Received an estimate online that did not match the estimate received in person there was a $600 difference, when I dropped my car off it took them 8 hours to confirm it was the compressor and when I came to pick it up it was still in pieces and I was told it would be another hour until I could get my car back. Honesty and greed would be the first things to improve. My last experience with Honest One - a family member had a car with an electrical problem and was told it needed a new alternator but he didn't have the money to fix it then. This was not true. He had a second opinion when he moved to another state and the alternator was fine, it was just a dirty battery hook up. Had to replace the fuel pump in my car, they "fixed" it. Took it home shut it off, and it would not start again. Now, it seems that another part associated with fuel system needed replacing inside the gas tank. Funny how that happened just after replacing the fuel pump. I wondered why the guy said he wasn't going to turn it off when i went in to pay for the services. I think the person knew what would happen. According to Liz, this new part broke because I put more a little more gas in it after it was full. I am the owner and driver and overfilling is not what I do and/or she said, that parts wear out at the same time. Ridiculous. Unfortunately, Due to circumstances, I had to have them fix it. And they believed that they did me a big favor by paying for the second tow and thought I should be grateful for that. At one time, I thought it was a great place for repairs, I will never go back nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

Our Hyundai stalled on I-95 about 4 miles north of Ormond Beach, and after some effort we got it running just enough to make it to Honest-1 Auto. By the time we reached their shop, the car completely broke down right at the entrance. Went to Honest-1 Auto Care for issues with my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. It was shaking violently while sitting idly at red lights, as well as when driving above 70mph. They took great care of my vehicle, troubleshooting everything as well as inspected everything. Gave me a detailed in-depth inspection report, which showed me everything I needed to worry about, as well as things to worry about later down the road. They repaired my Jeep, and is riding perfectly now. The price for repairs was obviously expensive, about $1,900, but it was worth it. I know labor for working on a Jeep is a bit extensive and time-consuming. They were informative, professional, and helpful. 10/10 would go back. read more

Great place with awesome service! We were taking our vehicle to Toyota but there prices and service had gone down hill. We tried Honest 1 and could not be happier with the service. Liz was so helpful and even gave us a discount even though we didn't have a coupon. Amanda even gave my wife a ride home since we had the plumber coming out to our house. The waiting area and bathroom were pristine and even had snacks and drinks. Liz went over our inspection and did not try to upsell us on anything. I'm someone that knows 0 about cars. I had a tire actively going flat, I could hear it leaking and not driveable. I stopped in and asked if there was anyone that could take a look at it really quick to tell me what to do and Liz told me no one can help me without an appointment. UPDATE: Frank was kind enough to call me back and correct the erroneous charge of $90 in supplies by providing a refund directly to my card. Thanks for your great customer service and responsiveness to feedback! I really enjoyed the demeanor of the front desk staff and their shuttle offerings, but was a bit disappointed with their prices and had to decline services. Average rates for mechanic labor across the state are around $145-150/hr, they were charging closer to $200, which is their prerogative if they think their services are worth that - it just wasn't affordable in my opinion. Their diagnostic charge was also a bit high compared to other shops in the area ($180). Was more so frustrated with the extra "shop supplies" charge, which came out to $90 (half the price of the services) and isn't itemized, even though my car was only there for a few hours and all they did was diagnose the issue. I can't imagine what supplies would cost that much for a diagnostic appointment. For future customers, I hope Honest1 might consider reworking their pricing system so that those charges can be clarified on the invoice, or just integrate the cost into their services so it's not a mystery line item with no justification. Also, it would be great to have higher transparency around the average cost of those supplies for regular servicing appointments/common diagnostic tests/etc. Thanks for your kindness, but I cannot recommend due to their lack of clarity around the charges, which can only be viewed after they take your credit card to process the transaction. read more

got a $960 estimate to do rear brakes and replace rotors on the rear only. Front brakes were not being touched. This broke down on the written estimate to roughly $680 for parts and $280 for labor. I bought the parts at Oriely auto parts instead for $240. This included 2 new rotors, 2 pads 2 caliper pins and their little dust jacket). Me and my neighbor did the break job. Took us 2 hours. My issue was not the quoted labor fee, it was the 300% markup on parts. That markup is absurd, and while not precisely dishonest, it is absolutely price gouging. Watch out for this place on their parts price gouging. read more

I went in for an oil change brake check and 38 point inspection. I was told my air conditioner was running warm and that was an issue. I drove home 5 miles and the next day was heading to Jacksonville airport to go overseas. My car broke down 15 miles in. I pulled over open the hood and there was radiator fluid all over the hood of my car. There was no radiator cap. I called them and was told that the car came in with no radiator cap. However, when I pick the car up was told nothing about the car not having a radiator cap and they denied that it was them that didn't replace it. I will be consulting a lawyer regarding this matter. them $153 plus the tow was another $70. AAA only pays for 5 miles and I don't know what the damages are to my car as of yet. read more

I have been going there for a few years with no issues. I recommended them to a family member visiting from out of state, who was experiencing a check engine light that came on. I made an appointment for them, explained situation to service advisor. We dropped vehicle off in the AM, was told a couple of hours. Five hours later I called to check, they had not performed the diagnostics yet. Was told they closed at 6 PM. At 5:30 called again, no answer. We drove there, the vehicle was locked inside gate, doors locked. So sorry I recommended this business, and I will never do business with them again! Very poor communication from the service advisor.
