I want to talk about a phone call I had with Matt. Before I do, a little about me... I know nothing about cars. Actually I know less than nothing. My husband dealt with everything when it came to our cars. When he died, I was screwed. I called Honest-1 because my car would not start. Matt was absolutely the most amazing calming person I ever spoke to. He took care of everything. Of course I go back out in my car starts. I am bringing my car in - at least I don't have to get it towed ... and Matt gave me a little advice. Apparently if you drive your car less than 50 miles a week it's really bad for your battery. Matt, you are wonderful!!! I advise any woman who is floundering with having to deal with a car. Take your car to Honest-1. Matt is a gem to talk to and to work with. I can't wait to meet you on Monday, Matt. read more

Thank you for your response. I'm very aware of all the issues with my car, thank you for pointing them out, but at the end of the day, your establishment should've done the dye test when I was there on my first visit. When taking it to another mechanic, he told me that my oil was really dirty considering that you just recently did the oil change two weeks ago so that wasn't something I would want to hear. Not to say my car needs the work, (because before you even started the work, you gave me a car fax report on all the issues which i thought was "pushy". I think you could've done a better job addressing the reason for my initial visit....oil leak - not the other (100) reasons. read more

Received an estimate online that did not match the estimate received in person there was a $600 difference, when I dropped my car off it took them 8 hours to confirm it was the compressor and when I came to pick it up it was still in pieces and I was told it would be another hour until I could get my car back. Honest is the last thing this company is. Do not trust honest 1 with your vehicle. read more

My vehicle had been squeaking at every bump and turn and I was concerned about the suspension and many other things that could be causing the squeaks. The mechanic took my car for a test drive and found the garment rack in the back seat was causing the squeaks. After a good laugh I was happy that they were honest and found the squeak! Honesty and greed would be the first things to improve. My last experience with Honest One - a family member had a car with an electrical problem and was told it needed a new alternator but he didn't have the money to fix it then. This was not true. He had a second opinion when he moved to another state and the alternator was fine, it was just a dirty battery hook up. Had to replace the fuel pump in my car, they "fixed" it. Took it home shut it off, and it would not start again. Now, it seems that another part associated with fuel system needed replacing inside the gas tank. Funny how that happened just after replacing the fuel pump. I wondered why the guy said he wasn't going to turn it off when i went in to pay for the services. I think the person knew what would happen. According to Liz, this new part broke because I put more a little more gas in it after it was full. I am the owner and driver and overfilling is not what I do and/or she said, that parts wear out at the same time. Ridiculous. Unfortunately, Due to circumstances, I had to have them fix it. And they believed that they did me a big favor by paying for the second tow and thought I should be grateful for that. At one time, I thought it was a great place for repairs, I will never go back nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

Sends one message and fails to respond. Do t think they are too honest with the lack of communication.

Our Hyundai stalled on I-95 about 4 miles north of Ormond Beach, and after some effort we got it running just enough to make it to Honest-1 Auto. By the time we reached their shop, the car completely broke down right at the entrance. Without hesitation, two of the techs, Bryton and Stephen came running out to help push our car safely into the shop. Their kindness and quick response instantly put us at ease. After a quick but thorough assessment, they diagnosed the issue -- a blown bearing that unfortunately killed the engine. Even though this wasn't a repair they could fix on the spot, they were incredibly professional, honest, and compassionate in walking us through our options. They truly live up to their name -- Honest-1 Auto. Michelle and Liz were so wonderful, offering clear advice on how to proceed and guiding us on the next steps to get the car to Hyundai. The entire team went above and beyond in a stressful situation. We couldn't be more grateful for their honesty, kindness, and genuine care. If you're ever in need of auto help in the Ormond Beach area, Honest-1 Auto at 720 S Nova Rd is the place you want to be! read more

Honest 1 did a great job again They help keep my 2016 ram 1500 up to date and safe on the road. Great pricing and service I have had oil changes, tire rotation, rotors and brakes etc Always professional Thank you again read more

I can't say enough good things about this mechanic shop. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in good hands. The team is not only incredibly skilled, but also kind, patient, and genuinely caring. They took the time to explain what was going on with my car in a way that made sense, and I never felt rushed or talked down to. What really stood out to me was how much pride they take in their work. You can tell they're not just fixing cars--they're helping people. My car runs better than it has in years, and I left feeling relieved, grateful, and confident in their work. It's rare to find a place that combines great service, quality work, and heart. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. read more

Finally found a repair shop I trust, who lives up to their name. Well run. I recommend them.

