We have tried to handle it ourselves, but nothing is working. We texted Custom Homes yesterday, 3/24/21 and they told us "too bad, you have been living there 5 years and we will not help you." We replied, "We have lived here 4 years not 5 years and this was a problem from the beginning and we thought we could make it better, but it is getting worse." They never replied back to us. This is a family owned business. When the father was in charge on a day-to-day basis, you never had this problem. He would tell you that he will always be there to help you no matter how long you have lived in the home. The father is now retired and what a huge difference in the attitude of his family members who have taken over this business. It is so sad that this generation will not go that extra mile for their customers. It's all about the money with them. They are super nice to you until after you sign the paperwork - then it goes down hill from there. I hope the father reads this review and does something about the family members who are destroying the business he worked so hard to be successful for many years.

My parents bought a condo from Custom Home Group in May. I have been checking their mail and…read morebuilding basement storage for them prior to them taking occupancy. In the process, I have discovered numerous problems. And though a few over looked details maybe be the norm. The list has grown excessive and their treatment of my parents has been unacceptable. 1. First they pushed for a quick close so they could avoid paying taxes & interest in the month of May. They said we never miss a deadline. So, when some hiccups came (1. My mom broke her arm and had surgery 2. There was a delay in the appraiser getting all her paperwork submitted) Custom Home Group required my parents to pay for the two weeks of taxes and interest. Fine, that is standard procedure, but if Custom Home Group was truly finished with the home then I should not have found all these issues. 2. The issues: 1. Water in the basement due to a pvc pipe on the AC unit not being properly installed. 2. A large nick in the shower pan of the master bath, so that bath is not functional (but "they always meet their deadline"). 3. The outlet for the microwave was not properly installed. 4. The doorbell was not properly installed. 5. The master bath exhaust fan was not properly installed. 6. Loose and uncapped wires in the basement. These are a few of the issues I have found before my parents even reside there. 3. Lack of quality. My parents purchased the home that was going to be the model, so it has many upgrades. As a result, I would not expect scratches in the kitchen sink and low quality granite on the island. A good quality slab is not yellow from being filled with epoxy. The company has a warranty so some of the issues will be fixed, but it requires us being present for the sub-contractors to visit. Which is now taking my time, but I am not getting paid for the taxes and interest during that time. What is not being fixed is the poor treatment. My parents were told that Custom Home Group hoped the deal would fail so they could resell it for more. My parents paid the full list price. My parents deserve a company that cares about their customers and not just every dollar they can make. I am sorry I ever recommended they buy this condo.
