Thank you to Sparks Marina RV Park for your great customer service during a very trying time! I…read morecalled for reservations because of the Bug and Stallion fires. I let them know that it would be couple of hours before I could get there as my motorhome was in Gardnerville, NV and I was driving down there to pick it up. They assured me this was no problem. As I am picking up my rig, I realize that I am going to be late and when I called, again, I was assured there would be a couple of staff members out front when I arrived to assist me. Once there and checked in, I was led to my space and give a briefing of where everything was. This park is extremely clean including bathrooms, showers, and laundry room. There are 3 different dog runs that were also very clean. The only complaint that I have is there is not much room between sites. My picnic table is very close to the neighbor's rig.

There's no room to park or hang out at the picnic table without bumping into your neighbor on both sides. It seems like most full-timers live towards the back. The facilities are decent, including laundry, bathrooms, and showers. The dog park is a bit of a letdown. It's a sandbox and not very clean. I've seen dog owners not pick up after their dogs' poop. It's smells bad. Did I mention poor reception for ATT? I think this whole area. Overall, this place works for a quick stopover, but there are some issues that need to be addressed.

Great Day on Lake Tahoe, But Know the Rules & How to Navigate!…read more Open: Sunrise to sunset Parking: $12/car, with plenty of parking throughout the complex. Restrooms: Porta-potties plus 3-stall restrooms for each gender. Zephyr Cove Resort is a solid spot if you want to rent water activities on the South Lake Tahoe side. They offer power boat rentals, parasailing, jet skis, SUPs, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrellas, ice, wakeboards, and more. Rentals are weather permitting. You must be 18+ to rent, or 16+ with a valid photo ID to operate a personal watercraft. We rented a 24' Crest Pontoon OB for our group. The boat holds up to 13 people or 2,397 lbs. Since we had 14 people, we had to be weighed before departure. We booked the 3-hour rental with the 4th hour free for $925 + fuel. The power boat came with a tubing. Our total ended up being $1,248 as of June 2026. Before departure, everyone signs an electronic waiver, which serves as the contract agreement with the company. Boat operation: The boat itself was relatively easy to operate, pretty much like driving an automatic car. The more important part is knowing how to navigate the lake and read the maps. Your crew needs to designate a captain and co-captain. They are responsible for learning how the boat operates, making sure everyone follows the rules, including wearing life jackets, and checking the boat's condition before departure and after returning. Emerald Bay was our favorite swimming spot. There were plenty of people kayaking, paddleboarding, tubing, and boating around the area. The water was lukewarm and crystal clear, and the scenery was gorgeous. We also got lucky with beautiful blue skies that day. One thing to REALLY pay attention to: life jackets are required whenever you're in the water. There was an active boat patrol on the lake, and our boat was stopped because one of our friends forgot to wear a life jacket while tubing. The captain received the fine because he's responsible for enforcing the rules. Interestingly, the fine depends on which side of the lake you're on. We were told that a ticket on the Nevada side is around $25-$100, while on the California side it can be around $87-$250. Lesson learned! Navigation back to Zephyr Cove was probably the most challenging part. The venue doesn't have a particularly high-visibility landmark or tower, so finding our way back wasn't as intuitive as we expected. We ended up using our Strava app to help navigate because Google Maps seemed to lag/delay. Returning the boat itself was easy, but docking/parking it back was another story. Staff wanted us to park parallel in a specific spot, and it took us three attempts. Each attempt failed, so we had to circle around and try again. Definitely a little stressful after several hours on the lake! Overall, though, we had a really fun day on Lake Tahoe. The boat was easy to operate, Emerald Bay was beautiful, and having our own pontoon gave our group a lot of freedom to explore and swim. Solid option for renting a boat or other water activities around South Lake Tahoe. Just make sure everyone understands the life-jacket rules, and be prepared for a little adventure when navigating back and docking.

However, the initial booking challenges, due to the six-month advance requirement, we had to book two reservations. We so loved our initial spot for three days, and while the second location was just okay, the proximity to the lake--only five minutes away--made up for it. We book travel with our dog in mind and this resort offers a beautiful, dog-friendly beach section that offers ample space and a relaxed atmosphere. Our dog loved it. Nothing like the entire family at the beach. Of course-Always leave -no trace behind. The resort's amenities like paddle board, kayak, boat, and jet ski rentals are a great addition. Nice to see the many options. We, however- prefer bringing our own water toys. The stunning sunsets, shallow swimming areas, and crystal-clear water made for an idyllic retreat. We're eager to return, ideally securing one lovely desirable campsite. Special thank you to Daniel and Bobby for great service.

Run! Don't walk away. This is NOT a resort. There is a very small portion of this facility that is…read moreused for Interval International resort exchange. The majority is rented out to low income or disabled people. I found a woman literally passed out in a car in front of the unit my family stayed in. She was clearly under the influence, folded forward in the front seat, a cigarette in her mouth broken from when her face hit the gear shift. There was a broken down, denied, paint peeling car in a parking spot in front of our unit that didn't move the entire time we were staying there. The "gym" is gross. Ancient broken equipment. No towels. Nothing to sanitize before you use the equipment (if you can get it to work). Tbere is seldom anyone in the office to help if you have an issue. When there IS someone they don't help - even if they could. The resort doesn't hesitate to tell lies to get people to stay. For example, the website says you can purchase high speed secure internet for the week. False. There is no high speed internet. There isn't even internet to be purchased. The "open" internet has no internet connection. They have people staying here who are just plain nasty and they bring more people (who don't live here and who aren't resort exchange visitors) who are running around, yelling, leaving trash and belongings wherever they happen to land. The midweek tidy up is a joke. They didn't clean anything ... dishes, shower ... nothing. They left a stack of towels and put some in the wall holder. The shower broke so we couldn't even take showers - had to use the tub. The good thing is that maintenance came quickly to fix it. The inside of the unit is pleasant, but nothing fancy. The TVs aren't smart .... and why would they be? The internet doesn't work. There is a tiny DVD player connected to the back of the TV and it sits on the table where you are supposed to eat. Why? Because the TV is wall mounted and there is no credenza, tv table or anything under the TV to put the DVD player on. If you want to move the dining table away from the wall and actually eat at it, you have to put the DVD player on the floor There is very little counter space. And what little is there is is occupied by a microwave, tiny toaster and plastic coffee maker. Glass wear is on a glass shelf that looks like it hasn't been dusted in months. Finally, this "resort" (not) is in a very sketchy neighborhood. I do not hesitate to say this is the WORST "resort" I have ever stayed in ... for this pit, I exchanged my unit in Hawaii. I'm just disgusted!
