New place in Flower Mound and the rumor was that the chef was formerly with Nobu. It did not disappoint as there were great ideas on the menu as well as some traditional standards. We were there during the 20% discount and bring your own alcohol until they get their license up and running. Must try is the crispy chicken skin appetizer, seared salmon bowl, uni ikura wasabi, Japanese A5 wagyu. And then another crispy chicken skin appetizer to boot is what we decided because they were so good. The atmosphere was really open and inviting. You feel like you're in a Japanese sushi place for sure. Looks like a bar area if you want to just relax whilst waiting for a table. Very nice and we had some friends with whom the staff was extremely patient and helpful in explaining. I went with my fiancé and his mom around 5pm on Sunday and our waiter was so knowledgeable and nice. He honestly made the experience so nice. It's a bit more upscale than the other local sushi spot around but still casual in my opinion. It got really busy on Sunday so I recommend coming earlier or on a weekday. I've been back twice (within the week since they have 20% all of March and free wine) and here are the must gets and what I consider 10/10 - Apple and salmon - hamachi lover - fatty salmon sashimi We got their "Wagyu on the hot rocks" dish and it was good but not worth the $60+ price tag for 4oz wagyu Cucumber salad was good but not mind blowing In terms of service, I felt like it wasn't consistent. We shop at Sprouts weekly, so we've been eyeing this new Silver Sea Sushi restaurant, which is located in the same plaza. I've travelled to Japan twice and I can tell you there's not many places out there that even comes close to what sushi tastes like there, but this place is one of them. Their sushi literally melts in your mouth - it's so tender. They also have a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Every single one of them appeared to be plated like a 5 star restaurant. Small portions with huge flavor. Maybe choose one of the donburi bowls if you do have a larger appetite. I was not only impressed by the food but the service was outstanding. The manager, Anthony went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our experience. The decor felt very minimal, but it sounded like they were still in the process of decorating. I loved the large green drapes, orchid flowers and dim lighting which made it feel more romantic. I would personally suggest them to have small light lamps on each table because it was almost too dark to see - someone even pulled out their phone light to read the menu. The ac was also freezing - all of the ladies looked so cold, but luckily I had worn a jacket. Overall, though I'd highly recommend this restaurant for any sushi seekers out there or those wanting to experience a unique Japanese cuisine. read more

They're still setting up the place - you can just tell with stuff everywhere and things not in place and instead there's Tupperware and random plates on shelves that's designed for decorating. We wish we pulled the steak off faster before most of them cooked to well-done. We are medium rare people. It came with wasabi salsa, truffle salt and garlic chili oil. Meat was tender. Nothing to rave about it. But it was good. Mount Bona Maki roll for $20 . This was fabulous. Had raw scallop and squid on top with spicy tuna roll and fried shallots. The apple salmon was surprisingly delicious -- a really fresh and flavorful combination that stood out from the typical sushi offerings. We also ordered the salmon roll, rainbow roll, and California roll, and all of them were fresh, well-prepared, and nicely presented. You can tell the fish quality is good. One unexpected highlight was the Brussels sprouts. They were cooked perfectly and made a great appetizer before the sushi arrived. Beautiful Space, Disappointing Experience I visited this restaurant for the first time during their soft opening, and unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype from my neighborhood Facebook group. The Good: The design and ambiance are truly top-class--inviting and well-executed. The hostess greeted me warmly, which set a positive tone initially. The Not-So-Good: The food quality was a major letdown. The sushi was mediocre at best, and the Brussels sprouts were so badly burned they were completely inedible. For a restaurant with this level of design investment, I expected much better execution in the kitchen. The Frustrating Part: I came specifically because my local Facebook group mentioned a 20% discount for the soft opening. When my check arrived, no discount was applied. The hostess then informed me I'd need to return and dine in again to receive it--which defeats the purpose of a "soft opening" promotion and feels like a bait-and-switch. Given the portion sizes, food quality issues, and the discount confusion, I won't be returning. There are too many other great dining options in the area to give this place a second chance. As soon as I walked through the entrance, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the staff before being seated fairly quickly on a Sunday evening. The service felt professional, attentive, and friendly throughout my entire experience. The music genre of choice and interior sets the scene as professional, yet very passionate. Silver Sea is a quaint but very small restaurant with a higher than average priced menu for this type of restaurant. There are some interesting items on the menu, but be prepared to run up a pretty large bill for very small amount of food. My sashimi portions were the smallest I have ever had in any similar restaurant. If you like sushi, you pay $9 for one piece, and the slice of fish was razor thin. All others sushi places nearby serve two per order. We had a seaweed salad that was drenched in oil, probably soybean oil, and we could only eat half of it. This was our first visit, but we will not return because there are better values to be had just up the street. read more

I really hesitated to leave a negative review, but unfortunately the fish didn't meet expectations. It had a farm-raised fish flavor, similar to Sam's sushi.
