Update: took a friend here who could not believe the quality of the Chicken Fried Steak, Eggs and Hash Browns. It truly checks all the boxes and all at a reasonable price. These things along with the fantastic service and down home feeling keep this Yelper coming back!

    The Silver Spur Café

I have been eating here since I was a child!! The food has always been good as well as the service! I frequent this café as often as I can as it is a hometown staple. Some reviews talk about the atmosphere and their interactions with the cook or the staff in a negative way which I find terribly unfortunate. If your feelings need massaged and/or need special treatment, you may need to go somewhere else. And I assume those of you who talk down on this historic Sheridan landmark were probably getting the attitude you were giving!! This is my opinion that nobody asked for, but to be honest there is a sign and you had been warned! lol picture below!!

Lots of Western decor everywhere including in the bathroom. The decor was fun and perfect for this homey spot.

One negative, I LIVE TOO FAR AWAY FROM this place! LOL! I'm a breakfast person and currently on a huge road trip coming from California and out to see a big section of our country for the first time. Sorry didn't take a picture of my food, but decided to ordered the chicken fried steak: it was heavenly! The steak itself is tender and not hard. This is freshly made, and I don't mean just battered fresh. Usually it's a beef patty that comes frozen and then cooked up, but this isn't and it's thick, not a thin patty with a bunch of breading. The gravy was perfect too - everything it should be. I realized after I ate as much as I could that I never added Tabasco sauce, and it was because the gravy wasn't bland, heck even the patty itself had lots of flavor. The rest of the breakfast was just as it should be too. Don't be deterred by the older exterior as inside in pure gold. Atmosphere: I opted to sit at the counter, but if you walk past those there are some tables in the back. I spoke up and talked to people sitting next to me and everyone was as nice as could be, and the waitress that served me was super nice! If my travels ever take me to or within a 100 miles of Sheridan, I'll head to the Silver Spur Cafe as it's worth a detour. This time I was staying just down the street. Parking is tricky, but just drive around the place and then come in through the back alley to the parking lot.

This little hole in the wall spot was our favorite place we ate at! It's popular with the locals and that's always a good sign to me. We all loved what we ordered, the service was so friendly and attentive. Would definitely eat there again. Some might be distressed by the condition of the building. We would go again!

Eat at the counter if you can to up the vintage diner factor!

Wonderful old school diner with amazing food. Huge portions, you're going to eat twice. Staff is fast and efficient, food comes out quickly and is piping hot. Don't let the dated exterior fool you. Inside it's clean, cozy, and smells like good food. Lots of locals, you know you are in the right place then! Try the 3 egg omelette- so good, cooked perfectly and stuffed with fillings.

    Full size Breakfast Burrito

Our hotel sent us here for the "best and biggest breakfast burrito in the world". We laughed and gave it a shot but wow, that burrito was something else. You can choose between a full burrito or half burrito, so obviously we both had to get the full size. The menu doesn't tell you this, but you get to pick and choose what they put in it. She asked if we wanted sausage, bacon, or both. Then she asked if we wanted hash browns or breakfast potatoes, which also went inside the burrito. They also offer salsa, sour cream, and hot sauce as well. The burrito was delicious and I don't think I ate anything else the rest of the day. The staff was very friendly and it felt like we were a local. This place is a tiny hole in the wall with typical western decor, but give them a shot. Also, during covid, don't expect any masks. Everyone starred at us when we walked in with masks on..

Got a recommendation to eat here from one of the locals and was not disappointed. Had a fun atmosphere and good food makes me want to visit again. This small building can be easily overlooked but once inside it can feel a little cramped due to a-lot of people in a small room that was filled with decor everywhere I looked. The service was a tad slow but she also had a ton of other people to serve as well. The food was incredible. I had a chicken fried steak that was smothered in a delicious thick white gravy accompanied by fresh hash-browns, eggs and toast. This huge portion was definitely worth the cost. I had a great meal and a great time. This was much better than any chain restaurant we could have gone to.

Chorizo, eggs, hash browns and toast is hard to beat! Massive portions.

My hubby and I had the pleasure of having dinner at olha's for dinner which we enjoyed the cabbage…read moreroll dinner it was about fabulous. We shared the dinner..the flavor was spot on with tender cabbage and flavor of the pork .. The mash was excellent homemade fluffy goodness that was like eating Sunday dinner at home The dishes are authentic Ukraine flavors with top quality ingredients and attention to detail...it was more than expected the portion was more than enough for 2 and the beautiful golden baked sourdough bread is over the top baked to perfection.. The sdb was like a pillow of goodness with the perfect amount of flavor.. The baked goods are above and beyond what Grandma use to bake Olha's is that hidden gem that once you find it you'll always go back and the lovely Amanda was more like an ole friend and took very good care of us and the conversation was definitely the best part of dinner we look forward to coming back in the near future thank you If I could give them a higher star rating I would

My grandfather is Polish from Detroit, and I grew up in Chicago, so pączki during Fat Thursday week…read morehas always been a tradition for me. Despite Sheridan County's Polish population, I was surprised not to find a Polish bakery of any sort. Fortunately, someone recommended Olha's Market as a Ukrainian option which may have something similar. I walked in asking if they had pączki, and the staff simply served me pampushky without missing a beat, as if that's exactly what I'd asked for! It wasn't until later that I learned the Ukrainian name for these delicious fried dough treats. The pampushky were absolutely wonderful: light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. They reminded me of pączki but had their own unique character. The bakery case was full of beautiful pastries and breads that all looked delicious, and the restaurant side had an enticing menu of Ukrainian dishes. The service was warm and efficient, and it's clear this is a place run by people who genuinely care about their food and their heritage. They understood exactly what I was looking for, even if I didn't know the right word for it. Whether you're Ukrainian, Polish, or just someone who appreciates great Eastern European food, Olha's Market is worth a visit. I came in looking for something familiar and left with something even better: a new favorite spot and a little more knowledge about Ukrainian culture. My wife and I will definitely be back to try their pierogi and holubtsi for lunch, and we're curious to sample more of those baked goods! Slava Ukraini! Niech żyje Ukraina! Smacznego!
