I have used this Locksmith before, a long time ago. They have been in business for over 20 years or…read moreso.. I have been having problems with my garage door remote control and all my keys (house and car) were sort of coming apart. I guess they were too loose on the round ring. Yesterday, around 10:45AM, got up and went there on a whim. I couldn't take the fact that every time I had to open my garage, it kept giving me problems. I had to get out of the car, and open the garage from inside. I tried to fix it myself by changing the battery and couldn't make it work. The keys are a whole other story. Mike (I guess he is the owner), took a good look at it and in a heartbeat found the issue with my garage opener and replaced it with a very different kind of a battery that is not sold in a lot of places. Then he took a look at my keys and took each key out of the ring.. one by one and put everything back together again. For the garage opener and putting back my keys, he only charged me $20.00. They accept cash and credit cards only. If and when I need to use them again, w/out any hesitation.. I will. They also specialize in: key duplication, installing and replacing locks, garage door opening, lock repair, key extraction & lockout services. They are located at the corner inside the plaza where Trader Joes is along with other businesses. Thank you Mike and will be back if anything else goes wrong.

Today, June 22, 2026, I went back and found the shop was now on wheels (see clip)needed a mail box key. I went up to the big van's window and was greeted by Luis, whom I didn't know. I told him I needed a mail box key made and he said OK! Since I was curious, I asked him why they vacated their shop. He said the city had been wanting them out because the shop was built w/o permits. Yet, that shop was built over 25 years ago and took them that long to figure it out? Well, in any event, they can still make keys and provide other important services you may need. I needed a mail box key and Luis wasted no time and made one for me. I asked for a refund of at least the blank key I had brought in and he said there was nothing he could do because it didn't originate from their store. A warning at the beginning when I asked him to cut my key would have been nice but instead all he said is that those keys cost $35 to cut (which is high) but I was there so I agreed only to be disappointed in the end. He also said he'd let me know once I got there if my type of lock would cost more. That part was solid! He arrived quickly and began. But he never asked me whether my door handle still pulls down on the inside to open the door (it doesn't). After watching him struggle to try and pull the handle using a metal contraption that slid under the door, it became obvious that he made an assumption that needed feedback. I also texted the building maintenance person to explain what Mike was trying to do. He offered feedback that finally got him on the right track. Yay! He used balloon devices near the latch to pop the door open... right into the wall, which left a dent (ouch... I guess holding the handle wasn't possible. Fine). Mike walks out to get his receipt book. He attempts to charge me over $200 without ever mentioning pricing along the way as a heads up. When I mention the scratch marks I now have to clean and the wall I have to patch up from the door popping into it, the price lowers to just over $150. I paid it, but I wasn't happy that I called at 11:30, he got here by 11:45, and didn't finish until 12:30 after spending so much time trying to pull down a handle that's not meant to budge when locked.
