number provided if I had questions. The number provided in the email was for Aetna. The person I was talking to told me I needed to use another number. She put me on hold and never came back. I hung up and started again. The phone menu is horrible and it took me over an hour to get someone who could supposedly help me. I was able to find out that I'm actually enrolled and that my packet had been sent. Today is January 4, 2020 and I still have not received my card or welcome packet. I called again today. I was on hold for 10 minutes before speaking with someone. I was talking to the agent and then he started saying he couldn't hear me and disconnected. I called back, was on hold for 25 minutes before speaking with someone. There was terrible noise on the line and I had trouble hearing him. He said a packet would be sent out and I would have it in 14 days. We shall see. I've heard it before. They stink!!!!! read more

Then some slick cats took them over and now Silverscript pays for NOTHING! They are scamming Medicare as well as their customers. I would give SilverScript zero stars if I could. My husband was on it at the recommendation of friends. That was a truly bad recommendation bc you only get the discount if you go to CVS Pharmacy and since they almost killed my husband (that's another story for another day), we NEVER do any business with CVS. We go to Rite Aid. Last year, we paid $55.10 per month for Part D coverage. I cannot find the December statement but they paid about a total (year-to-date) $1.22 for the year and we paid approximately $401.94. So, for a $1.22 benefit, we paid a total of $1,063.14. Shorted me a medication I need to breathe then the customer care line as they call it couldn't be bothered to help me so they just kept putting me on hold for over a half an hour without coming back on the line...multiple times. Finally got through to someone at the grievance hotline who told me to call back in a week with the reference number she gave me if I hadn't gotten my medication. When I didn't get the medication in a week, I called back and it took hours to get somebody to actually answer me rather than put me back on hold or disconnect me. Nearly two weeks out, shorted medication still not received and Virginia at your grievance hotline could not care less. I had to keep calling back and I got her every time...she would just keep HANGING UP on me instead of looking up the grievance number I had been given weeks ago and trying to help me. Unless you live in some alternate universe, I'd steer clear of this company. The disabled already have more than enough to deal with. read more

My cardiologist made an error and sent the wrong script over to the company. When I received the pills, I contacted SilverScript to let them know the wrong pills were ordered. I asked to have permission to return them and was denied. This is the last time I will use a mail order service! I know the mistake was the doc's but why should I be responsible for the error. Once I get my issue resolved, I am cancelling 2 silverscript and a Medicare supplement policy. On 12/28/2020 I mailed payments for 8 bills. Louis DeJoy and his dumbed down post office temporarily lost them. My husband's life ins policy threatened to cancel his policy if he didn't wire transfer money that day. One of the payments was to silverscript for 6 months coverage. When I got their late notice I sent in another 2 months worth of premiums, meanwhile Silverscript rec'd the chk for the six months and the check to my husband's life ins policy which they deposited to their account and it cleared my bank on Jan 19. Do you think I can get anyone to pay attention to my problem and refund the $. No, indifference, the run around, people have left messages to call #'s that lead back to the people who are not the the people who deal with payments. I have faxed the cancelled checks proving they deposited the money to their account. I am probably going to have to sue them. I don't need this stress in my life. You'd think a health insurance provider would have a clue to their clients mental health. As of yesterday they claim they have no record of the check. read more

The drug plan is OK, but their billing is abominable! We made our initial payment at our local CVS pharmacy in January of 2017. CVS told us that initially we needed to pay $76.90, when they should have told us $44.90. We have been trying, but have been unable, to get them to refund the difference of 32.00. We have now phoned then five times trying to get this refund. (The last call was today.) Each time they tell us we have to call back, and that the next time we call there will be no problem in getting the refund. But there always is a problem. It seems to us that they are just coming up with excuses for not issuing the refund. BTW--Our bank pays them directly, and we have never been late with a payment. read more

Horrible insurance company. I moved to a different state and called silverscript to give them my new addresss. Instead of simply changing my address, they canceled me out of the plan. They didn't tell me I would have to re-enroll since moving to the new state. The way I found out was when I filled my prescriptions and I had no insurance to cover to cost of the prescriptions. I called them and they reinstated my insurance, but it did not take effect until the next month. Later I received a bill for the month that Sliverscript didn't cover. I called them and they said I was still responsible for the month that I was not covered. I will be switching insurance companies as soon as possible. I don't recommend it to anybody. read more

Since July 27 when they represented that they were sending out my anti hypertensive medication ( now August 20) still no meds. I have called every 7 days since they represented delivery and each time including today they say it is 'in process'. They had also indicated in one phone call that they were concerned about an allergy (this is a chronic med for me- and no allergy for it exists for me). I spoke to my doctor who was equally frustrated with her multiple calls to respond to this mail in pharmacy with no response. The customer service even with the supervisor is stinky. So far they read from a script, hustle through the call, ignore the content of the customer request. We are not renewing our PDP contract with Silverscript. read more

And, in January they raised my monthly premium $29.00... and oh hark, this happened right after the first time I used my coverage, even after two years of paying for it before using it. read more
