Love small town country cafes that provide great food at a fair price. Stopped here on my way to Glacier NP and it was a solidly good breakfast - just not the level noted in the other reviews. I wanted to try the cinnamon roll but they were out - to compare to my favorite Lisa Anne's Country Cupboard in North Denver. So I went with the biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy, bacon and an additional side of country ham. The b's n g's were good, not great. Same with the ham - I was hoping for less processed with my bone in ham bit still good - just not Thanksgiving ham type good. Finally, the usual thing that makes these types of places my favorites are the friendliness of the folks. While I did have a good chat with some locals here, the wait staff weren't the most attentive or engaging. Maybe it was just a bad day. Regardless, good spot to stop by for breakfast. Be careful if you are taking a left out of the parking lot to hit the interstate. I almost got a ticket for an improper turn going across two lanes. read more

Service was friendly. Good breakfast food. The only issue was another patron brought his dog in. The dog was in a front pouch carrier that allowed him to be at table level with chin sitting on table. There was no indication of the dog being a service dog and even if, the dog cannot be at the table. I cannot imagine this is within health dept code. read more

Food was definitely delicious and tasted like a home cooked meal from scratch. I ordered the country chicken fried steak with over easy eggs and hash-browns. The country fried steak was very large in proportion but hardly any hash-browns :/ But the taste was definitely there. The reason for my 3 star, is the lack of customer service. Although we were just passing through, we heard there was a rodeo in town and bringing lots of customers in. One would think more tips and good sales for the day would be a desired thing but what we felt was as if we were unwelcome and unwanted. Every time our waitress came around us she was flying 100 miles and hour and walking away from the table as we were talking to her. And when she did stick around long enough. she spoke to us in a manner that was rude. I also did not appreciate the taste of the places decorations and found them offensive. (See photos) Shot Gun with the words, "if it's brown, it's down". ??? What exactly down this mean? What's "brown" that a cowboy would shot down? Racism in 2019? Possibly or just really distasteful decorations. read more

I had the smothered burrito. I chose the bacon option ,which it was loaded with. It was pretty good , but very salty . Have your immune system in top order before eating here . Silverware is stuffed in a container on table so it's always available for anyone to dig through or sneeze on . This place is pretty run down . People love to come here because of large portions and basically good food . Waitress was eating food the whole time we were there . This greasy spoon has been here for many many years . So bring your appetite and eye mask and you'll be set to go ! read more

Religious feelings come to the heart. Found this spot after landing at airport. It was so great that went back the next morning. The menu is impressive. We tried many items. The pancakes and French toast are tops. Pancakes being the better. Maybe best BLT ever. Home made curly fries. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had!! I had the Spur Special (a smaller version of the Heart Attack.) it was plenty! Everything is homemade and you can taste it! The outside looks old, but it's in the old part of town. The decor is western and fun to read and look at. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Try it out if you are in Sheridan or just passing through. read more

Walked in, saw a small bar and a back area for seating. Was greeted instantly. I got the feeling the old timers that were in there all knew each other and go there all the time. I got the 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger and curly fries, and was incredibly impressed when the owner was the one cooking! She told me that the beef is delivered every morning from a local farmer. Place appears to be a local spot, small large counter area, and a small dinning area. We sat at the counter. Breakfast was great I ordered the 1/2 breakfast burrito and it was huge, I can't imagine the full size. I kept starring at the huge cinnamon rolls the size of s dinner plate, so I ordered one to go! Fantastic breakfast. Both of us had the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and toast. The chicken fried steak is served with a white gravy with sausage mixed in. The entire dish was fantastic. We also tried the cinnamon roll French toast which was equally impressive. We couldn't finish all of the food because the portions were so big, but glad we ordered it to try a little of everything. Sit at the bar and talk to the locals as you eat breakfast. They prepare eggs better than we've ever had them at a restaurant. Ordered poached, scrambled, over-medium. The bacon was super crispy, and very generous portions. The hash browns were made from fresh potatoes and had the perfect portion of crisp to them. The biscuits were nothing short of amazing - flaky layers of fresh baked buttery fluffyness. We were a group of five, and there was room in the back, with many locals and the front of the house has a breakfast bar that only had a few stools left to sit watch the action in their open kitchen. AMAZING! Small town diner with fantastic food! Large portions at reasonable prices and very friendly accommodating staff. I had the "spur" with a side of bacon (extra bacon) and a pancake (aka "blanket). All food was cooked perfectly and more than expected. The bonus was great conversations with locals (and regulars) who were more than happy to tell me about their town and other great places to visit in town. I'd love to come back and visit the town and I would absolutely make SILVER SPUR my spot for breakfast.... read more
