Hit and run install....A very disappointing CalCo experience. Attention to details is not a CalCo…read morepriority. The workers worked hard but were rushed in doing my bathroom renovation because of pressure from headquarters that created troubles with the shower system, many shower leaks and a still to this day an improperly installed free standing tub that is wrongly glued to the new flooring per tub instructions. Shower system used is subpar, looks nice but cheap materials were used but came with a high end price! They rely on caulking everything, I'm afraid its not a long lasting water tight shower system. I made them aware of the tub issue but no follow up phone call by CalCo...nothing. After assessing all the facts I feel they did a hit and run install. I'm considering having my lawyer file a complaint against CalCo to have my tub issue resolved. It seems to me CalCo are sub par bathroom contractors, they obviously have a slap it all together and get out of there approach. I should have chosen Majestic contractors of Limerick, PA, they much closer and have a quality reputation. Before hiring CalCo make sure you thoroughly dot the i's and cross the t's.

From the very first meeting with John, we had a great feeling about proceeding with Forest Ridge to…read morehelp us design and build our home. Everyone was very helpful throughout the process, and we were not shy about asking a LOT of questions. Every one of John's crew, and those he chose to subcontract with were responsive, respectful, and professional. We were one of the first projects to come out of the initial COVID lockdown, therefore everyone was eager to work and get things done quickly. We started in June and were moved in by Thanksgiving. We were updated regularly on the progress, and always consulted before things were changed. John also did an AMAZING job keeping us to our budget, which was very important to us. We liked the way he developed his proposal to allow us the choice of where we wanted to get certain things such as lighting, flooring, etc. This made the process more fun for us, and also more affordable as we were able to shop around for the best prices for things we wanted. Forest Ridge went above and beyond in laying out what was included in the proposal, and what would be outside of that such as hardscaping, etc. Almost 3 years later, we come down our driveway and exclaim how much we LOVE our home. We are appreciative of John and his guidance in helping us to build our little slice of heaven. If we were ever in need of the services of Forest Ridge Builders, we would absolutely not hesitate to reach out.

I had several issues with this contractor. They are extremely sloppy they do not use drop cloths…read moreand i constantly had to clean up after them at night. After installing a new floor, they exposed it to the mud you use to tile a shower,as well as the Red Guard you use to waterproof the shower before tiling. I had to scrub the floor each night they left To get the mud residue and red guard drips up from the new uncovered floor. They also failed to protect a brand new acrylic tub while they were tiling and scratched in several places. I bought a repair kit at Lowe's and was able to buff them out at night after cleaning up the mess they made in the unprotected tub. They totally gutted my bathrooms and they do not own a Shop vac so they had to use our vacuum cleaner. They cleaned the cement out of a bucket and dumped the cement right in our garage which of course I had to clean up. They also started work prior to having a dumpster delivered so our garage was filled with junk for a week and a toilet fell over and smashed into pieces. They also cut tile with a wet saw in my garage instead of out in the grass away from the house. I had to power wash the entire garage and driveway to get up all the caked on dried up tile dust. Again because they don't drop cloth anything, they dripped tile residue all over our laminate floors and steps,as they carried the fresh cut dripping wet tile throughout the house. The contractor also has unusual hours, usually they averaged 4 hours a day 10-2 which drags the job out longer while your house is ripped apart. His proposal did say 5 weeks but I assumed that was 8 hours a day but I was wrong. He is a very good plumber and he did a nice job installing our floors in the bathrooms. The tile lines in one bathroom were good but the tile job in the last shower he did was terrible,he even installed a tile that was chipped and tried to cover it with grout.I am also hiring another contractor to come in and regrout the shower because it is terrible. My biggest complaint is the lack of respect they showed to our house with their sloppy work. I would not recommend them if you value clean, timely work, you will spend a lot of time cleaning up after them.

Here's why you should not use this company: 1- He…read moreovercharges. I paid $650 for staining the deck and Sharp Stream Power and Washing quoted $500. I'd already given the job to Gifford so I honored it. I should have known that if he were available immediately, it was a bad sign. 2- Not trustworthy. I contracted him for the job remotely and he said that he has 40+ years of experience and would be on-site. He said that he runs his own business and to trust him. The interior painter who also runs her own business and WAS on site said that he dropped off 2 guys in his truck and drove off. 3- Didn't finish the job. When I went up the day before listing the property, I noticed 1- his guys didn't paint behind the stairs. 2- There was a piece of lattice that had fallen off, gotten muddy and his guys JUST PAINTED OVER THE MUD and left it on the ground. His response was "It was like that before we started as well. We stained it propped up" Really? His guys don't think they should prep a sruface before painting it and just hammer one lattice in? I had someone I trusted there doing other work so I paid that guy $100 to correct these things and repaint the bench and deck finials which also didn't look great. I sent pictures to Gifford asking him for reimbursement (not even $100 but what he thought was fair). He didn't respond. 4-Unprofessional. Before he started the work, he mistakenly sent me a text meant for his buddy about "Coatesville women" - you can read between the lines. I should have known then.
