There is a really nice golf course with nine holes and a putting green, Miniature golf and a small fitness center. They have two pools and a hot tub. There is a full liquor bar with live entertainment. Since it was a holiday weekend, they had planned activities like candy bar bingo, an ice cream social and reasonably priced lunch and breakfast. The staff was phenomenal. Especially the AGM, she was everywhere doing everything always with a smile on her face and remembered everyone's names. We will be back for sure.

(in the middle of Florida!)…read more We discovered this charming remote gay campground 3+ years ago, when my husband, black lab and I rented one of the 3 yurts for a long weekend, over Thanksgiving, and have been coming down ever since. It was the community of existing "perms" (permanent) campers, weekenders, and eventually northern snowbirds -- who all contribute to the success of this evolving camp ground (and dare I say play-ground?) Orange groves, herds of cattle, and scrub palmetto's line the road to Venus Florida -- however when you drive through the central part of Camp Mars a canopy of live oak shade your site (and maybe just a few bare chests and the occasional bare ass (only at the pool, they insist!). It just doesn't get any closer to nature. There's few bugs, a friendly atmosphere, invitations to wine & cheese parties, or after-hours campfires. We were surprised that this campground (100 sites?) had so much to offer -- heated pool with pop music, large rec hall with a commercial grade kitchen open to all tenters, campers, alike, movies under the stars, sat eve themed dance parties, bingo on Friday, mexican train most nites, pot lucks on saturday for dinner, tent camping along the shared fenceline with cows, Pedro's trail for the nature lover/man lover and of course the newly expanded Gentleman's Club -- open all day, all nite, when you're a little restless. Let's be honest though...it's the friends you meet here, that make the difference. The ones who invite you to taste their homemade bbq rub, or the ones who help you "doll up" for your first drag attempt, or those who ask you to help out in fixing an adult mac 'n cheese for the pot-luck, that rub your shoulders as you sit poolside with a rum & coke. It's those connections, locating kindred spirits that make Camp Mars so alluring -- without all the drama. Only 2 hours from Tampa Bay (and similarly from Miami/Ft. We did about 4 miles away rented a rv. And do the day pass thing. Now, for the most part.. its clicky , and not many newbies.. friendly people there, nothing to do.. the 2 guys that own it are rude and nasty as fuck.. condescending, the short old one drive around in the golf cart and watch everyone, a gestapo. Rude and nasty, very very unfriendly, and makes any newcomers uneasy and unwelcome.. you figure they would love new blood to stair some life in the place. It could be a great place. There are three distances: 18 miles, 50k (31 miles), and 50 miles. The course runs along sections of the Lake to Ocean trail following the orange blazes on single track trails that are typically wet this time of year. However, a sever drought which precipitated the Everglades fires left most of the trails on dry conditions. The race is basically a charity that donates money for musical instruments in a school in Argentina. The race is well supported with excellent aid stations. It's a very good race if you are trying to prepare for Keys 100 or the Lake 2 Ocean race in May and June respectively, as temperatures are usually hot for this race. The single track trail meanders through wonderful everglades area and is home to many wild animals including snake and alligator. All year round there is recreational hunting and fishing. There is a youth camp but you'll have to have children to overnight. Otherwise, camping is permitted in many locations as well. If you love trail races and don't mind getting dirty this is a great one.

I asked her if I could authorize it over the phone she said no. I asked her if I could authorize it over email, she told me no. It was planned that I would come in later at the end of the week after my trip was over to come and sign the paperwork. Then she informed my boyfriend that he did not get approved to live there. So I called and I wanted my electric deposit back and to make sure I was not going to get charged for the upcoming month (since we never technically moved in, we were just paying rent to save our spot) and to get my $50 for my background check back because she told me they could not run it without my signature. She then informed me that she already ran my background check. I said that's really weird and shady because you told me you couldn't do it without my signature. And she was just standing on that she is not giving back my money because they already ran it. I don't even care about getting the money back at the principal is you told me that you could not run my background check and then you hung up the phone and proceeded to do it anyways. That is so unprofessional and the way the property manager handled it (I know if I say her name it's easier for her to take this review down but it starts with a K) I said, proceeded to ask the corporate number and she flat out told me no. Refused to give me a corporate number and then she gave me an email that is her work email. I think it's really shady that you're gonna act that way and then refuse to let anybody report it. I was about to stay at this campground for the next 1 to 5 years. And honestly, this must be a blessing in disguise that I don't need to be near that woman because even when I stayed her the previous year, she had a nasty attitude. I just hope this review helps other people protect themselves in the future because this company will dance along the line of doing illegal things behind your back. I had no problem if they had run the background check, the principal of this is that you told me you could not, hung up the phone, and then we ended it anyway without my knowledge. Update 7.12.26 According to their investigation and according to their " proper procedure" they " did not do anything wrong". If calling someone to let her know that you could NOT run the background check, informing her she HAS to come in to sign the bottom line, hanging up the phone and then proceeding to do the background check anyways is what this company calls "proper procedure", then I'm taking it as a blessing that my name will not be associated with a company that has such sketchy "proper procedure". An halfway apology does not seem genuine when you only respond through an online platform when I have complained. I asked for the corporate number and I was denied. I asked for a corporate email and I was denied. I'm glad to know you guys pay attention to your online reviews, and I hope you do better in the future when it comes to your "proper procedure"

Blowing Rocks is an amazing natural look at what the Florida Shoreline should look like. Our grill looks like it's been through WW2. And has no propane in it. People take their big dogs to the dog park and don't clean up after them. On the plus side the pool is nice. Most of the rv sites are big rig friendly. The town of Jensen Beach is quaint and within walking distance. I'm not entirely sure if I would recommend this place. They charge 3,400.00 a month for a rv site! At this price I would expect a lot more than what is offered. Like walking distance to the beach!

Vero Beach is close by as well. It is soothing calming & quiet here, every once in a while a plane flies over & parachuters exits the plane & you see the chutes open & colorful. Now you might think the agressive racoon is cute and cuddly animal but don't you dare try to pet him cuddle him or feed him. As a matter of fact the raccoons will show up your campsite during daylight hours but don't be fooled, this is a reconnaissance mission. Once everyone goes to bed, they come back. They revisit the sites that had the best goodies. They will open your coolers and go through your trash.

This is a free primitive campground (no hookups) managed by the South Florida Water Management District. While free, it does require a Special Use Application and License (which is also free). The Special Use License secures 1 of the 14 licenses available per day, and also gives you access to the gate code for entry; the camp host did check that we had one. The campground is far from traffic noise, and each site is large and picturesque. The family campground is for tent and pop-up camping only. No trailers, camper vans, truck campers, or RVs are permitted for camping. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed per campsite. While we have a Class B RV, we followed the rules and set up our tent for overnight camping. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring. The Family Campground has clean composting toilets. A full-service bath house with hot showers and flushing toilets are available for use in the Equestrian Campground. The DuPuis Management area offers camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, bicycling, geocaching, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and hunting during specific seasons. We had only one issue -- and that was that our GPS took us to the wrong, locked entry gate but we figured it out.

No picnic table. very basic. We did not use any of the restrooms/showers. The park is close to a train track but after a day or two we didn't really notice them. We had a space on the road with a view of the Indian River. We loved it and will diffidently return again.