Went to Honest-1 Auto Care for issues with my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. It was shaking violently while sitting idly at red lights, as well as when driving above 70mph. They took great care of my vehicle, troubleshooting everything as well as inspected everything. Gave me a detailed in-depth inspection report, which showed me everything I needed to worry about, as well as things to worry about later down the road. They repaired my Jeep, and is riding perfectly now. The price for repairs was obviously expensive, about $1,900, but it was worth it. I know labor for working on a Jeep is a bit extensive and time-consuming. They were informative, professional, and helpful. 10/10 would go back. read more

Found this shop online, was concerned since I wasn't familiar with the shop. From the minute I talked to the receptionist, it was a sign that it would be a good experience. Very professional, honest, superb service and a fare price read more

Lol. Such lies. 1st off. Let me also add that while they promise you pickup and drop off the woman was running so late I had to call an Uber. Then at pickup she snapped and yelled at me because she had to pick me and another man up. I would also like to add that I was promised they would fix my window no charge and they have had ZERO communication in months until the above fake apology. Absolutely horrible. Go anywhere worse. read more

No estimate. Problem not corrected. Now I'm ghosted. At least it was only $600 I lost. Be careful if you're getting any major repair done. Can the business owner ERIC address this please? read more

Well I honestly say there are horrible i was told two days ago they can do the work and will call back with the quote poured my heart out to them and told them the scenario that I was in they were acting like they cared and we're going to be helpful two days go by the day that my appointment was made for that the work was going to be done and they told me they don't do it The manager was nasty talking to me like as if I was making up everything I was told two days ago. thanks a lot for wasting my time read more

Great place with awesome service! We were taking our vehicle to Toyota but there prices and service had gone down hill. We tried Honest 1 and could not be happier with the service. Liz was so helpful and even gave us a discount even though we didn't have a coupon. Amanda even gave my wife a ride home since we had the plumber coming out to our house. The waiting area and bathroom were pristine and even had snacks and drinks. Liz went over our inspection and did not try to upsell us on anything. If you are looking for a local repair shop I highly recommend the friendly folks down at Honest 1. Thank you guys again! read more

I'm someone that knows 0 about cars. I had a tire actively going flat, I could hear it leaking and not driveable. I stopped in and asked if there was anyone that could take a look at it really quick to tell me what to do and Liz told me no one can help me without an appointment. Even after I shared that information. I asked her if she knew of somewhere I should go nearby and she said "no, maybe down the road if they are still open." Absolutely zero help. Thanks Liz. I went to discount tire, they were slammed and closing in 10 minutes and were incredibly helpful, replaced the tire valve and didn't charge me. read more

Liz and the team went over and above to solve what I needed done. I would recommend them to anyone

Best experience with auto care ever! The lobby and office were so clean and comfortable. They really were honest and careful to diagnose my cars issues. They could have charged me more but didn't and explained why they were charging me less. I trust these guys and I'm grateful for the respect they showed me. read more

got a $960 estimate to do rear brakes and replace rotors on the rear only. Front brakes were not being touched. This broke down on the written estimate to roughly $680 for parts and $280 for labor. I bought the parts at Oriely auto parts instead for $240. This included 2 new rotors, 2 pads 2 caliper pins and their little dust jacket). Me and my neighbor did the break job. Took us 2 hours. My issue was not the quoted labor fee, it was the 300% markup on parts. That markup is absurd, and while not precisely dishonest, it is absolutely price gouging. Watch out for this place on their parts price gouging. read more

