Recently had a number of problems with my little BMW Z3, and the mechanics at Silver Star did such a fabulous job that my 21 year old car (that I purchased new back in 2000) is running as smoothly as the day I bought it!!! Until now I've never experienced the blatant games played against a woman at a mechanic. Or maybe they are just that disrespectful. Either way... As a woman who dated a mechanic for many years, worked on her own motorcycle, and is a trained heavy equipment operator - I can confidently say - This is NOT the mechanic for women nor people with luxury cars. My guy friend who recommended them had a great first experience and is shocked by the BS I've dealt with. They had my car for two days and barely did squat. I told them at the end of the second day to not do any work and I would come get my car. They proceeded to continue working and removed my door panel - which when they put it pack on they left the leather lining loose and didn't put a screw cover back on. For the oil change the light wasn't reset and the old sticker remained. They told me my new brakes were warped (from not being driven - mind you) and I would need pads, oh wait no, pads and rotors, oh wait, pads, rotors, and flush. My god. When confronted about all of these: "Oh yeah, I noticed the light when it was pulled out. He must have forgot to reset it. We'll take care of it when you come back." "The screw covers are locked up. We'll take care of it when you come back." "The lining is from wear and tear, not us. We just took the panel off." (Though the 3 drivers of the car in the last week vouch it wasn't like that. Hmmm) I DO NOT recommend this place and have already scheduled my services with another mechanic. read more

Key FOB and Push Button Start Quit Working We were out of town when our key FOB and push button start quit working. We waited until we returned to have Silver Star repair the car. Scott's team was able to diagnosis the issue (computer glitch), reprogram the computer and complete the repairs. A Furthering Update On Silver Star Auto Repair..... (1) While I did call Silver Star Auto Repair on or around December 27th, 2016 regarding the ABS Sensor issue, in no way, shape or form did I request "a diagnosis over the phone". This is simply another in a maze of lies by the company. I am very well aware that a "repair shop" does not provide a diagnosis over the phone regarding any form of mechanical or sensor issue. (2) I was advised that front brakes and rotors needed to be replaced and I was also advised by their "service advisor" at that time that the sensor issue in no way, shape or form will affect the vehicle's performance and I specifically advised the "service advisor" that I wanted the sensor issue resolved and was "told" that the brakes and the rotors needed to be addressed first before resolving the sensor. According to their own invoice and estimate, I was never advised that this was a "first step". Lie #2 (3) They did state that they could get a "rebuilt" module for three times the cost of a company that they use to rebuild the ABS module in an attempt to defraud myself and my company. We will be filing litigation to that effect as well as their failure to complete the work that was requested by myself regarding the ABS module/sensors. (4) I never received a new estimate in writing for the ABS repair nor do we accept their offer that a "credit" was offered for the cost of the ABS module repair since the credit, in addition to the verbal estimate of the ABS module repair, would total nearly $700.00 and we would NEVER allow this company to take possession of the vehicle and move it across state lines, after not doing what was asked regarding the ABS module when I brought the vehicle to their shop. (5) On January 31, I called Silver Star Auto Repair to tell them that I was not going to be bringing in the car for the ABS module repair, told them to refund the cost of the sensor, the "diagnostic" labor and the labor of installing the sensor. The service advisor refused to provide that refund and I was told that the owner needed to take care of the refund. As you can imagine, the refund totaling $239.00 was never provided and we will be seeking those damages in court. (6) We will not be removing our experience with Silver Star "Auto Repair" on Internet postings as well since that was our experience with this company and nothing less than the ABS module being repaired along with a rental car being provided is going to satisfy this issue since I was lied to by the service advisor twice. read more

This place went above and beyond!! Our car broke down while we were on vacation from Maryland/right before we were supposed to travel back. Not only did they provide excellent and speedy service, but they did so at a great price! Everyone I spoke to that day was very friendly and helpful. read more

Not so sure that the service is as good as it once was. My tires were bald (but I didn't know that) and I specifically asked them to check my tires. It had been a while since I had gotten tires and I just wanted to be safe. I was assured they were fine. Then... Almost had a total blow out! The one back tire just split apart and wires came out of them that same month... They were THAT bad! I ended up getting four new tires. I took the photo into them and they started to tell me a nail could make a tire go flat... Until I showed them the photos. They apologized and admitted they just must have just checked the tire pressure. There was no way they could miss these very bald tires. They then proceeded to tell me my gaskets were leaking when I came in for oil and I asked them to send me an estimate. I stopped back later in the month (my oil change was almost due). Again, explained I had never gotten the estimate. They looked and realized they hadn't sent it but assured me they would that night. Still haven't gotten it to date. Decided to take it right next door to get a second opinion and estimate. Was told the gaskets weren't wasn't leaking at all! Silverstar used to be so good! Not sure what is going on. Just not the same service or care. read more

I had my car fixed at Silver Star World Wide Auto Repair while visiting Ormond Beach for my regular winter escape for a few months. I am very impressed with them and they were recommended by someone at church. The employees were honest and upfront with me about what was going on, explaining everything, and did what needed to be done at a reasonable price. The owner was very friendly and concerned about what was happening to my car. Then after I had the work done, I received a personal handwritten thank you, who even does that anymore? Silver Star does because they know how important their customers are. I will not hesitate to go back the next time I need something done. Being a woman, trusting someone fixing my car is very important because that is all about safety to me. read more

They are the absolute best Mercedes shop in Volusia County and I have had dozens of really great experiences with them. They have bent over backwards on numerous occasions to make sure my automobiles are working perfectly and I very much appreciate how much they care about the safety of my wife and our children. The team there has gone above and beyond to provide excellent service. There is never a long wait on the phone and they return calls promptly. I chose Silver Star because they are close by. I started off with an oil change to see how I was treated. They were courteous and took care of me promptly. I then started my check list of things my car needed for repair. I scheduled a brake replacement and driver side door lock repair. This involved new brake pads, rotors, sensors and door lock parts. I expected to pay about $500, instead I got a bill of over $900 and instead of all my brakes being taken care of. They just took care of my rear brakes. The parts involved should have cost around $250-300, so $600 for a couple to three hours is infuriating. They said it would cost me $500 to replace my front brakes. To top everything off, my brakes squeak so I asked them what they could do about it and they basically told me told me the best they could do is contact the manufacturers of the brakes.