Have 4 cars and have been servicing them here for years. Always get friendly and excellent service. Would not go anywhere else

UPDATE: Frank was kind enough to call me back and correct the erroneous charge of $90 in supplies by providing a refund directly to my card. Thanks for your great customer service and responsiveness to feedback! I really enjoyed the demeanor of the front desk staff and their shuttle offerings, but was a bit disappointed with their prices and had to decline services. Average rates for mechanic labor across the state are around $145-150/hr, they were charging closer to $200, which is their prerogative if they think their services are worth that - it just wasn't affordable in my opinion. Their diagnostic charge was also a bit high compared to other shops in the area ($180). Was more so frustrated with the extra "shop supplies" charge, which came out to $90 (half the price of the services) and isn't itemized, even though my car was only there for a few hours and all they did was diagnose the issue. I can't imagine what supplies would cost that much for a diagnostic appointment. For future customers, I hope Honest1 might consider reworking their pricing system so that those charges can be clarified on the invoice, or just integrate the cost into their services so it's not a mystery line item with no justification. Also, it would be great to have higher transparency around the average cost of those supplies for regular servicing appointments/common diagnostic tests/etc. Thanks for your kindness, but I cannot recommend due to their lack of clarity around the charges, which can only be viewed after they take your credit card to process the transaction. read more

They will look at your vehicle and give a high repair quote but will not add the quote into the repair. So you will pay twice.

The service was horrible. We decided to go to a different shop, cause Honest was charging 300.00 more than the other place I decided to go to. Also, the shop I went to,pointed out other issues that Honest didn't find. Also, the lady that worked up front she had long blonde hair, was very rude to us and didn't say thank you or anything. Would I recommend this place NO. read more

Honest one I don't think so this place is one of the biggest rip-offs in town you won't get out of there unless you're bill is $1,000, that's what it cost me for a radiator flush, I was in total shock when they told me $1,000 they came up with all kind of things wrong and my car only has 45,000 miles on it please beware just saying and if you're broke down and desperate then you're in trouble you're better off getting it towed out of there getting very hard to find honest mechanics anymore but let me tell you these guys are professional rip offs it's like they're reading from a book, they love to take advantage of people from out of town like during bike week my friend brought his truck in there for ball joints they charged him almost $5,000 don't be tempted by the free donuts and a ride home, yes I paid $1,000 they changed a little elbow on my motor right in the front I guess to make it look like they did some work I was only there to get my radiator flushed honest one I don't think so, it wasn't Ormond Beach it was South that's why you didn't find it Daytona read more

Outstanding and professional. Very responsive to our needs , easy to work with. Very curious and always went out of their way to help

I went in for an oil change brake check and 38 point inspection. I was told my air conditioner was running warm and that was an issue. I drove home 5 miles and the next day was heading to Jacksonville airport to go overseas. My car broke down 15 miles in. I pulled over open the hood and there was radiator fluid all over the hood of my car. There was no radiator cap. I called them and was told that the car came in with no radiator cap. However, when I pick the car up was told nothing about the car not having a radiator cap and they denied that it was them that didn't replace it. I will be consulting a lawyer regarding this matter. them $153 plus the tow was another $70. AAA only pays for 5 miles and I don't know what the damages are to my car as of yet. read more

I have been going there for a few years with no issues. I recommended them to a family member visiting from out of state, who was experiencing a check engine light that came on. I made an appointment for them, explained situation to service advisor. We dropped vehicle off in the AM, was told a couple of hours. Five hours later I called to check, they had not performed the diagnostics yet. Was told they closed at 6 PM. At 5:30 called again, no answer. We drove there, the vehicle was locked inside gate, doors locked. So sorry I recommended this business, and I will never do business with them again! Very poor communication from the service advisor. They don't seem to care or listen to what you what you are telling them. read more
